MLB is on the verge of dying if the Astros win again.

Considering how big the sport still is and how much attendance was up this year with the new rule changes, I doubt the sport is at any risk of dying. I know that I'll stop watching for good if the Astros win the WS again, but I don't think enough people will quit watching over the Astros for it to make a difference.

Welp, can't say I saw Free Shipping winning this slugfest, but here we are. Gigabyte broke its self-righting pole off again and that was that. Oh well.

All four of the first round fights were pretty mediocre, but Death Roll vs. Gigabyte in the second round was a real slobberknocker. Gigabyte got the win, but both bots delivered a bunch of big hits.

I did that even before this anti-adblock thing started because I mostly watch YouTube on my TV though the app on my Xbox, so I couldn't use an adblocker even if I wanted to. Plus, I get Premium cheap because I split a family plan with my brother and a couple of his friends.

I love how people jokingly called DragonForce "Nintendo metal" and "video game metal" for years, and now they're fully self-aware and are making video game inspired songs like this, Heart Demolition, and the Skyrim-themed The Last Dragonborn that was on their previous album.

It's just Discotek pulling the TV series out of licensing hell and giving the first season a blu-ray release, which also means that it might end up on Crunchyroll at some point in the future too. The release even includes the English dub with Cristina Vee voicing Nanoha.

Surprisingly, MoistCr1TiKaL might not even be the weirdest English dub voice actor announcement of the past 24 hours. The dub cast for the next Ghibli film (and the final Hayao Miyazaki film if he's to be believed) was just announced, and DAVE BAUTISA has a role in it. What is this timeline?

I fought a Tearlaments in DC

Dude has some major balls to still be running Tearlaments in this Kashtira-focused format, especially considering how absolutely decimated by the banlist they are now and how much luck they take to play them with their usual play style. I only use Tears as a sub-engine in one of my Branded variants now, and I would still never take that deck into a serious place like the DC when Kashtira will probably be everywhere and hard-counters it.

I'm not sure what I'll play for this DC yet. My best options on my main account are Spright, Floowandereeze, Sky Striker, or Mikanko, and on my side account I'm deciding between Purrely, Labrynth, or Mikanko again. Mikanko will probably be reserved as my "save for if I get frustrated" deck on both of them.

A great head coach with tons of goodwill who refuses to retire gracefully and stays far beyond his welcome... it's Don Shula all over again.

So far I have the first 2 seasons on DVD and the 2 movies. I really hope we get the rest.

I'm not a physical anime collector at all because I don't have the extra money for it (the only physical release I own is the collector's edition of my absolute #1 favorite anime of all time, Revue Starlight) but a lot of recent Discotek licenses have also ended up being added for streaming on Crunchyroll a bit after their blu-ray releases. Gunbuster just got added to CR earlier this month, new dub and all, and I'm going to watch it soon. So that's what I'm hoping for with Nanoha, IGPX, Lovely Complex, and the rest of this batch too.

Nanoha

Nanoha and IGPX were the two announcements that got me the most hyped. Nanoha is one of my favorite anime, IGPX is a Toonami classic, and they've both been stuck in licensing hell for a long time. For Nanoha in particular, if Discotek also gets the later seasons, it means there's a small bit of hope that they might dub the seasons beyond the first two that were never dubbed before.

This was crazy enough to deserve its own topic, but I may as well link to it here too: MoistCr1TiKaL is going to be in an anime dub.

Discotek licensed and is dubbing the classic shoujo anime Lovely Complex, and they got Charlie to do a cameo. He voices a character in the MC Risa's favorite video game.

Just ran into a Runick Kashtira deck that was trying to deck me out. The duel only went 6 turns (unlike my last tussle with Kashtira which went a whopping 23 turns) but I was able to beat them with my Sky Strikers with only 5 cards left in my deck at the end of the duel. Playing with Sky Strikers feels like I'm playing a bullet hell game like Gradius or Touhou, trying to dodge and weave my way through the opponent's waves of interactions to break down their board. It's very fitting for what's basically the "mecha magical girl" archetype to have this playstyle, and it's part of why I love it so much.

The new Men In Black movie looks great

Didn't watch the game (still boycotting Astros games) but I saw that Jordan Montgomery shut them down and the Rangers won. First win to the good guys.

I just had a 23-turn duel where I somehow outlasted a Kashtira deck with my Sky Striker deck despite not being able to summon any Sky Striker monsters until turn 20. It took almost an hour of real time, it involved me stealing their Arise-Heart twice, and I hated every second of it. But a win's a win.

