I only played a little last night, but I quickly noticed that each press of A gives you a preset amount of boost, kind of like a mushroom in Mario Kart. You don't have to hold A the whole time like in regular F-Zero games. Thats how it was in the original F-Zero. You would have 3 turbos to use in every race. You could use them all in a row and blow your load, save them for strategic moments (cutting across mud, using them on a ramp to reach a hidden shortcut, etc.), it didnt matter. Just press the button and get a 5 second boost. In the original game, it was indicated by the 3 Ss in the lower right. Another thing they don't tell you is that KOing cars increases your power meter (up to 3 times I think?) and when you KO another player, it refills your power meter You know that scene in Avengers when Thor blasts Iron Man, and Jarvis tells him his power is now at 400%? Thats the feeling when you have low power and you KO someone. How are you handling sharp turns? I'm still toying between braking, letting go of gas, and drifting I guess with the strafe buttons like MK. Its already been said, but letting up on the gas while doing the strafe turns (sharp turns) is the way to go. I dont really brake ever during a race.
