To have a prepared delicious edible food. Combining ingredients and using heat to create a dish is cooking. Are boiled potatoes not cooked? Beans? Rice? Those things are all combined with water, salt, and often fat, then heated. It fits the definition of cooking. Where's your arbitrary line drawn at?

Applying heat to it to create a chemical reaction and add other stuff to make it tasty. My point being you can just grab some noodles and munch on them right out of the box from the store, you can't do that with plenty of stuff people eat. Just like you can just take a (fully grown) potato, run some water over it, and take a bite out of it as well and it's fine.

You just soften them and make them noodley, you're not actually cooking anything. You're not worried about infectious agents from inside of them, it's fine. You have a bit of problem digesting it, but you that's nothing to throw a fit over. You don't eat raw noodles because it's crunchy and sucks.

I will cook my ramen noodles occasionally just in a bowl in the microwave to soften and then fry the noodles after >_> It cuts the cooking time in a quarter.

One thing Ive learned is that sometimes when my wife is complaining about work or her family, is that shes not always looking for solutions. Sometimes, she just wants to vent. Blow off some steam. She just wants me to listen, and maybe back her up in her frustration even if I feel theres a better way to cope.

Japan's culture doesn't cultivate murderers like America does so strangely the murder rate is lower. Japan is also socially collectivist so inherently they're less willing to wrong others in their homogeneous society, meaning low crimes in general.

There's an awful lot of reasons why Japan is how it is without calling in "Yakuza and the police are the Illuminati fixing statistics".

Also the police shoot magic pixies who can summon murderers to them so they can have that 96.6% arrest rate.

Zikten's comment wasn't really a race issue, more of a national issue. And, while parts of it sound really wrong, iirc mental health issues may carry a greater stigma in Japan. Also worth noting that, while by no means the highest suicide rate in the world (that "honor" supposedly belongs to Lithuania), Japan has a problematic relationship with suicide.

To be clear: Japan has a higher suicide rate because when police will find dead people who appear to have killed themselves, they don't actually do all that much checking to see if it's a murder case (just if it's a very simple murder). That way they can claim that they have such a low murder rate, a high murder-capture rate, and totally not piss off the Yakuza (which the deaths/suicides can likely be involved with it).
Police can be awful anywhere.

it might be cause it was a suicide. in japan I think they assume someone that killed themself must have had some shame in their life. mental illness and depression isn't recognized, so the only reason thye can think of is "he must have done something that brought shame on his family"

I didn't join the Gaming Guild in my college because most of the people in it were even more cringey-nerd than I was and it was almost physically uncomfortable to be around them, in spite of the fact that we shared multiple similar interests (video games, RPGs, CCGs, etc).

By the way, there's normally a sub-group of people who go to the local gaming club who are actually reasonable people who like good stuff and can hold a conversation. You need to deal with some shit, but you can find them eventually.

On an unrelated note: I have learned something recently about myself: I do like picking out gifts quality for my gf. I recently got her a book (a YA novel, but don't tell her that), and she genuinely likes it so much she's excited when I started to read it around her because she read through it again over my shoulder.
