To be brief.

Suddenly killed her off unceremoniously in the current infamously loathed Spiderman run, just so they could bring her back as a mutant to be in line with the MCU. New comic series will be written by her MCU actor.
That's amazing. Thanks.

Some thoughts, mega spoilers:

Not kidding around, these are mega spoilers, don't click them:
  • I feel that this game basically demands to be compared to Danganronpa, so I won't feel bad about doing that.
  • Shinigami and Yuma are pretty good as the protagonists. I liked them well enough; no problems there.
  • The Mystery Labyrinths are way weaker as a climatic showdown than the class trials, and like, I don't hold this against the game, but they're clearly just stolen as a concept from Persona 5. Having to stare down someone who's desperately trying to lie his way out of it by shoving evidence in his face, while other people speculate about what's happening, is way more emotionally engaging than arguing with a psychic recreation of a corrupt corporate guy. And it doesn't help that all of the Amaterasu guys are just comically, pointlessly evil.
  • Having most of the killers and accused just be randos really makes them much more boring. The game really wanted me to care about the three high school girls, but we've heard them speak like four sentences each, and then they all die. The only case that works for me is Yakou's, but even that's damaged by the fact that he's basically already dead, and he isn't there to defend or explain himself, only the comically evil Yomi is. There's even one accused whom you never even meet, you just meet the guy's son.
  • The mysteries themselves are also way weaker and easier than Danganronpa's or Phoenix Wright's. I was expecting a lot of convoluted wacky murder schemes, and the only one that even approaches that is the Yakou case, which is unsurprisingly the best one in the game.
  • Once I realized that the detectives would never actually do anything important on their own, and were just there to facilitate Yuma's exploration and investigation, they just become a series of wacky characters with no point to them. The only exception is Vivia. Again, you compare this to Danganronpa or Phoenix Wright, where the non-protagonists actually go out and do stuff and have their own motives and may or may not be planning to betray you.
  • For how much time is spent driving home the idea that Kanai Ward would be destroyed by the awful truth of the homunculi, it's jarring that everyone just accepts it off-screen and it's no big deal and no one really cares that much. I laughed when Kurumi said the ramen guy makes food with "the nutrients we need to survive."
  • I hated the pink blood twist, but I know most people like it, so that's just me, I guess.
  • I didn't hate the game or anything, and I will play the DLC, but it definitely underwhelmed me.

#26: The Socialist Democratic Federated Republic Of Carbombya

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/3/4/AAAG8cAAEovK.jpg
Do the camels get to vote?

There have been LOTS of offensive stereotypes in cartoons over the years, but this just absolutely takes the cake. The Socialist Democratic Federated Republic Of Carbombya was featured in the 1980s Transformers cartoon, and... just look at it. Just look at the name. Apparently based on Libya, with its leader Abdul Fakkadi based on real-life Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, Carbombya (shudder) plays an antagonistic role in several early Transformers episodes as a xenophobic, villainous nation frequently working with the Decepticons. It's not just a one-off joke, either: the country's residents are also walking stereotypes, saying things such as "I swear on my camel" and the like. Even back in the 1980s, it's absolutely insane that they got away with this. I know cartoons used to get away with a lot, but this is over the top even for the time. Voice actor Casey Kasem (who was of Lebanese descent) agreed, as he left the show due to the racist stereotypes portrayed in episodes featuring Carbombya. It's especially egregious that a show featuring a character like Optimus Prime, one of the most heroic cartoon characters ever created, could engage in such base racism and stereotyping, but there you go.
This is amazing. Its like if they had a bad guy country named Stabistan, thats so outwardly racist its incredible.

Sounds good.

This is only sort of related, but Fuuka is such an odd character to me. Definitely the least memorable navigator, always has a completely new voice, and in Arena Ultimax, I think she's the only P3 and P4 character of any importance not to be playable? Even Rise gets to fight while narrating her own battles for some reason.

Jerry: What about your father's car?

George: No, no, no. Out of the question. I was over there today. He's got the good spot in front

Jerry: Are you serious?

George: You don't know what that spot means to him. Once he gets it, he doesn't go out for weeks.

Jerry: How about this, you put your car in the good spot, that'll hold the good spot in front of
the good building, and we can get the good car!

George: Good thinking!

Jerry: Good to meet you!
This sounds extremely likely to be correct, thank you!

I have never seen this episode, but I remember someone talking about it about 2004, so its at least that old. All I know is that it has a plot or subplot where a character gets a really good parking space, then refuses to move his or her car for days even when it becomes inconvenient because they know theyll never get such a good spot ever again.

Pretty ballsy to believe all that, but even then I believe that shot of Biggs in the ending is in the Zack timeline, personally I think in Zack timeline he's the one who fell from the reactor instead of Cloud, so he was still recuperating since he's a regular guy... Jessie's glove on his beside table because she was also at the reactor and grabbed his hand but couldn't hang on and glove fell with him. Not sure how you could think Jessie could survive in the main timeline since her death felt the most definitive out of the three though I would certainly take her being in Rebirth above any of the others...
This is the series that declared "oh actually Rufus survived a laser the size of a building firing directly into his face."

I dont believe any major character will permanently die in FF7R, aside from maybe the villains. The first game went out of its way to show that none of Avalanche died (Im confident Jesse and Wedge survived because of how their deaths were handled), that no one died in the plate collapse, and the Turks are conflicted and their hands are clean of blood. The only person who dies in that entire game is President Shinra.
