the biggest thing, in my mind, is the posting style. Preston had a very odd way of constructing sentences. they were disorderly, ungrammatical, looped around. it was almost word salad. I wish I had a text sample because I'm not describing it very well, but it was weird enough that I wondered if he had some sort of neurological disorder -- and it wasn't something you can really change on a whim.

new Preston likes saying nonsensical stuff but if you look sentence by sentence, he knows how to write a proper sentence

I thought this was explained quite well during that conversation he has with Thor right before Thor and Iron Man fight. His desire for a throne, because he was denied one, is what motivated him and made him desperate enough to work with Thanos/The Other.

He just masked that when dealing with the other characters because why would he expose that to them.

Accuracy matters. It is important that the correct terms for stuff are used with stuff like this. Using the wrong terms is something people have done in the past deliberately to slander people - it's important not to go down that road. Calling him a paedophile if the definition of paedophile excludes his activities is literally fake news. It's inaccurate. Being right is important. It's not a defence - it's a more accurate attack!

Now yes, this guy should be condemned, and everyone is doing that (except Ulti, obviously). Rock is too. But Rock shouldn't be put in the category of "almost defending it" or whatever. It shouldn't "come off" that way. He went out of his way to not come off that way in his posts.

I doubt it was his first thought, either, even if it was the same post.

What should be the wording/tone of a statement, or should any be made in the first place?

Obviously the solution is "don't sexually harass people", but it has happened. Is the correct way to move forward to make no statement, or a different kind of statement?

Like there's no good way forward but some are undoubtedly better than others. I think CK's response is way better than, say, Spacey's for example.

I get this but I also had a weird example of the exact opposite yesterday watching Stranger Things 2

Johnathan and Nancy presumably had sex, and then the next morning at breakfast the guy they're staying with asks Jonathan "how was the pull-out", referring to the pull-out bed. And I knew in that split second Johnathan would do the "choke on their drink" bit that people always do if someone says something shocking or unexpected. I knew it. I've seen that a dozen times or more.

But I still laughed!

At some point during Thor beating the shit out of zombies with lightning powers I realised this movie is fucking awesome. Something clicked in my brain and I was like "oh sure, yeah, this is pretty much the best"

I also liked silhouetted Loki coming to save the day. Great shot.
