I'm seeing a lot of people saying they've turned the online off because the other players are too distracting. I haven't bothered to try it yet, but I can definitely see how that could be the case. Also I want to figure the stages out on my own and not accidentally watch other people figure stuff out first.

Wall jumping is so not my forte.

And yet I managed to beat the Wall-Climbing Jump Challenge II, which I felt pretty good about!

...and then I had to do it like 8 more times before I finally managed to snag the top of the flagpole.

Suffice to say, I am much better at wall jumping after all that, lol.

Turns out Mario is fun. Who knew?

Quitting for the night. Got through World 1. I think I found all the optional stuff and 100%ed every stage except that one you need a specific badge for. Also I attempted the first Special World stage and noped out, lol.

Elephant is cool, and I like how there's a bunch of different types of stages. The Twilight Spring Thingies stage was a pretty neat concept, too.

I think there's a chance this might be a good game.

I somehow FOMOd myself into buying this. First Mario I've played since 3D Land. It seems good so far.

I think Relm being held captive by Owzer in the WoR counts. Or was she staying of her own free will? I can't remember. I know the monster in the painting was part of it.

I skipped the gen 5 topic because I procrastinated until the last day before deadline and then couldn't finish a functional list in time. My #1 ended up having the most #1s out of all Pokemon in the gen and I regret not being there to give it an even bigger lead.

I also wasn't here for gens 1-4.

It's also just nice to have some cool "monster" designs that aren't really based on anything. I mean it's got a theme, but it's not an animal or inanimate object or anything.

I never got that. The little guys don't look like bugs at all. If you need to make them a dual type, it'd have to be Steel (or you could say they're little fairy dudes I guess).

Yeah, "GameFAQs becoming modern" and "GameFAQs keeping its boards as anything resembling what they are now" seem like statements that'd be at odds with each other. It's hard to imagine a whole bunch of stuff, like this small community board, wouldn't have been completely gutted as part of a total site redesign.

I just remembered back in 2020, Allen added a whole comprehensive catalog feature for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I can't remember anything like that being done for one singular game before. Unfortunately I didn't find it to be as convenient to use as other websites that got created for it, but it was still cool that he made the attempt, and trying to scoop up some of that massive Animal Crossing audience was a pretty smart idea. AFAIK, he kept adding to it with every update the game got.
