Its unreal how the switch can barely run ps3 era graphics in 2023

How did Red Dead wind up being on Switch? I basically avoid any 3d games that are non-Nintendo on Switch, anything like that I get on Xbox. I've never even tried something demanding on Switch.

Red Dead runs fine on Switch.

Skyrim is still $70 on Switch lmao

The Switch successor is rumored to be around as powerful as an original PS4. Thats still incredibly weak for when it ends up coming out.

A PS4 with new architecture like DLSS and ray tracing so it's not really a direct comparison.

Thats irrelevant, as its competitors have similar tech and are far more powerful.

The smart move continues to be only buying first and second party games on Nintendo consoles and using something else as your primary platform for third parties.

PC makes the most sense due to the Steam Deck for portability, getting all Microsoft exclusives day 1, and getting all Sony exclusives going forward seemingly after 6 months to 2 or 3 years depending on the game. Not to mention, either the PC or the Steam Deck can emulate your legally purchased and dumped Switch games better than the Switch can natively run them.

PS makes the next most sense because of aforementioned exclusives.

Xbox makes the least sense as they dont really have even timed exclusives and are thus pointless if you have a gaming PC.

The Steam Deck is also around the ballpark of a PS4 for that same reason yes. Current gen games often usually down to them fine anyway and they aren't even designed to account for that.

it'll be PS4 power. nintendo hasn't tried to be comparable since the GC. but it is crazy how bad the pokemon games run when they're barely look better than the 3ds games. just have to accept nintendo games are never gonna be anything to look at. they're just gameplay.

The Switch 2 doesnt really need to be super powerful to succeed

Lets be honest the Pokemon games looking and performing like they are is due to Game Freak more than the Switch. RDR, Skyrim, Zelda, Witcher 3 etc, all look and play better than their games.

The gameplay is the problem there, but I play GameFreak for that.
