IIRC Tolkien treated LotR as one giant story, and it's split into three books more for convenience than anything. That's why the first two films don't have strong conclusions - you don't conclude a story at the 1/3 and 2/3 points.

the latest edition was designed to be MUCH easier for new players to get into and became less of an inane math game that's all about the combat, and much more of a roleplaying game that rests on multiple pillars, with exploration/social interaction as important as smiting evil (or good).

5e uses bounded accuracy with very, very few attack/damage modifiers and a concentration system that prevents casters from stacking 50 buffs/debuffs, so the game is simple and straightforward, and for the first time ever the linear warrior, quadratic wizard concept was broken.

as a result, people who'd never have wanted to play 3.5 or 4e are interested in 5e, buying the sourcebooks and playing the game.

people got into it, THEN media got into it.

Here's a fair question about the Dem rebuttal: If we are to assume that Nunes memo is in fact intentionally biased to make false claims, why are we assuming that by default a dem rebuttal would be factual and accurate? If you can't accept the possible truth of one, there's no point in claiming value in the other.

Even better, there's a chance that the Nunes memo isn't biased because it wasn't designed for public distribution, but the rebuttal is explicitly designed for public consumption, so the odds of the rebuttal being unbiased should, in theory, be by default less likely.

Yeah like panic chasing the bottom of a falling knife (GE) during an amazing bull market. Or playing pretend trader with Apple's earnings. I think they surprise too, though.

i've committed about 15% of my portfolio to those trades. the rest is index funds that have done fine.

and i think GE will present a decent potential return over time relative to those indexes. AAPL has underperformed FAANG of late, so i'm either going to get a minor burn and a net underpeform, or a well-timed bump. But I'm holding them for a while, as I should have when I had them back in 2010-2012.

There's just as many guidelines and experienced people advising you not to overclassify things as there are trying to stop you from underclassifying things. It's not as if people just throw TS on something and say "I can't be bothered to actually figure out what this should be".
