This is one of those things where price increases and anti-consumer shit gets everyone riled up on the Internet and everyone claims they're cancelling, and their subscribers and profits keep going up and up. Sadly, all of these corporations are learning they can bend over the customers and the customers will take it each time.

The thing is, a lot of these subscription services also go out of their way to make cancelling as difficult as possible in hopes that many people just don't go through the effort.

However, when people's wages are not going up at the same rate these services are. People just won't have the money to pay.

Ultimately these companies are trying to squeeze out as much as they can now before the system collapses on itself.

Because it's not an actual issue. You can check your phone's battery usage and phones will even show battery usage when app is active vs background. Apps by far are not utilizing the camera and microphone in the background and sending it to a 3rd party, because anyone can see that app is using a lot of resources and remove it. Not to mention the fact your phone is constantly dying and requiring charging multiple times a day would be a big indicator to check what is using the resources.

If you want to live in paranoia about a problem that doesn't exist, go ahead.

I definitely don't know cable prices nowadays, but I feel like subscriptions are catching up. I have the Live+ No Ads Hulu/ESPN/Disney bundle and Netflix. Already around $100 bucks right there.

The thing with subscriptions, you can always cancel and renew whenever you want access to shows on their platform. You can swap Netflix for Hulu and vice versa when the need arises.

Cable AFAIK doesn't really have the option to select the channels you want access to.

Though going through the hassle of canceling subscriptions and swapping what subscriptions you are currently subscribed to can be quite the pain and cable isn't really a better option either that I just imagine people will go back to the other methods.

If your phone had it's camera and microphone constantly on and sending the data to some 3rd party, your phone would never last more than a few hours on a full battery.

MCU has been really hit or miss after endgame because endgame itself could have been the finale for MCU. Plus I think the overall hype for superhero movies is going down and people are more interested in watching something else.

I'm salaried. I'm still required to make X hours a payperiod (which is just 8hrs/workday). But I work as a software engineer and I don't have a strict clock-in/clock-out time. So I can start my day whenever and leave whenever plus I work from home so no commute either.

If I do need to work more hours a couple days to finish up something, then I usually just leave early on Friday.

Dems. They didn't initiate it but they did ultimately vote to oust McCarthy. And showed just how fractured and dysfunctional Republicans are. But it has ultimately resulted in somebody who seems even worse than that weasel.

The dems didn't initiate the vote and McCarthy didn't held up his end on the deals he made with the dems.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. I do not feel entitled to ad free Youtube. I just don't like the direction Youtube has taken. Once they were a site where people could share videos without earning money in their minds. I was cool with that and would have accepted small ads here and there. Now they are everywhere, for minutes, even between videos. They became necessary to fund thousands of video creators since everyone wants to earn money these days. I'm not interested in watching them. It's as simple as that. Youtube isn't important to me, so as long as they throw countless ads onto me, I don't feel the urge to visit their site anymore.

Also if the creator doesn't go out of their way to manually place the ads, youtube will auto place ads which often just interrupt the flow of the video.

Cable TV got away with long ad breaks in between shows, because the shows are designed around an ad break halfway through and so the flow isn't lost.

YouTube will place ads on videos where the creator declined and take all the ad money instead of the normal split. Not to mention the sheer amount of ads now. Multiple unskippable 15-30 second ads at the start and throughout the video.

Most creators making money from doing youtube are getting money through sponsors and subscriptions, not ads.

If youtube wants to place intrusive ads on every video, then I will gladly block all ads on youtube.

The Democrats were being adults. McCarthy didn't keep his promise and thus Democrats didn't save his ass from his own mistakes.

PB is generally a one note character who appears once or twice a season since his debut. Hardly too important if his voice isn't perfect.

Once you go into the Shadowfell to obtain the Nightsong, you can no longer return back to any other area except the Shadow area and you are locked into completing the Moonrise Tower and moving onto Act 3.

Make sure you check the mountain path, because the mountain has some Act 2 stuff worth completing.

Going to Moonrise won't automatically progress the story I believe. I didn't do it that way, but you can go there and infiltrate. Getting the relic WILL progress it though.

Also yeah, Moonrise tower has some stuff to do as well. But once you go to get the Nightsong, you are locked into attacking the tower.

Then McCarthy shouldn't have gone back on the deals he made with the Democrats.

I learned the guy who wrote the Sperm episode wrote the opener for season 7.

I think he (homeless Justin Long) made a good point that with the other causes of death, were stuff like accidents, illnesses, etc., where we have people actively trying to diminish those numbers, while with mass shootings, we have people actively trying to kill others.

also, there's a time and place to give off causes of death stats, and after a mass shooting might not be the best one, if you care about the human element.

it just feels like an unnecessary flex of knowledge.

BG3 is a single player game first and the single player experience is going to be widely different than a multiplayer experience.

BG3 takes a lot of liberties from the 5e system for it to work well as a video game. I believe you can be someone who isn't too fond of D&D can still enjoy BG3, because they made adjustments for it to work within the medium.

Sorta. Only for sneak attack but not in the way that is normally used for everything else. It used to be a big deal to have a familiar flanking the enemy for that big ole advantage. That's how I played my Eldritch Knight.

Flanking is an optional rule in 5e. Besides, BG3 has a lot of homebrew rules that are good in their own ways. Drinking potions is a Bonus Action and you can shove as a bonus action.
