I mean I have Himeko mostly built and I'm working on getting her up to speed to prep for Topaz. But I have Clara, Luka, Nat all built, PMC and Sushang if I am TRULY desperate, I'm good on Phys units unless they release a good Harmony one.

Freeze is great when you can abuse it yeah. So what should I focus on first where Im currently at? Is the jump from lv60 to 70 the priority plus building up my Traces or getting the right Relics? 5* stuff is dropping fairly consistently for me at 60, but its just a single drop so it would take forever to get worthwhile stuff

Yeah the priority is to level up characters to 70 (level affects damage directly, and the final ascension will have their last trace skill) and do light cones as needed.

I forget if you have the highest level trace domain or not. If you do, then it's time to grind those. If you don't, then do a little trace farming for your important units and skills but don't go too hard. In that case the most efficient things to do are to prefarm exp and credits for 70->80 because you definitely have those at the highest level, and also grinding relics. Even though those aren't at max level and you won't get all your 5* stuff you need, you do end up building up a big stockpile of artifact exp that you can dump as soon as you get a good relic.

The trace drop rate just really sucks and personally I wanted to do as little as possible until I had it maxed

This is gonna sound stupid but trust me, the SU7 strat is Rememberance. If you get enough of the good blessings you can pretty much permafreeze the deer and Dissociation also does good damage too. You don't need to build a team around freeze because the blessings and path resonance will take care of it.

It almost works in Swarm disaster too, but Swarm disaster in general is much more RNG reliant, and running into any miniboss that is immune to freeze entirely (fuck you Cordelia) will immediately end your run. IIRC the final phase of the final boss is also immune so it becomes a bit of a DPS race at that point, but you do get to freeze all the adds and the first two phases so idk, it's kind of a gamble.

Swarm is the hardest content in the entire game, and if you want to complete it you'll have to max out your characters.

Yeah I don't really know how I feel about the self-damage stuff. It's a weird gimmick that doesn't seem to go well with much yet? Maybe it'll give me an excuse to use Baizhu in more teams.

Not really a leak, more of a rumor about Lantern Rite that's been kicking around since last year's resurfacing again, but I'll spoiler it anyways just in case.

Rumor is that Cloud Retainer or Madame Ping will be released for Lantern Rite this year, although people have been saying this since their flashback designs were shown in that cutscene so I'm not exactly getting my hopes up. People are really hungry for them. Still, it's interesting! Both of those characters would be high priority pulls for me and I don't have hard pulling plans besides Furina atm so I don't lose anything by saving.

At this point I'm looking forward to the story and exploration way more than pulling. Been pleasantly surprised by Fontaine overall.

I dunno, any banners or even reruns people are particularly looking forward to? I expect most people are going for Furina. Navia and Clorinde need to win me over more. And as far as reruns go I think I'm good except for Yae, whose banners have the WORST timing for me. Maybe Albedo for my boy Itto, though really he needs Gorou cons more...

Well, they won't just stop making relic sets, but they will probably get increasingly specialized. Going by Genshin, we get two new sets about every 3 patches, but here the rate is doubled because they're also doing planars. What you can expect is highly specific sets that are BiS for newly released characters (like how the HP% set in 1.2 was for Blade) or are meant to boost or provide alternatives for old ones. Occasionally, a powerful generalist set that will become new BiS for many units (i.e., hackerspace).

Also going by Genshin as a template, many of the sets that launched with the game are obsolete, especially when it comes to new characters. Which is not to say new characters never use those sets, or that it's a huge power creep, but they're just less used.

1.5 is an Abundance and an Erudition unit, right? So I'd expect another generalist healing set (the current one has a pretty trash 4pc bonus) and/or something that boosts AOE damage or is designed to work with that specific kit. Erudition in general just kinda needs a boost though.

Topaz and Screwllum are my only highly anticipated characters so far, agnostic of actual kits (waifu/husbando > meta, obviously).

Rerun-wise I'm waiting for Silver Wolf to come back, or a less badly timed DHIL. Maybe Luocha? But I don't really care for him. Meta-wise I really would appreciate another 5* sustain unit besides Gepard, preferably Abundance, but maybe some other upcoming unit could do fine.

Does the buff indicator on Fu Xuan's status bar not flash to show when it's about to end?

I was just doing the math and there's somewhere around 20-25 wishes left in this patch and we can expect 70-80 by the very end of next patch and Topaz's banner. With ~160 wishes being the worst case scenario of going to pity twice. If that helps.

Alright I've just had Lynx yank Natasha's set for now which is Post-Op convo and 2pc Disciple/Hackerspace (really don't want to farm the healing% set right now). So now it's just traces. Yay...

Also I did Fu Xuan's trial and damn her animations are insane. That's the real power creep

Lynx' Ult is definitely a little iffy for solo sustain. Definitely advise sticking with an outgoing healing boost body.

What about the rope, does she need ER or is HP fine?

However cheap Pela is, I built Kafka, Sampo, Luka, and Welt and I straight up don't have the exp books or any Nihility traces to spare. They're releasing another dot unit next patch. Pela's staying on the bench.

I gave up after 8. Still have yet to 30 star though I am getting 24. Kafka team shreds things but my other teams are sub-par. I hate dealing with the spear guy that summons adds and heals himself and trying to brute force the DPS with Seele was driving me nuts.

Sure motivated me to build Welt up a bit more though!

Yeah having to swap characters to micromanage them, charge up their attacks, and set up combos is what makes the combat dynamic and fun. I get finding it annoying but that makes the whole thing go, having "good" partner AI would make the game dull.

