It sounds like in this hypothetical, you're doomed either way. So it's best to drop the project and pursue other things. With that said, I think TC really wanted us to be at the exec level because they are ultimately the ones who pull the plug or not. So if I go into that hypothetical, it would require a bit of research to find out not only who are main demographics are and find out specifically what they want changed. If it seems reasonable enough, because there are shows in the past that become less edgier in their jokes out of request from the actors/actress, then little changes here or there shouldn't make or break the show. If it's too serious, it's either best to drop them and get a new actor/actress to fill in the role. If they really are the make it/break it star that is carrying the show it maybe best to drop it because the actor is being a drama queen about it.

Dunkey always was a shit poster even during his LoL days, the only difference back then was he was a lot edgier. I will honestly say take his videos with a grain of salt and normally you can tell if he was being serious by the tone of his voice during his "reviews". With that said, I still find it hilarious that his most ratio'd video was his review of TLOU2. Normally he gets shit when making negative reviews on video games, but TLOU2 was the exception.

I watched a live stream of dunkey playing some JRPG game and seeing him sigh and face palm when he saw an anime trope. He then goes and complains about the dialogue because it was clearly written by people who don't know how to talk to actual people. There was a lot of people in the chat who were obviously pissed, but I think Dunkey is open about his dislike for JRPG.

Surprisingly, I think the biggest hate Dunkey has ever gotten was his TLOU2 review, which was a positive one lol.

I have never seen such self loathing and such a defeatist attitude.

Hell even other forever alones take pride in knowing they have friends, family, and hobbies even if not dating or in a relationship. That they actually know nerd/dork or not that they have friendship, and shared hobbies.

To believe having a girlfriend or relationship is a end all be all and belief that will complete you is the mindset of someone who has not lived.

Id like to know what crazy shit you heard or saw at 8 years old that made this a set in stone life choice that matters more then anything else.

I'll definitely share that I was like this back in my highschool years. I'm a nerdy looking asian male and 5'6, so basically talk about the bottom of the barrel in terms of the dating scene. There was a lot of things that made me felt inadequate about myself and my life that I thought having things that I couldn't attain would help my life better. I always complained that why did I have to go the extra mile in improving myself while girls just have to exist and they could get things easily. It wasn't until in the middle of my college years did I start getting my shit together, stopped playing the oppression olympics, and started concentrating about increasing my self worth did I start seeing major improvements in my life as a whole.

shrug. i usually like my trailers to give me some general idea of the plot. "a group of heroes must save the galaxy", etc. all that trailer told me is that i should wait until the season is over to see if there's an actual story that's worth hearing before i invest any time in it.

like, if you went off just what the trailer shows us, could you tell me what the show is about?

Trailers are a tricky thing because it's also very possible to ruin a movie if you give too much information like the second trailer for Nope and especially Terminator Genysis.

I started working at a grocery store at the age of 14 just doing stuff like restocking. I had to do those stereotypical "stacking the cans" only for someone to do something stupid and knock it all down so I have to clean it and stack it all over again. I'm glad most grocery stores stop doing this crap. I swear some people knocking them down were probably doing it on purpose.

And honestly, that's fine. Casual finance the games while competitive players give and extend the life of the games. As long as there is something hard for the competitive players to do while casual players can feel like they're making some progress by dedicating some time to the game, I think you'll have a recipe for a great fighting game.

I feel like TLJ suffered from being the experimental middlechild sandwiched between two safe, by-the-books movies.

It clearly had something it was trying to do, but Disney got cold feet and literally had it written out of existence so they could go "safe" again on the next movie, so we'll never see what it was trying to lead up to.

Yeah, I agree with this sentiment. TLJ was actually trying to do something different, hence why I was very interested what plans Rian Johnson had for the 9th movie. What kind of shit was he going to subvert in that movie lol.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, like several of Tarantino's films, falls loosely into the genre that I would call "alternate history." in this case, the alternate history is that, instead of running into Sharon Tate and killing her, the Manson Family members ran into a guy who could punch out Bruce Lee.

the clip that you saw is near the end of the film. the woman in the clip is a fictionalized version of the Manson Family member who admitted to personally killing Sharon Tate. at this point, she has already encountered Cliff, the guy who can punch out Bruce Lee. she screams in pain, and Rick (the guy who was in the pool; Cliff is his friend and stunt double) torches her with the flamethrower. early on in the movie, a clip from an earlier movie that Rick starred in -- I believe it was called The 14 Fists of McClusky -- in which Rick's character uses that flamethrower, was shown. after the clip, Rick says that he still has the flamethrower, so this was also a big Chekhov's Gun payoff

What was sad about the Bruce Lee scene was originally Brad Pitt's character was supposed to fuck him up in the original script, but Brad Pitt and the fight choreographer were against it so the middle ground was to have it end on a "draw". It's kind of weird to see Quinten make Steve McQueen, Sharon Tate, and Jay Sebring reverential and sympathetic while making Bruce Lee an ass when many people who knew Bruce Lee knows not only does he never start a fight but he actually respects Muhammad Ali.

I don't know how many times I've posted this, but he had drafts for all three movies and actively tried to coordinate with Johnson to thread plot points through the middle movie and Johnson opted to throw it all out.

Ah, sorry about that. So my next question why didn't JJ Abrams direct the 8th movie?

Doom_Art posted...
It doesn't lol

TLJ is a well-crafted movie with some of the best cinematography shots in the series that actually tried to do something different. It's a bad SW movie because any mystery or idea that TFA laid out basically got thrown into the garbage bin in this movie. There was nothing for the 9th movie to build off from, hence why I would've been very interested to see what Rian Johnson would've done or what he was actually trying to build up to.

TFA was pretty good in that there was a lot to build off of. The issue was that JJ Abrams had no plans for how the sequels were supposed to turn out thanks to his "mystery box" method. It was meant for the other director to fill in those mysteries and then you have Rian Johnson, who's well known to "subvert expectations" go, "Yeah, none of that shit matters." so the third film basically had nothing to build off from hence "somehow Palpatine returned" meme.
