Supposedly the governor of kentucky has laid a lot of the florida shooting on video games. What are your thoughts on their correlation?

The Florida shooter was a big fan of Splatoon 2, a game that glorifies gun violence. What does that tell you?

Nintendo doesn't care so long as their wallets are lined with the money of those whose lives they have indirectly trampled.

If video games caused the generation of the kind of mental problems needed for someone to start murdering, we would have wiped ourselves out by now.

There was no violence before video games.

There can be only one.

Of course not. It'll be like saying violent movies cause violence. People just want to blame something so they can avoid talking about the actual problem.

Fuck no.

And reminder that the deadliest school massacre in American history was like 70 or 80 years before vids were mainstream.

Well, I have noticed that the kids who are super into FPS games are the ones with the most stunted sense of empathy and emotional intelligence.

well i have heard people say that maybe vid games may damage society to some degree but it still doesn't damage it as much as smoking, drinking, drugs, religion etc., all that are mostly still legal

Oh, I just think people with a stunted sense of empathy and emotional intelligence are drawn to FPS games. Also, people with "gun hero" fantasy syndrome.

Videogames won't turn you into a killer. Its fucking common sense. People who blame videogames ignore studies which say they don't affect people in that way, they can make you more passive and cause insomnia etc.. Its also interesting for people to blame video games without mentioning any studies which back them up...oh wait! there are fucking none.

Only in the aspect of that it inspires minds who already have murderous thoughts, much like other media. It doesn't turn otherwise innocent people into murderers.
