Glad Thievul is dead, ashamed for the board that Boltund is dead. But also yeah, Boltund's eyes hold it back. Probably would've been Top 10 for me with better eyes.

But Boltund out before Yamper isn't a surprise to me at all (and it's as it should be... just not yet).

When you see some of the Pokemon Game Freak is giving new evolutions to, it's really feels like they just throw darts at a poster. Runerigus is cool and all, but picking Yamask of all things to get a split evolution is just so odd. It reminds me of how weird it was that Audino was the only Gen V Pokemon to get a Mega Evolution.

Now I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just a weird thing. Choosing to give Applin a third evolution one generation later and not even changing its typing is maybe a bad thing, though.

I think I'm not really feeling the stakes yet. Also the TVA agents being all "oh no the timelines are being pruned" when a day ago that was literally all they did isn't quite landing for me either. I get it, "this changes everything", but I dunno, it feels like the development there's been a bit rushed.

And yeah, when you've only got six episodes, spending the majority of one of them on Brad... ehhh. But supposedly this was considered the only bad episode from people who saw the first four, so I'm not losing hope for the season or anything.

I'm surprised Clobbopus is still in too. Hopefully bodes well for Grapploct.

On the subject of liking Pokemon that are fun to use, I thought Coalossal had a pretty fun moveset to use in-game with Flamethrower, Scald, Earth Power, and whatever Rock move I gave it (sadly it didn't learn Power Gem yet).

I thought the consensus on the Arceus mons is that they weren't great and Sneas was the worst and most pointless.

The consensus seems more that most of the Hisuian forms aren't great, but most of the new evolutions are pretty good.

Lucky you, lol. We probably just play the games differently, but I purposely try to avoid being overleveled, and speed is a much bigger factor then.

Okay, but like when you're playing and repeatedly having to be like "Okay Crabominable, I think you can maybe win this fight" and then oops it dies because it was too slow and also an Ice type, and this happens over and over... It's hard not to notice!

If we didn't already have so many Grass/Ghosts, I think it would be neat to see Eldegoss evolve into a withered husk after all the fuzzies have been blown away.

i get a good enough brain itch from min-maxing whatever the game. i don't play against other players so my eyebrows raise every time you say "competitive", i just have more fun finding ways to be efficient in games. steamrolling everyone with a level 100 wouldn't do anything for me but a guy whose exact type combination let me sneak past a fight that could have been tough, or particular set of moves that let me steamroll an annoying dungeon are the sorts of things that would stick with me well before like, what a pokemon looks like.

I can get this in the sense that I like to maximize my team's type efficiency, even if that means benching some of my most liked designs because they don't fit, but I still have to at least like the design to want to put it on my team.

Well, that's how I used to play before they forced the exp share on everyone, but now I just rotate like 12+ Pokemon in and out. There's like no team building element left for me to consider anymore... :(

Yeah, this. Maybe if the games had even a modicum of difficulty or if I played competitive, I'd try using something I didn't like because it was strong, but they aren't and I don't, so there's just no reason for me to do that.

I wonder if I would've liked Sizzlipede more if it came out in the sprite era. The 3D model just doesn't work for me. But then its artwork doesn't do much for me either, so maybe not.
