I just moved in w my best friend of two years.

Felt depressed a little bit. When I was a kid, I always liked just going for walks late at night. I'd go into forested areas or parks or just walk aimlessly. Just being isolated always helped me find some inner happiness.

Playing music also helps me. But I can't amplify it when I'm home because people are trying to sleep.

Since I have a car, I can do what I did as a kid more safely and just blast music. I always get in a drinking mood on Sundays though. Always pisses me off.

But yea. I'm just releasing some stress. It's really helpful for me.

Song in the OP is a bland example. But some songs are actually pretty great on their own from games.

Let's Dance, Boys from Bayonetta or A Fleeting Dream from FF10 are video game music that while knowing the context of them obviously amplifies the song, they can ride solo just as well as an upbeat jazz and emotional evoker, respectively.

Anime has good ones too. Though I can't immediately think of any. Though Pinky is right in that most anime music is based around bringing back specific moments.

Though I guess it isn't so different to people listening to specific music when they workout or when they're sad, is it? Music being used for situational mental stimulant isn't exactly abnormal.
