Even a company like Google is slow to get into the space with the actual superior technology when it requires brand new infrastructure.

Why though?

Google has more money than Comcast and Verizon combined, better tech, better value, more users and brand value. So how were they unable to break in?

As an aside: Do you even think this is a problem? Does it matter at all whether Google competes against Comcast as long as Comcast is highly regulated?

Anyways the point is the FCC can choose to support local/state policies, or it can override them, and it's all based on politics. Obviously the big guys like this because they can afford all the lobbying, but it doesn't help any competition or consumers.

Obviously if the FCC loses control, then nothing instantly changes, due to established infrastructure and local laws and deals. But the point is FCC Title II oversight is a massive wall that can be taken down and make the barrier to entry easier.

Hamburger buns are often molded so the tops/bottoms are almost exactly the same. Bagels/english muffin/etc have much more variation in the slices so it's a bit more of a difficult question.

BUT I think it's pretty impressive how Bioshock brought that FPS sim style to the modern generation. It's actually really hard to dumb down and streamline those games, so it provided a really good foundation for future FPS sims that were way better (Dishonored, etc).

I tried to arbitrage but gdax had frozen already... it only lasted like an hour and there weren't even any buyers so nothing really happened. BCH went up on other exchanges in anticipation of gdax coming back, so the tiny bit I had there went up. But now it's going back down again.

It's also entirely possible that the hyperdrive uses a completely different fuel source than the sublight engines. So, at the beginning of the chase they would have had enough fuel for one hyperspace jump and 18 hours of sublight travel.

I thought about that too but then still why wouldn't they hyperjump somewhere more comfortable and then do the whole 18 hour slow crawl thing?

There is 0 chance the 8 new characters are complete and locked out to raise the price. GG Xrd launched with like 16 characters. This game has 25 playable and a ton of extra animated characters too. Watch this to see what goes into making each animation for each character in these games: (if you're too lazy or willfully ignorant to watch it then shut up and never pretend to talk seriously about the effort and timelines of game dev again)

The DLC characters are like $4 each. Smash characters aren't even that cheap.

Anyways this is the pricing model we need to see in games going forward. Real costs for real quality content. No gambling loot box nonsense (although they're fine when very optional). No season passes with garbage that no one cares about.

I took it as the amount of fuel needed to make a jump that would reach a satisfactory distance, not to start up a jump.

That also wouldn't make sense because they said there was only enough fuel for 1 more jump. If you could use less fuel to travel less, they could've used just a bit of it to get to a move favorable planet with a rebel base and then defend themselves there.

But it definitely seems more like there is a huge fuel cost to entering hyperspace. Probably some different fuel usage based on distance traveled, but the jump itself should take the majority of the energy, which is seen in how destructive it can be as a suicide bomb.

The main thing to complain about the hyperspace suicide wasn't its power, it's something that was flawed from the very beginning

If they only had fuel for 1 hyperspace jump, and it ran out in 18 hours, then why after 17 hours did they still have enough fuel for the jump? Does hyperspace work as long as you have the tiniest bit of fuel? Makes no sense and can't be explained by "it's a movie about space wizards"

But evidently no one complaining about the hyperspace jump spent the 5 seconds of thought required to realize that flaw

No, Coinbase will be credited an equal amount. You don't get control of your forked coins unless you control your private keys.

A fork is just what it sounds like, it splits the chain into 2. One is the main bitcoin chain, and the other is the altcoin. They both share the same history, so naturally you have an exact copy in the alt chain as you do on the bitcoin chain.

It's not necessarily free money since theoretically people have to buy in to the new chain from the main chain, splitting the value. In practice it ends up being free money because none of the previous forks (cash, gold) actually caused the BTC price to drop, while the alt increased in value. So you can claim your coin on the alt chain and then sell it for more BTC.

For example right now BCH is 0.13 BTC, so if you haven't claimed your BCH yet (and you had control of your private keys before August 1) then you can sell it to gain a free 13% boost to your BTC. I sold mine when it was about 9% way back when. And then BTG for about 3%.

Hmm that's a new angle on the persecution complex that I didn't think about - it lets you convince yourself your extremely basic simplistic ideas are actually daring and fresh and valuable.

Looks like it doesn't work too well though since you would still never tell your boss that. Especially since you know that demographic-based marketing is outdated and far less effective than individually targeted advertising (or maybe saying THAT would be get you fired by your old school clients?)
