If you're afraid of volatility, why are you in crypto?

Basically because over the past couple weeks I put all my investment into BTC because I was confident it would keep going up until the fork. Now they canceled the fork and it's just fucking everything up. I had a sure thing! It was a sure thing!!

It was going to dip like this after the fork anyway. Idk what you're so upset about.

Yes and no. You should be applying constantly and not just waiting to hear back from one place. I've had places say that to me and not hear anything back for another week or so. Hiring people is almost never a high priority thing and it's having to get done through both HR and the supervisor. Those two sets of people get sick, get busy, take vacation, etc.

There was a huge pump into BTC before the fork, there was a huge pump into alts after the fork. Things are just correcting like they are suppose. If you bought on the pump when BTC was over $7k then lol.

BTC will get back to $7k and higher naturally a few months from now. Unless you're trying to day trade and flip your coins for a quick profit then don't worry about what the prices are day to day. Just HODL and chill out.

Alts were supposed to explode. They did.

Topic is about bitcoin not alts unless that is directly related but I don't think it is. I kept hearing people buying bitcoin because of some upcoming fork which never came.

It is directly related.

People sold all their altcoins to put into BTC for the upcoming fork. This made altcions decrease and BTC explode.

Now that the fork is suspended, people sold off their BTC for a profit and put it all back into their altcoins. The made BTC go down and a ton of altcoins go up.

A segment of the community didn't follow trend and doubled down on their altcoins when they nosedived. Now many are at all time highs and some of us made a very nice profit.

Yeah depending on your bank. If you bank has an app they probably offer it. I do it for Bank of America whenever someone gives me a check. The app has you take a picture of the front and back of the check, type in the dollar amount, and that's it. It'll be in your account within a day or so.

I literally never have to go to the bank anymore.

I've always had a 1 hour, 1 way limit. Ton of people in my area(Richmond) work in DC so they're driving 2 hours or more just to get to the office everyday. It's all about what you're willing to drive everyday.

Since the position is a software engineer, do you have any work from home opportunities? You'd be able to do all of your job from your laptop right? I'd deal with the 90 min commute if the meant I only had to go into the office 1-2 days a week.

Same with GTA 1 and it's London entries.

So, I could tell them to contact the phone company and get proof I didn't call from here? Is there no way to trace back to who made the call/texts?

This sounds like a lot of effort with very little payout.

I'm just tried of everyone else having so much power over my life, man. Why do they get to win this, when I've done nothing wrong?

You'll win by not feeding into their drama and walking away with your head held high. Even if you showed all this evidence, there's no guarantee that your supervisor will magically see the truth. Denial is a powerful thing.

This is not good thinking. There's no HR so there's no one to expose this stuff to, Virginia is an at will state so they can fire you without reason, the job is horrible so you need to focus on getting a better job. Who cares if that's giving them what they want.

Well I tried a few other sites and tells me that I only have an ipv4 address. I can only assume like you say it depends on how the other end is configured.

Most sites and companies for that matter don't give two shits about IPv6. Its easy to memorize and work with v4 addresses. Nearly impossible with v6. Until we literally run out of v4 addresses and are forced to use v6, no one will.

Your ISP has assigned you both a IPv4 and IPv6 address. Your computer is currently using the IPv4 address either because the OS defaults to it or whatever so that's the one that works.

Just a very layman explanation. Networking is my weakest area.

@Romulox28

There's no such thing as moving straight up a career ladder anymore. It's all about zig zagging. I've spent 9 years in IT. My first 4 years at my first job getting a 2% raise every year. I've had 3 jobs since then. Jumping ship every 1-2 years. When I do, it's always to a more senior position and an additional $10k-$20k salary bump. I love starting from the beginning at a new company. Gives me a chance to learn a new environment, new ways of doing things, and new skills for me to add to my repertoire.

The short of it....you don't gain experience by working the same job for years on end. Experience different work environments with different thought processes.
