I deleted mine years ago. I kinda miss some aspects of it because I find it very difficult to reach out to people out of the blue and it would probably make that easier, but it just got way too awful like everything once they started figuring out how to maximize revenue.

I kinda wish there was a social media site that was a paid subscription or something so they didn't just sell your data but the public would never go for that

I've always thought of leasing as being a waste of money, but I don't know. People make some good points about how cars depreciate in value anyway, plus I think you possibly get maintenance benefits from leasing?

I didn't like how Tropical Freeze went all in on the style of having a bunch of little *tough* sections strung together but with a lot of checkpoints, in contrast to the older games where it's just a level with one checkpoint without a lot of overly challenging stuff but still not easy to one shot. Returns wasn't really like the old games either though and had some of those short, hard parts, but not as much as TF from my recollection

I feel like music critique in general has always been dripping with elitism. No offense to music nerds, I think it's just inevitable that sometimes you're going to strain to have interesting things to say about ~50 minutes of audio (in contrast to movies/TV/games which not only are way longer but also have a visual/interactive aspect). As long as people aren't like saying Imagine Dragons is one of the greatest artists of our time I don't really care

They've done countless studies on how the lack of shop music affects sales, I'm honestly surprised you haven't heard about any of them

I don't think the change makes sense semantically, but I guess it makes sense to identify people who are advocates or not. Because you know reactionaries will be like "why can't I say homeless anymore, that's stupid, I'm gonna keep saying it to own you!"

Someone used the r-word as an example, but I'm pretty sure that was always considered a slur. It's just terms like "mentally r-ed" that used to be more acceptable/even used in a lot of "official" contexts. Yeah the later season elaborate couch gags are embarrassing. Sign of a show that lost its punch badly to be wasting precious time on that. Not to mention the episodes are probably already shorter because there are more commercials now. So with a really long couch gag you might be left with 17 minutes of actual episode while all the classics were probably 19-20

It's self help repackaged in a different way to appeal to certain demographics. I have no big issue with the good parts of it, but I'm also aware of the odiousness of some of these hustle culture guru types.

Self help was already pretty scummy, but some of them probably genuinely like the idea of helping people. All the "alpha male" types are just straight grifters though, preying on men's insecurity, guilt tripping and beating them down for having vices (like weed in this topic, but porn is another big one), and their methods don't really work, they basically require you to be an asshole. PUAs are a good example of this, literally their trick is just asking out pretty much every woman you see without any shame

The point is it's a scammy hustle culture guy trying to sell insecure men that they're inadequate. These people are gross

I cringe at a lot of memories of things I did/said as an adult too. Do most people remember this stuff or am I weird? Like some of it is pretty minor things that the other person probably doesn't even remember, but I still get mad at myself for it
