These were my votes for Best New Male. Considering the amount of trouble I had filling this section out, I'm not surprised to find that two of the good male characters are from an anime I didn't see. Elias is also an inoffensive winner even if I don't like Magus Bride overall.

Ayanokouji was the only one who really impressed me (and yes I know I'm probably alone in that). Sebas was just a great minor comic relief character and Reg was fine.

Some might argue GLT didn't really have a story, but in my opinion the story was in exploring the ruined world itself and I found it interesting. LWA was a fairly standard story done really well. Anime-Gataris started as a normal school club anime but it steadily grew into something special.

I really did think it looked good! Checking the results from a google image search now as a reminder, I also liked how it handled lighting and shadows in a lot of scenes.

LotL has been covered pretty well already (impressive CGI), GLT always seemed soft despite being really detailed, and I really liked how the characters looked in CotE. It was something about their eyes.

that's a rather generous view of Ryou

Kyou liked him first, Ryou knew she liked him, and she let her sister fall on her sword for her own gain when she knew her Kyou would never do that to her. But I've learned "selfishness" isn't really one of your turnoffs so whatever...!

The way I see it, if A and B both like C, A only gets precedence if they have some intention of following through. Otherwise it becomes B sacrificing their own feelings for nothing. Besides, I found the whole situation between Kyou/Ryou to be oddly sweet. Ryou depended on her sister a lot so of course she goes to her for something like this. It also says a lot about Kyou being a good person that she was willing to set her own feelings aside and help her sister. Then, once Tomoya definitively chose Kyou, Ryou backed off with a lot more grace than I was expecting. It all worked out in the end!

Yeah, the Aimee part is the one that went too far to me. The whole game is fairly grim but that section felt mean-spirited just for the sake of it. Still, that part isn't what I think about when looking back at the story as a whole so hopefully you can look past it as well.

I'm afraid to say more because it's been awhile and I forget what events happened behind which doors. I'll post more thoughts once you're finished!

I finished the Kyou route, and then the Ryou route (not a whole lot to say about that one, it was basically just the Kyou route but it ended a week earlier). I thought the situation those three found themselves in was pretty heartfelt. I was impressed at how none of them were really to blame. Tomoya didn't know how he felt at first, Kyou was just trying to do the right thing for her sister, and... well, I guess Ryou was ignoring how Kyou felt but I don't hold that against her. She had as much right to go after for the person she likes as anyone else does. Anyway, it was sad watching Ryou realize who Tomoya truly loved but at the same time it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She took it rather well all things considered. I also enjoyed the confession scene with a disguised Kyou, and the post-credits scenes of the two of them in a relationship. It finally helped me understand what you guys were saying about wanting more Kyou in the Kyou route. I wanted more scenes of the two of them together!

Next route: I discover who the hell Kappei is, I don't think I've met them.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about Violet Evergarden after two episodes. I like the idea of an emotionless girl learning to feel but without knowing why she can't feel emotions in the first place I'm finding it hard to care. Things were simpler when I thought she was actually a robot, now I'm just hoping I learn more about Violet soon.

After the Rain and How to Keep a Mummy both had solid second episodes, though (that mummy is so damn cute). I enjoyed the second episode of Maerchen Maedchen too! It seems like it's going to be a fun show about stories and creativity, I can get behind that.

I've done escape rooms a few times, thankfully with a group that was much smarter than me who got me out. I always focused on one aspect of the room and tried to figure it out rather than pretending I was smart and trying to stay on top of everything. Eventually they needed the info that I had.

That's a common reaction and it's a large reason that route isn't well liked because you have to spend most of it with Ryou instead of Kyou.

For me, I think it's less about the ratio (I feel like I've seen Kyou enough to like her) and more just... I feel sad for Ryou given how I assume this is going to turn out. I don't like Kyou that much more than Ryou!