It's been a couple of weeks since I installed Star Lusts, and it still feels weird to be playing a hentai game for basically everything except the hentai stuff. I've unlocked two lewd scenes and haven't even bothered to watch them yet because I'm too focused on the game itself. The shoot-em-up gameplay in this game is genuinely really fun, especially since you bring three girls with different weapons and skills to each stage and can swap between them on the fly. It sucks that some stages are gated off by your team's levels being too low, but stages that are around or slightly below your team's levels feel fantastic to play. Plus, if you're short on time or just don't feel like playing on a certain day, you can sweep through all of your dailies in like 5 minutes, which is really fast compared to some other gacha games I've played.

So yeah, Star Lusts is really good if you like bullet hell games like Gradius or Touhou and are fine with (or actively enjoy) the extra lewdness on the side.

No, it was actually just standard Kashtira PUNK play with a higher end hand (Unicorn start, E-tele, any PUNK, and a Contact Fusion, and if you do the combo right, you essentially start with a 7 card hand cuz of the PUNK field spell). It's resistant to Nibiru because you can make Baronne before the 5th summon. The Ariseheart was made in turn 3 in order to take advantage of the Shangri-ira effect requirement.

Oh wow, color me surprised. When I see synchros along with a rank 7 engine, my first thought is always Tomahawk into Auroradon bullshit.

Great touchdown by Tyreek to give the Dolphins the lead, but the refs actually flagged him for taunting for that celebration. By the letter of the rule, it probably is, but I've also seen a lot worse ones not get flagged, so it's still annoying.

When you say an opinion on the Internet

I've mostly just been playing Pokemon Crystal Legacy (a recently released rom hack of Crystal that's really good) and that's it aside from gacha game dailies. I also downloaded the open beta for the upcoming Call of Duty game and I'm going to try that out tonight and tomorrow while I have the chance.

I'm probably in the minority when I say that I'm a Disturbed fan but I really, really, really don't like Down With The Sickness. I think that song in particular is absolutely awful, I think their first two albums as a whole are just "meh" overall, and it wasn't until Ten Thousand Fists when they started really hitting their stride and I became a fan of them. But since then, I think they've been great.

I think Disturbed are fucking great, so I guess Godsmack are technically "worse" but I still consider them pretty decent too.

Finally got around to watching the episode on DVR, and it was great. Whiplash putting on two technical masterclasses in the first two rounds and then winning an absolute brawl with Black Dragon in the final was an awesome sight to see. It's such a versatile bot and Matt Vasquez is such an excellent driver.

Bloodsport getting one-punched and Fusion catching on fire again were also fun. At least Reese took it in stride. He's definitely the most likeable of the Ewert family.

In other news, I spent over 2,000 SR dust to get a royal rare of a card that I'll never actually summon and will only be used as a Diviner target.

But she's the cutest Diviner target ever, she was a running meme on the Master Duel subreddit because she should have been added to the game like a year ago based on her IRL release date, and I'm just really happy to finally have her in the game after so long.

I spent part of today re-evaluating all of my decks and dismantling some decks that I either hadn't used in a long time, wasn't satisfied with their performance since I built them, or knew their days were numbered after a recent banlist hit. On my main account I dismantled my Melffy, Trickstar, Zoodiac Tri-Brigade, and Spright Tri-Brigade decks, and on my side account I dismantled both of my Eldlich decks (pure and Zombie World) and both of my Dark World decks (pure and Branded). I also dismantled a bunch of SR's and UR's that weren't seeing any use lately, including finally putting the Adventure engine out of its misery after thinking for months that I might use it again one day.

After this cleaning out process, I now have a total of 26 different decks across both of my accounts: 11 decks on my main account, 12 decks on my side account, and 3 decks (Kozmo, Marincess, and Mikanko) that I have built on both accounts.

Can I ask a question of the group?

Is it a disservice to the top ranked teams that they don't play in the first round? Baseball is a bit of an everyday sport and does it do teams well to have like, almost a week off before they play their first playoff game?

I'm not suggesting that we should make it easier for those teams or anything but like, have players come out and said the time off affects their game?

Is it a reward for those top ranked teams, after 162 games, to then sit for a week?

Just curious what people think.

I already made the comment earlier in this topic that the 5 days off the top seeds get might be having a negative effect, but I also think 8 LDS series over 2 years of the new format is still too small of a sample size to judge. 5 of 8 top seeds losing after their bye in these first 2 years is more than half, but 4 of those 5 to lose like that are the Dodgers and Braves who already had a reputation for being playoff underachievers even before this new format. It'll take more time, more seasons, and other teams getting the chance to have a first-round bye before we know for sure.
