I can only see there existing one massive virtual world simulation important enough for people to own cars and houses in it. Maybe that's just the sci-fi perspective on it, but I can't fit buying a virtual house for the cost of a real house into the world as it exists now.

You can layer infinite worlds like that on top of each other.

Further, so much of the argument I used for you being scum was tied to Kirby being scum

Kirby had even more reason to be skeptical you were scum, but chose not to. Why? Because you had Abacus and Chang saying "yeah it might be BCT" you seemed like an easy mislynch. He couldn't turn it off, he saw that victory condition and had to seize it.

I mean to me it's a matter of scale

The realistic use case application, where you're playing a massive world where you'd want cars or land or property won't be able to run on a private server. The manpower needed to program and maintain it will be such that private servers for the game won't exist.

If I'm scum it's way way easier for me to just say you're scum and be done with it. You shouldn't worry about losing the game that way.

What lost Kirby the game was going over to you possibly being scum. He should have tried to pair me and Sultan and insist you had to be town. Because man I went hard on you being scum yesterday.

Kirby is playing the court of public appeals with his suspicions though and saw other people thinking you had merit as a lynch target too.

Anyone who thinks I'm scum should be inherently suspicious of anyone I'm trying to get lynched as possibly being town. Kirby was not and became "convinced"

If I own a digital object, and the company that created it and lets me do stuff with it abandons it, should I be hoping another company decides to manage it for me instead, or should I want a way for anyone to use it, like a private game server, now that it's obsoleted as a commercial device?

The first thing you need to do in mafia is realize that people make mistakes. Lots of mistakes. I don't think Abacus saying that Ctes flipping town makes Sultan look better has any meaning whatsoever. It's just theory that ended up wrong. Same as me saying "I don't think Ben votes Sbell and says he's town when he does if scum"

Motivations and (lack of) consistency are the way you find tells. Someone guessing someone's alignment wrong based on speculation is not a tell.

Can we say either Abacus or Chang are 100% town? No. Can we say like 99%? Yes. Trying to think they might be scum, if you're town, just generates distracting noise.

Alternatively, if you think BCT x Kirby is impossible for some reason, then sure why not lynch Sultan today.

I wanted to see if BCT would get hysterical and countervote me. I believe we had a connection yesterday and he legitimately thought I was town-- hysterical as he may be with OMGUS I don't believe he would go back on that read today. And he didn't.

Compare BCT's consistency vs Sultan's and it's telling.

As for BCT vs Sultan as Kirby's mate there are a lot of angles to take there

For me the obvious tell is this

Yesterday Sultan was saying "there's no way Lopen is scum he's putting in so much effort"
Today Sultan is saying I'm possibly scum even though nothing has changed aside from Kirby being scanned town.

This is similar to Kirby's stance on BCT gradually softening to suspect him more and more as the day went on.

The tells are in how open they're leaving lynches. If you're town, you need to have this game closer to solved by now.

He is clearly faking it at this point in the game because he either couldn't afford Ghost Belle due to cash problems or wanted to save money to mass lightning storm the Ghost Belles off the field tomorrow.

BCT x Sultan I just have a lot of trouble imagining. I think Kirby's fixation with the godfather existing might have been his endgame mislynch gameplan and he was keeping suspicion of it up due to being godfather and knowing he could use it no matter who hb scanned.

If you want to play dangerously, go with me and defy the results of the cop scan. Or convince me to vote BCT/Sultan I suppose. Or vote me. Whatever.

I'm not willing to put any more effort into the game except at request-- I'm not going to have a ton of time this weekend. If you want my opinion it's Sultan x Kirby and if anyone wants me to argue that harder because they could be convinced, by all means, request.

Name three things that make you most sure that Kirby is Godfather.

Kirby repeatedly brought up Godfather risk even when it was irrational to do so. This to me feels like an endgame strategy-- if he is alive in endgame, he can BS a vote on any other player in the game that scans town.
Kirby repeatedly said I didn't make sense when multiple players in the game said I did. I think this was another long strategy to get me lynched or ignored in the endgame.
Kirby could have been lynched by Poppy d1 to make Poppy look a heck of a lot less suspicious than lateraling over to SBell, he did not.

So you pick the target at night phase but it (and spell cards) targets during start of day

So if you target someone at night who dies then your targeting fails.

This happened when I pot of greeded Han that's why I know how it works.

So he did set a ghost belle, he just retargeted it today.

I think he is not good enough at acting for his frustration to not be genuine. The problem is I could see genuine frustration from 3 different angles.

Also I sent pot at Kirby and Chang. Doesn't mean anything with either because I was told that if someone sells their trap at night the pot won't be crossed out and Chang laid down Ghost Belle.

Scum has one counterplay to Ghost Belle regardless

And that is if scum uses Ghost Belle on their target then they can fake being watcher

So if someone's ghost belle flips, don't just assume it's the truth. You need to determine the logic and such behind laying down the trap

Say you own a house or land in a game. Other games can tax you on that land or charge you mortgage payments to get their piece of the pie.

I mean it'll be exploited for profit no doubt but the amount of immersion and interactivity you could throw into these games would be interesting too. That's why I think there is possibly potential for it.

Like here's a more easily understandable example

Say there exists a system of MMO type games and you can buy a car that is usable to you know, basically be a virtual car that lets you get around in the games. Say you can use it in any of the games. Say there are a lot of these games.

Say this car costs a LOT of real money. Like a real car basically. Say it costs like $15000.
You don't want to be subject to the whims of one of the company basically saying "well that car is on our server currently and we're ending support so you no longer have your car."

Because that car costs so much you don't want it to be something that only one company profits from the sale of or that one company can revoke your access to.

There is nothing currently applying these principles, but there could be. This is the whole metaverse thing that's getting hype. NFTs are necessary for that to actually ever gain traction as a concept.

I'm talking about a world where the items themselves have value and you want to protect that value across platforms. It's not really something that exists in the ecosystem today.

Again, think a Ready Player One type environment where you want the thing you purchase or find or what have you to have some sort of guaranteed "real world value"

That's all it is. You can't simultaneously see the value of bitcoin and think NFTs are rubbish.

On that, I agree it's plausible to do anything (that I can imagine them being used for) NFTs can do without NFTs.

But eventually, depending on how ambitious you are, NFTs become the easier means to that end than coordinating a bunch of companies poking around in each other's databases and everyone being okay with that. Security and the plausibility of having all the companies play nice with each other becomes an issue, particularly as more and more actors start sticking their hands in the pot.

Anyway this is all theoretical because we haven't even hit a starting point for that use case-- I'm just saying like, I actually see them as similar to bitcoin (which at the present is similarly worthless) in practical application. The tech is useful-- applying it practically not yet.
