I got a 75" TV for Christmas (because I saw it on a Black Friday sale and asked for it).

I have a love/hate relationship with new TVs. On the one hand it looked really cool for two weeks and I can see it from further away, which is nice. On the other hand you get used to them in two weeks and after that it just makes your other TVs look small. :)

I can see how that would be. When I was using the one at my moms house, everything looked smaller. That said, since I keep going home for multiple weeks and using it, having this tv now is pretty good

I did get other stuff. 2 pairs of shoes, a couple sweatsuits, and some new shirts, as well I been wearing at the stuff like crazy. The sweatsuits are nice and warm since weve had some cold days recently

It was a late Christmas gift from my mom. It came yesterday. What was weird was I think she ordered it yesterday, and got a message saying it was coming today. Then, when I was on the phone, she said it told her March 8th, which was a very different day. Then yesterday, she called me while I was sleeping and said, Nevermind. Its coming today (yesterday) And while I was trying to pull up the map she sent to me, I received a knock on the door Anyway, its a 75, which is nice. Never had a tv this big before

Yep. The endgame of AI replacing literally every job so nobody has to work is pretty nifty, but everything between here and there is going to get so much worse, and there's a good chance that those who end up with far too much power as a result of controlling the AI's that have replaced everyone else will actively shut down efforts to create AI's that will replace them and stall the whole process at the worst possible point for most of us.

Tbh, Im not even excited about that. I like work and getting out of the house. While having some time off is ok. I wouldnt like it if I had to be off all the time And just be bored I also dont like having to rely on a set amount of money from somewhere to live. And having to learn new rules about moving and stuff If I need more money these days, I can work extra, or get UTA days and stuff But with a set amount, Im screw if something comes up

That's the other thing. AI waiting doesn't have to be good, it just has to be plentiful enough that it becomes near-impossible to find anything better and audiences lower their standards. Established authors will still be able to reach audiences to a certain extent because people will look for them, but publishers may drop them in favour of filling shelves with cheaper stuff, leaving them to self-publish (which will mostly limit them to digital distribution) and possibly not be able to support themselves.

Which sucks a bunch I hope that the first person who tries this goes out of business, which scares others into not wanting to do this

Yeah, it's hard to really assess it without actual numbers. I believe the official recommendation is a 10-minute break every hour, which is probably too short for switching games to be reasonable, but it could be just about anything with what's said there and how little those suggesting these ideas actually understand video games. If it's like half an hour every two hours, yeah, switching would be worthwhile.

It's certainly possible, but it's still disruptive. As much as it's easy to think about it hypothetically and come up with ways that you could perfectly optimize your gaming time to minimize breaks, in reality, the vast majority of people faced with such a break are just going to take it. Even for those that don't mind playing multiple games at a time, the idea of having to plan that out ahead of a given session is just more forethought than most are willing to put into their leisure time. It'd be much more common to simply use the enforced break as a chance to go to the bathroom, grab a snack, check one's phone, or similar quick tasks that will fill the time.

I think it depends on the length of the break. At 10 minutes, I would say I agree many would take it, using the opportunity to use the bathroom, grab a snack and drink, and check social media (or something in their phone) If the break is like 30 minutes or longer, then I disagree and think most wouldnt mind playing another since they probably wont want to wait that long Which is why I mention the break length at the end of post

At most, it would probably be till the end of class Im not sure youre allowed to take someones property for that long. And worst case scenario, the parent can come get it back if the teacher didnt want to give it back

Eggs in a burger are seemingly pointless how I see it. The whole idea is that it keeps it from falling apart, which is a problem I never have. If your burgers are falling apart on you youre probably not cooking them at a high enough temperature or are fucking with them too much as they cook.

People eat chilis all the time in food and don't jump through hoops about how they would totally hate them if they were by themselves. In that case, they just like chilis. With onion, it doesnt matter if its in a food as long as I cant taste it. Once I taste it, Im just done with that food. And in most cases, I cant taste it. Hence why I can like foods its in, even though I hate onions

So, no. I hate onions. I dont understand why you dont understand that. Its pretty easy to understand. I hate onions and the taste of onions. Just because Ive had in it stuff since like doesnt mean I like it. It just means I cant taste it. And thats fine. Onions are pretty much perfect to cook alongside any meat. You don't need to eat the onion, they blend together when cooked together.

Not exactly. Everyone likes onions, not everyone understands that basically everything you eat is flavored with some type of onion. You can probably go through every single non-base ingredient thing in your house and find that >50% of them use onions. Doubly so when you recognize that "onion" is a type of food and not a singular thing. Things like garlic are overwhelmingly popular across the world. For perspective onions are the #3 most eaten vegetable in the US ( https://www.ers.usda.gov/webdocs/charts/58339/food-availability_fig07_768px.png ) in which the average American will eat an average of >20 pounds of onions per year.

Basically the way to look at it is that not everyone likes every type of onion, but *everyone* likes onions. It all comes down to getting over the fact that uncooked red/white onions aren't the only things that constitute as onions.

Just because thing have onion flavoring doesnt mean people like onions. For example, Im not fond of tomatoes. But if its blended and has spices added (like for sauce), Im fine with it. But the taste of just a straight tomoto (even with something I like added, like cheese) is pretty gross to me. When added with other certain things, the actual taste of onions isnt there. Its changed because of the other stuff So, just because some onion flavoring is used doesnt mean people like onions So, I have disagree with the everyone likes onions Thats like saying everyone like water is they drink certain liquids. Personally, I dont enjoy the taste of water. Sure, I like things like soda, lemonade, koo-laid, etc., but thats obviously a different taste that just water Its something added to water to make a completely different flavor

Yeah i dont get the flu shot. I gotta believe in my immune system until it shows signs of diminishing. Maybe once im 40 with cardiovascular disease creeping in il start shooting up. Many people who decided to trust their body died because their body couldnt Hensley something Had they gotten a shot, their body may have been able to handle it better. Stuff like the flu shot and Covid shot are basically there to help your immune system learn how to best deal with those things so when they do invade your body, youre body knows what to do
