Dreepy is a cute lil guy. I often don't have much to say about NFEs. Usually I see them as more of a promise of what's to come, and this guy is definitely promising.

Flapple! I like a little more than Appletun. The fruit wings are cool and I kind of prefer this one's stance. Not as huggable though unfortunately, but I'll still take it.

It seems we are so far going in order of my least favourites to favourites lol guess I gotta hope my number 20 drops next

I never got that. The little guys don't look like bugs at all. If you need to make them a dual type, it'd have to be Steel (or you could say they're little fairy dudes I guess).

Bane_Of_Despair (7) - What a neat design for a Pokemon, does it tecnically make sense? Eh not really just like other Pokemon that have multiple of the same Pokemon count as "one" pokemon, but in this scenario it's one of the coolest uses of that. Also it's pretty adorable too.
ctesjbuvf (8) - I didn't understand this concept for a while but it's so cool. Amazing they made a gimmick like that work so well.
andylt (14) - Very good and unique. I'm not even that bothered that it doesn't get an evo!

Paratroopa1 (14) - at some point I didnt like these guys much but they have grown on me real quickly and even now I feel like Im underrating them at 14th, especially since the recent news that sungwon cho voiced them
XIII_Rocks (16) - Falinks is so bizarre and unique I kind of had to rank it high. Also, the way it's introduced in Sword/Shield, with it worming its way through the small holes in the wall, was very cool.
PrinceOfKoopas (24) - Fighting-type Wiggler. I'm a fan.
Inviso (46) - Why is this pure Fighting? I've said this so much, but this Gen has too many mono-types, and it feels SO pointless.

Monotypes are cool! I think they should put a lil more effort into differentiating some of the more plain ones gameplay-wise though. Like, there's enough mono-grasses with decent utility and barely any offensive coverage, or enough fighting types with high attack, decent bulk but meh speed, and rock/ground/dark coverage but not much else. Give us a crazy bulky and offensively weak fighting-type wall, or a fast hazard setter or something!

Not a huge point against Falinks that they're useless in competitive. They are very cute

This is exactly it. Espeon is my favorite Pokemon, but obviously Espeon is a Psychic mono-type. However, Espeon stands out among Psychic-types because, up until I'd say Meowstic in Gen VI, your standard Psychic-type was either some form of weird-looking humanoid, or just looked extremely bizarre and twisted in general. Meanwhile, Espeon is a Psychic-type that just looks like a standard animal, with the gem on the forehead.

I am glad you like Espeon but that's like the opposite of what my point was given it's basically just a nerfed Alakazam or Mewtwo gameplay-wise. Although I do kinda like it when things look different to their typical typing too, and I think Falinks is cool for being a creature-thingy in a typing dominated by humanoids. More four-legged fighting types too, please.

Inviso (4) - I'm not a huge fan of Volcanrona, so having a really cool-looking Bug/Fire-design was a plus for me.
ctesjbuvf (5) - Terrible type combination be damned, I love this thing.
andylt (6) - Gen 8 doesn't have many bugs, but the ice and fire lines both nail it.
Ermine (6) - Very Cool Lad.
XIII_Rocks (9) - Not my favourite Pokemon that I've used in-game, but it's pretty cool, and I like its G-Max form.

NFUN (15) - It looks like a giant tapeworm, but somehow it just works. They did just enough to keep it interesting without overdesigning it. I especially like the fire X on its face. Somehow it just feels like a good design to have in a world of Pokemon, idk

God damn it I jynxed myself.

Falinks is my 36th favourite Pokemon overall. Pokemon that are actually multiple entities can be a hit or a miss, but this one has some hivemind vibe and influences going for it, on top of being a solid design as well. It's pretty easy to buy that these guys share a brain cell. The silhouette reads as more of a bug type (Koopas wiggler comparison is very apt!), which was once my only complaint, but I've very much grown to love them and enjoy the way they move and interact with their environment. I'm also not bothered by them being mono fighting, even though being half steel would fit the design as well. Like I said with Grapploct, I love to see a pure fighting type that isn't just "what if human but weird"

Good job, Centiskorch! Glad it did so well. I had a look back and somehow Volcarona didn't make top 10 in gen 5, so I'm glad the bug fans have grown since then.

Centiskorch is amazing. Probably would have been my #1 if I participated, since regional forms weren't included. It's just a really good mon, aesthetically pleasing, not overdesigned, and satisfying to use with a few unique traits (like getting both Power Whip and Scald as a Fire type). Plus I love centipedes :)

Centiskorch is my 30th favourite Pokemon. I absolutely love this fucker and I'm not a centipede fan at all. Well designed, sleek, cool typing. I love the big X eyebrows/moustache looking combo. It's a very tasteful way of adding humanized features but not going overboard. Seriously, what a solid as fuck design. I'm proud to be a big fan of bug types. Game Freak has been really solid with them lately!

