Clannad VN spoilers

I'm partway down the Kyou/Ryou route. I don't know how many days this goes for but I'm past all the choices the guide told me to make so I assume I'm nearing the end. I definitely like Kyou more than Ryou (and this whole route is way better than Yukine's) but I'm not sure how I feel about how it's playing out. Kyou trying to do the right thing regarding her sister's feelings is a testament to her character that makes me like her more, but I like Ryou too so I'm dreading the moment she finds out what's going on and inevitably loses Tomoya to her sister. The time for him to elegantly back out of their relationship has long since passed, I feel, but maybe the game will surprise me. Still, even if it ends badly, I suppose I'll be fixing things with the power of alternate dimensions by reloading a save and doing the real Ryou route right after >_>

I watched one episode of Shiki to see what it was about (I'm nearing my internet data cap and can't binge, sadly) and it was interesting enough that I want to continue. The animation/art style isn't what I'm used to but I think it'll grow on me.

I finished my first route in Clannad! Spoiler warning

Yukine's route was pretty good, though I felt like the relationship at the end should've been built up more thoroughly. Tomoya falling for her made sense but they never made it clear if she truly reciprocated the feelings or just saw him as a replacement for her brother. Ah well. Still, if that's your least favorite then all the rest must be really good!

If I have one complaint about the VN so far, I'm not sure I'm a fan of how it handles routes. Tomoya was all over the place spending time with a bunch of girls (he was helping Nagisa with the drama club, Kyou was trying to set him up with Ryou, a girl whose name I can't say because it's apparently a censor bypass gave him a star...) and then suddenly I triggered enough events with Yukine and everyone else literally disappeared. It felt so sudden and, as good as Yukine's plot was, I kept wondering about all the other characters I had left behind. Still, I suppose I just need to play all the routes and then view the VN as a whole. That'll solve this problem!

I started the Clannad VN today, mostly because if I stream any more anime this week I'll go over my internet data cap and I stubbornly don't want to pay the fee. I'm not very far in yet but people should probably still watch out for spoilers here. Please excuse my rambling thoughts.

Anyway, I'm trying to follow a route order guide that I found so I'm starting with the Yukine route. That said... I'm not sure how character routes work in this game because as of April 22nd I've barely met Yukine and Tomoya is clearly well on his way down the Nagisa route based on all the time they've spent together. Nagisa is good so I don't mind, but her route is supposed to come last! I hope I didn't misunderstand the guide, I assumed I could pick anything when it didn't specifically list a decision under the Yukine section. Ah well, at worst I guess I could just speed through a second playthrough if I needed to.

I'm still in the process of meeting characters but so far I think Kyou is my favorite. I mean, she has a pet boar and a sweet bike and she's had a lot of fun interactions so far, what's not to love? I have a feeling Tomoyo will be good too but right now I'm mostly bothered that her name is only one letter away from Tomoya. I'm afraid that'll get confusing when I start interacting with her more. My final comment is... man, poor Sunohara. A lot of is it self-inflicted, but that dude just cannot catch a break.

It's been a fun VN so far but I imagine I'm still in the stage-setting portion of the story. I hope the girls other than Nagisa get more attention eventually.

I'll admit I'm still near the beginning so she might go downhill later but I think Index is great so far. I love characters who can stay positive and full of energy. Index has also displayed a level of depth beyond that, too, especially through her background (which is super intriguing).

Well I'm only four episodes in so I guess I can talk openly without worrying too much about spoilers. As I understand it, his ability only counteracts special powers and even then he's already faced someone who found a workaround that required a creative solution. As the second battle showed, his ability also isn't worth much against someone who doesn't need to use their special power to begin with. I dunno, I thought they were using it in a neat way so far.

I watched through Nanana's Buried Treasure today and I thought it was alright. I would've preferred an ending with more closure but what can you do.

I've also been watching A Certain Magical Index. I'm not very far in yet but I'm enjoying it. Index is a fun character and Touma has a unique power that seems incredibly situational so I'm excited to see how he uses it to tackle various obstacles.
