I spent one weekend there. And honestly, as someone who isn't into gambling or non-stop partying, I still really enjoyed just walking up and down the strip and checking out the gaudy af hotels and stuff. I'd go back.

But that same logic applies in the reverse. People aren't thinking about the consequences when they commit their crimes. A kiddie diddler isn't going to suddenly be inspired to murder bc the law changed. And most diddlers prey upon their victims multiple times, bc it's someone they know and have access to. They aren't looking to kill the kid they molest

Hard to compare. The way we listen to music now is so different. MJ obviously ain't gonna put up the same streaming numbers as TSwizzle.

But also due to streaming in part, MJ was everywhere for everyone. Nowadays anyone can kinda just ignore stuff they don't wanna listen to and only stream their own favs. Probably harder to avoid MJ back in the day that it is to avoid TSwift today.

If I have 3 employees working at a shitty subway and suddenly they're making $5 more an hour, I'm out an extra $15 every hour. Ok but one goddamn footlong combo in that wretched place is like $15 so all I need to do to recoup that extra expense is sell one more sandwich!

Depends. Were they expecting the host to have beer? If not then Id say its kind of half ok and half a slap on the face. Like, wanting to have beer at a social gathering is normal. But if the host explicitly disallows alcohol then you should probably just play by their rules I suppose. As controlling as that may be. When we had our shower we invited a lot of extended family that we hadnt seen since the pandemic. We wouldnt dream of telling them what to bring because we werent close enough for that. I felt really bad inviting people I wasnt close with but my mom insisted.

Yeah. This was supposed to be immediate family and close friends but then MiL decided to make it a family reunion with her extended family we've never met.