It's cool, but I think I'd like it better if it was less flat.

Centipedes irl are the fucking worst. But centipedes in Pokemon? That's the good shit. I had Scolipede ranked #1 in Gen V too, I love me some badass centipede Pokemon.

Centiskorch is amazing. I especially love the GMax form. I wasn't expecting it to make top 5, or even top 10, but I'm super glad it did! Good work, ya'll.

Don't really care what wins at this point, though I'm guessing Dragapult. Solid top 10 overall.

but Pokmon bugs are mostly cool. They become much less gross when theyre a cartoon.

Inviso (1) - Unique type combo and just a generally cool concept.
XIII_Rocks (1) - Toxtricity is just an excellent Pokemon imo. I wish it was slightly better in battle but it's not a slouch or anything, and the typing is great. It's just a very well-made, cool Pokemon, viable in-game, a "theme" that runs through its G-Max design and moveset, and it reminds me of that SOAD song. While Gen 8 might be the worst generation of Pokemon overall, Toxtricity is indisputably a win.
Bane_Of_Despair (3) - This gen really brought out some stellar rocker Pokemon, I want Obstagoon and Toxtricity in a band together. Toxtricity is cool as hell, the two forms are neat to have (I prefer Low Key because of the blue but both are great), and the typing is neat as well. And talk about growing into your form, Toxel sucks lol but got the last laugh.
mnk (3) - Poison/Electric is a pretty cool type combo, and they delivered on a really good design for it.
Luster Soldier (18) - Very cool Pokemon with a design resembling a punk rock guitarist lizard.
NFUN (19) - i love his music

It's also just nice to have some cool "monster" designs that aren't really based on anything. I mean it's got a theme, but it's not an animal or inanimate object or anything.

toxtricity kicks ass, easily the best of the gen

sometiems you see a new Pokmon and its like Flapple or something where you see what they did and how they came up with it and its clever

and then sometimes you get some weird purple lizard monster with a guitar chest that is poisonous for some reason. A dream so beautiful you never would have thought to dream it.

I named mine Iggy and Lemmy and they were my best buds

XIII_Rocks (2) - I don't really need to explain why Sirfetch'd fucking rules. It probably should have been fighting/flying, but god damn. That massive leak sword, the shield. It took the mediocre Farfetch'd and made it amazing. Also, Ash's was such a good boy.
ctesjbuvf (7) - This thing is great and has been missing forever. I wish they just gave Farfetch'd an evolution instead of making a new and much worse regional variant. The only bad thing about Sirfetch'd is that it doesn't evolve from regular ol' great Farfetch'd. Loveable otherwise.
Inviso (9) - While I think they could've done so much better given how cool Galarian Farfetch'd looks, Sirfetch'd is still a solid attacker, and I loves me Fighting-types.
Bane_Of_Despair (10) - Farfetch'd has always been an underdog fave for Gen 1 pokemon I feel, so after 7 more generations it getting not only a regional variant but an EVOLUTION to the regional variant was cool to see. What more can really be said, it oozes coolness from its design to its personality. The way you have to evolve into it kinda sucks though.

PrinceOfKoopas (11) - I gotta have a favourable opinion of Sirfetch'd after I wrote that KoopaTV article about how it's a Jewish celebrator of Sukkot. Fantastic article enabled by Sirfetch'd great design.
Paratroopa1 (13) - once upon a time, farfetchd used to be my favorite pokemon and I guess this guy probably would have supplanted him as my favorite, but sirfetchd came just a bit too late after I had already re-evaluated farfetchd to merely be pretty cool
Luster Soldier (15) - Farfetch'd finally gets some well-deserved treatment through a Galarian Form and a regional evolution. The evolution method is an interesting one, requiring 3 critical hits in one battle, which isn't that hard to pull off. It can be made easier by having the Leek as a held item, and using one of the several moves that have an increased critical hit ratio (and maybe using a Dire Hit in battle if necessary). I had considered using this Pokemon in my playthrough of Sword, but this generation was very competitive for those elusive 6 slots for my in-game team.
andylt (29) - I like the good sir but the comically long leeksword is a little too much for me, and I don't love the all-white look. Honestly I prefer G-Farfetch'd's colour and attitude, but this is still a solid fighting duck.

I hated sword and shield as games and Sirfetch'd reps both so i definitely hold the theming against this pokemon.

I didn't mention it but I strongly prefer the Low Key form over Amped form.

It honestly never occurred to me that Dragapult was so popular. I rarely saw people talk about it.

When this ends I want to try to compile a list of Pokemon that I overrated and underrated based on how popular I thought they were.

I overrated Sirfetch'd a bit. Prob should have put it around #20 for me.

This top 2 is exactly the top 2 I expected.

My #2 vs my #11, could be a whole lot worse, overall pretty cool.