My only real complaint is that Barret and Aerith's movesets aren't quite as polished as Cloud and Tifa's (and in Interlude, Yuffie's which is SO good). Aerith at least has very strong payoffs that make up for it, but Barret got done so dirty.

I know people who haven't played the original and love Remake. It's fine.

I would say that you will definitely get more having played the original, or at least knowing a summary. There are plenty of winks and nods to the original. You also don't need "nostalgia" really because I was honestly not as big into the original game as Remake or other FFs! But also, more cynically, this is a blockbuster AAA video game and it's also designed to accomadate new players to the FF7 world to sell more copies to people, while also selling them on the idea that they should buy and play the other games. Whatever you choose, you're part of the intended audience here.

Because also there's tons of nods to other stuff I haven't played like Dirge of Cerberus and the fuckin like...Turks mobile phone game, and at some point you gotta not care about knowing every detail and just let the thing stand on its own.

Not particularly, though options are generally limited for finesse+light weapons. The go-to finesse weapon is a rapier which has the biggest damage die (d8) but isn't light. Shortswords and scimitars are your other options for both, they use d6s. But those need martial proficiency.

However I think there's just more (and better) magical daggers with bonus stats and abilities which are way more important than the damage die.

The Unity changes are definitely targeted specifically at games like Genshin. But MHY has more money than God and I'll expect they will be either able to pay the fees or possibly fight Unity in court.

I think they're pretty limited in their ability to change their microtransaction model for the worst without causing massive backlash, but I'm sure they could come up with something sinister like making units useless without extra cons or weapons or something, idk.

Oof I should have paid attention to the event schedule and saved my immersifiers, I'm gonna have to spend 320 energy on them. Oh well.

That could have been 32 runs of trace calyxes where I don't get a single purple drop! Smh

I need to BARELY PULL AT ALL on Jing Liu because other than needing 1 Tingyun I don't need a single Eidolan from that banner. Like, optimally, I risk the early and build the on Fu Xuan until I can do one 10 pull and pray for the 50/50. A fool's errand.

And then I need a shit ton from the Topaz Banner. Like, just fucking flood it with tickets.

I'd say just get Tingyun from the shop but the next cycle is probably not gonna be until next year huh

I could farm Rutilant for Seele and Keel for Bronya and Gepard, but let's be real I'm probably just gonna go get more Sealing Station because my Atk rope situation is TRASH

As F2P I've saved up around 100 pulls since the start of Kafka's banner. If there's maybe 20ish pulls left in this version, and we get around 80 for next version by the time Topaz banner ends, then realistically I only have like 40 pulls to throw at Fu Xuan and Lynx before getting into dicey territory.

Guess it's time to finish some of those side quests I've been saving for a rainy day...

That looks like one of those small events we get to fill time. Should be fun, I'll definitely take that over some of these combat events.

It does make me curious about the long term plans for SU. This is all pretty clearly built around Daniel and Fu Xuan, are we going to keep getting big one-off expansions for other banners? Will they just update the bosses and rewards? Is it gonna be merged with the weekly SU and have artifacts added? I dunno!

Since there's no resin sink, honestly it feels like I'm eventually gonna hit a point where it's not worth it to keep running Swarm to get the last couple hundred gems or whatever from 100%. Hell, I'm still missing some of the rare events from normal SU.

Oh the questions are leveling up the paths? Good to know, I'd just been answering them randomly and not really paying attention.

Also screw Fu Xuan I NEED Lynx and her AOE debuff cleanse. Going to be devastated if I can't get her, my 4* luck is so bad.

Yeah ok that did it. Got the special Remembrance rank up that gave me a bunch of its blessings as well. Still needed the double sustain team after all that though! Difficulty 5 is gonna be rough.

There's no reward for getting a Cross Resonance for the first time right now, but they do say new when you get them for them first time, so I'm working my way through all of them just in case.

Yes there is, like how the improved path resonances count as a blessing for the index's completion, these are two more. So now the max reward is 30 gems for 24 blessings for each path.

God damn it I had a run of Swarm 4 on Nihility (Kafka/Sampo/Nat/Gepard) that demolished everything until the final boss. Needed a bit more AOE, and those wind shear debuffs can just delete my units. No way am I getting through this without a defensive path of some kind.

Seems worse than damage% which you can only get from sphere but it sure will make building her a lot easier not having to rely on substats!

The combination of being a galaxy brain character who was difficult to calculate for theorycrafters, lack of easy access to C6 where she scales very well, and being an Erudition unit that has very weak LC options did her irreparable damage. Then also Quantum got a huge boost with Silver Wolf and soon Fu Xuan.

And tbh I still don't know if she's worth building at low eidolons, though I'm a Seele haver so I don't really need to worry about it.

I still have other units to build though. I'm in the same boat with my Welt needing attention, Luka needs talents and relics, Seele has an embarrassing 62/79 crit ratio, and Gepard has 0 speed substats so is still too slow.

Probably. What level are you? You get a big power spike at 5, so if you're lower maybe do something else.

I'm not sure but I *think* you can return to the forge until you hit a point of no return late in the second act. At any rate, the journal is very good at marking off quests you can no longer do so just keep an eye on it.

Fair point, I don't actually know what teams people are running him in. But his appeal seems more gimmicky than optimal. I mean let's be real, hyperbloom is probably one of his strongest teams but that's no fun.

Also reminds me I don't have Rosaria either! Besides that those three it's just Kriara who is still very new. But me and the Cryo element just don't get along.
