That was what this topic was really about. TC was shitting on the cause itself, and would find another excuse if necessary. Had nothing to do with how they were protesting.

I'll admit that the protest's subject matter isn't BS, it's just that their methodology is very childish.

Why would them inconveniencing you affect your views on whatever cause it is? Would you stop believing in protecting animal welfare if some activist group laid down in the road dressed as dogs? People only ever seem to reconsider their stance and blame it on methods when it's a cause they never really supported in the first place and were looking for an excuse to justify not supporting.

Maybe those folks who say that weren't on your side to begin with.

You're at risk of being exterminated by conservatives and you're worried that activists might block too much traffic and force people to agree that you have no right to exist.

To be frank, the average person does NOT want to go to war with its own government and the only ones who do are conservative gun nuts who think the "gay agenda" is going to make their God unhappy, bringing the apocalypse because of it.

Take me for instance. I don't like confrontation and really don't like messing with people unless I'm trying to pull a joke of some kind. I don't feel comfortable putting myself in the way of speeding vehicles for a cause I don't feel like I'm not properly representing.

You talk about nuance and then talking to national leaders without any sense of scale or history.

Because blocking roads is not civil disobedience. It's a "I want my cake and eat it too" kind of idiocy.

With a sit-in, the only thing you're occupying is the seat. With a road blockage, you're taking people hostage by forcing them to stop in the middle of the street, sometimes trapping them in a hazardous spot.

Quite frankly, I don't see why people give these protestors the benefit of the doubt since it's for a cause. If was to rob a bank and then donated that money to the Red Cross, it wouldn't justify my actions. Why should theirs?

What? MLK was radical for his time, and opposed the Vietnam War and was on his way to address an union gathering when he was assassinated. In the last months of his life he began agreeing with Malcolm X on several points.

Also MLK was not some of conservative who limited himself to static protests and speeches. He challenged racially discriminatory laws by deliberately breaking them and insisted that they be arrested for it.

None of which involved blocking roads, trying to force people into a conflict when all the drivers are likely doing are going to work or even visiting loved ones.

King's tactics involved non-violent civil disobidence, like sit-ins at restaurants that refused Black people entry. The famous March on Washington that drew much attention to the issue of Civil Rights was another example.

King knew what worked and what didn't. I'm sure he would condemned blocking roads and would prefer to address the leaders of our nation for change rather than harass folks on their way home.

Really, I see nuance is as dead as disco in these situations here.

That's because you've been taught a whitewashed version of King.

According to his Wikipedia page, King was a believer of non-violence, partially inspired by Gandhi. He wouldn't have forcefully put others in danger by blocking roads. In fact, some other leaders in the Black Rights movement had reservations about King for not being assertive enough, like Malcolm X, according to the page.

From what I have read, he was a great orator and was the kind of person who didn't believe in the phrase "actions speak louder than words". He was a man who understood nuance, which many people have tried to bury since it doesn't allow them to have their cake and eat it too.

We already had a former President start a violent insurrection and I don't want protests that should be done being accused of the same violent mindset, lest people turn away from a good cause because someone can shout "Both sides!" and make others think these causes are not worth fighting for.

By blocking traffic? One of the most effective protests in history was Martin Luther King Jr.'s and I never heard of him blocking traffic and yelling at whoever was in his way...

I think my uncle has those credentials. He is a major employee for his company and oversees dangerous construction projects involving large machinery. I'm pretty sure he's more qualified for this than most.

I hate Nuts & Bolts for removing Banjo and Kazooies powers and abilities and not being able to do any missions or challenges without vehicles.
There was no power items or transformation, just vehicles only.

Imagine playing a Super Man game but Super Man has no power, that isn't good at all.
Imagine Spider Man without his super powers.

It's more akin to giving Spider-Man the Batmobile and he has to use it instead of web-slinging. Both are cool on their own, but it's very much a mis-match.

I've been writing a trilogy of books.

No, I won't explain the premise. For one, it's erotica and significantly NSFW. Two, I'm not giving away any details of the plot. And three, I'm on my second draft of the first book, so I'm far from finished.

My respite care worker thinks it well-written, but my brother got to the third paragraph and told me I'm disgusting and doesn't want to read anymore.

I hope I can actually earn a living from this. I need to start to support myself one of these days as my grandparents aren't going to be around too much longer since they both are in their 70's. Hopefully this is my ticket to independence.

It's quite surreal, isn't it? Before that dream, he would never appear in any of them after he passed away. Even the numerous ones I dream about that I am inside his house.

Oddly enough, I once dreamed my dad's parents were so rich they had their own McDonald's restaurant inside their mansion.

Tory kept getting injured, but as I said Grant was the butt of many "red shirt" jokes. "Red shirt" being a Star Trek thing about minor characters who were killed off in the plot.

There's Tory swinging a lightsaber at Grant and Grant portraying a guy from Wanted who was killed in that movie in a mock scene of the film. There was also Kari tying Grant to a piece of metal during the zombie episode so she could escape and left him to "die".

It's just very bizarre and disheartening at the same time.

It's so weird that Kari was the center of attention during the show's run, yet people still talk lovingly about Grant while she just sort of faded into the background.

I mean, he represented the nerds in a way the other "big 4" didn't.

He even had his own Battlebot in the early era and even was a guest judge in the modern era when they still had celebrity spots on the panel.

I do wonder who inherited that bot. My guess either a relative owns it now or it's in a small museum where it's on display.
