Why woukd Dominion hold out so long only to settle for such a low number? It wasn't even a billion .

I wanted them to go all the way too. Very much, but well over 3/4 of a billion dollars is not a "low number".

My guess? Dominion was holding out for more money and probably some other stipulations. Fox didn't want to give it and then trial day came and Fox realized just how fucking flimsy it's defense was.

FWIW, that defense was pathetic. If it wasn't FOX, I'd say pitiful.

The next 3 posters ITT could come up with a better strategy.

That's why I mentioned diminishing returns. Ironically, at this point no 'reasonable' judge / jury will see Fox's election fraud lies - and all the nigh-irreparable damage they've caused - as a simple case of witty satire.
Yeah, if I was on that jury and they pulled this stunt, I'd be pretty upset and thinking, "Do they think I'm a fool up here? They tried this stunt before."

Even the most "open-minded" juror's gotta see this.

The judge says each day will start at 9:30 eastern for now, but the time may be moved up if there is a good flow going. Each day will end at 4:30 eastern unless there are some brief questions to be asked at that time.

Those are pretty standard hours for courts. Taking care of the administrative stuff up front, which is good if you want an orderly court room.

He's already sanctioned Fox for not following disclosure protocol, so looks like he wants a tightly run ship on this one.

You're on a game show and you've just won $1K. The host gives you the following options:

  1. Take the $1K and end the game.
  2. Play on for a 50% chance at $5K
  3. Play on for a 25% chance at $10K
  4. Play on for a 5% chance at $100K
