Is Blast Corps really that far off people's radar that no one has mentioned that opening post is a direct reference to it? It was widely considered one of the best N64 games, but I guess the younger internet audience isn't familiar with it anymore because there hasn't been an N64 nostalgia revival yet.

I kept scrolling thinking "surely the next post will mention one of the greatest games of all time...surely..."

I loved Blast Corps SO much. The somersaulting mech was may absolute favorite. Really tricky to land the hit just right, but the power when you did was so satisfying.

I know I'm about to get a lot of flak for this, but I have never seen a good horror movie. I don't believe it's possible. I've seen many movies people claim to be good horror movies, but every single one of them fell flat for me. No movie has ever made me scared/anxious/suspenseful/etc. They're way too predictable and telegraphed.

Especially jump scares. Dumbest concept in film, imo. If a movie has jump scares, it's instantly trash and the director was phoning it in. The only exceptions being jump scares in non-horror movies, because that's the only time you don't expect it. Still not very effective at scaring, but at least it has a chance and it keeps you guessing.

I remember it too. We made out like KINGS that year because none of the other kids were out. Instead of walking, we all piled into my mom's van and she drove us from house to house. We'd hop out, sprint up to the door, get our candy, and sprint back to the nice hot van. People were just dumping their bowls of candy into our bags because they were never going to give it all away with no other kids in sight.

My tags are almost all some form of "racist conservative troll." They're the only ones worth noting so that I don't accidentally take them seriously at any point.

I had an entire weekend home alone when I was 16. Parents were taking the weekend to celebrate their anniversary, and my older brother was away at college.

My goal that saturday was to match my age. I succeeded.

Has there been a good prime-time game yet this season? Frankly, I can't even remember a single prime-time matchup so far this season. They've all been completely forgettable at best. Especially Thursdays...

That Seahawks/Browns game was pretty damn entertaining.

I wish I could say the Browns choked that (which they definitely did), but let's be honest they shouldn't have even been in the fight in the first place. This defense is genuinely scary good. Shame the offense is still being run by Kevin Stefuckup.

Mostly Starfield lately. Picked up and played through Cocoon yesterday too and it was pretty great, if a bit simple.

One of the worst Final Fantasy games ever made and it's not really even close to being good, let alone excellent.

I'll say that you've already won half the battle. You have a genuine, legitimately good reason for quitting. You want to be there to watch your kid grow up. That's more than most people can say when they try to quit, and it's unbelievably helpful.

Another thing I found helpful when quitting is that, whenever you have a craving, remind yourself that you already made the decision. You already weighed the pros and cons, and you decided to quit. Don't let yourself re-evaluate that. You made your choice, and it's not up for another discussion.

And my last bit of advice is to not just let your friends/family know you're quitting. But to actively tell them to point out when you're being grumpy or getting short-tempered. Have them remind you in the moment that "hey, this isn't who you want to be, and this is the reason you wanted to stop." Not only does it give them some agency when it comes to dealing with your mood swings during the transition (which you almost certainly will have), but it also gives you an immediate reminder of your reason for quitting. Which, again, makes a world of difference when it comes to sticking with it.

Technically yes, but I have zero faith that anybody currently in a position to write such a bill could do so without some really shady bullshit being hidden in the wording. So I'm unsure until I could read and look into the bill myself.

Twilight Princess is terrible. It's the only Zelda game I've ever played and not finished because I was so disinterested. Didn't care about any of the new characters whatsoever. And the gameplay was a downgrade from OoT and MM.

Though I'm also realistic enough to accept that even a terrible Zelda game is still worthy of an above average score. They're mostly well-polished, have a mostly-coherent story, and the features and gameplay elements are all functional. Even if the particulars don't resonate with me personally.

EDIT: And by "above average" I mean like ~7/10.

I have never in my life played a game where weapon durability had anything other than a purely negative impact on the gameplay.

In every possible game, I have eventually used mods to remove the feature entirely or cheat engine to give infinite durability and my enjoyment of the game has improved every single time. Without exception. I can't think of any other mechanic that has been so universally shit but devs absolutely refuse to just let it fucking die.

You can debate all you want about whether the mistake was malicious or not. But the facts remain that the woman should be forced to leave the property and the landlord should be forced to bring the property into compliance. And neither of those things are happening right now.

It's not food snobbery to say that Dominos is trash-tier pizza. So is Pizza Hut.

Papa Johns, Hungry Howie's, Georgio's Oven Fresh Pizza, Little Ceasar's...fuck, even Sbarro is better than those two shitholes. And those are just the other chain pizza options in my area. There's even better ones most other places. Dominos is garbage.

One of my favorite games of all time, and probably the single game I have completed the most times (including like half a dozen playthroughs with 100% completion).

I will never not love Skies of Arcadia.

I like Papa Johns a lot. Get it pretty regularly, maybe once every couple weeks. Definitely prefer a couple local places, but sometimes I just want something quick and cheap. And Papa Johns is probably the best of the chain pizzas around here.

God dammit I hate SteelSeries software. Their products are great, and I've never had a problem with the hardware. But holy shit the bloatware they force onto you is absurd and breaks constantly.

Just had SteelSeries GG update (which is already annoying, since Engine was 100x better) that for some reason decided it was going to reduce the brightness of my keyboard lights to like 5% (but ONLY on the profile I custom set up, all the default built-in ones had no issues), without a setting for brightness anywhere to be found in their software. So it was just stuck so dim I thought the RGB was turned off for some reason. Could barely even see it. So I manually went and downloaded the exe for the previous version, installed it, and everything was instantly back to normal. Problem solved?

NOPE. Because you CANNOT TURN OFF AUTOMATIC UPDATES. Period. They simply do not give you that option. Auto updates are mandatory according to them. So if I ever turned my PC off again, it would automatically update back to the broken version. -_-

Thankfully, I could set everything up the way I want and then uninstall the SS software entirely, and everything continues to work just fine. But that means I can't mess with the settings in the future. Which is obviously not really a solution. So does anybody have any suggestions for other software for controlling the RGB/headset/etc. settings? Since it's a laptop, just getting a new non-SteelSeries keyboard isn't exactly an option, so it needs to be compatible. Don't know if that's a problem or not, as I've never really messed around with this kind of customizing before this laptop.

If he had it appraised and they intentionally told him it was worth significantly less than it actually was in order to resell it at higher profit later, then yes, the guy has a case. Not sure if it would be considered fraud or what, but an appraiser intentionally misrepresenting the value of an object has got be breaking some kind of ethics codes at the very least.

Weird choice of characters, tbh. Iron Man looks great, and the angular "cut gem" style makes sense for a suit of armor. Black Panther isn't bad either. But Spiderman is way too wiry and Hulk is way too bulky for the style to look good at all.

Captain America would have looked awesome with a badass crystal shield, and seems like a weird one to omit.

Anything that leads to an item duplication glitch, tbh.
