"September 6, 2017: Gregory Lee Leingang, a 42-year-old man from North Dakota, attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump in Mandan, North Dakota. Trump was visiting North Dakota to rally public support. Leingang stole a forklift from an oil refinery and drove toward the presidential motorcade. After the forklift became jammed within the refinery, he fled on foot and was arrested by the pursuing police. While interviewed in detention, he admitted his intent to murder the president by flipping the presidential limousine with the stolen forklift, to the surprise of authorities, who suspected he was merely stealing the vehicle for personal use. The man pled guilty to the attempted attack, stealing the forklift, related charges and several other unrelated crimes on the same day. Consequently, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison. His defense attorney noted a "serious psychiatric crisis".[106][107] Leingang's choice of a forklift as a weapon was unique among presidential assassination attempts."

uhhhh yeah guys my vote is for other, how the fuck do I not remember this story, I can't believe there's an alternate universe where donald trump got assassinated with a forklift

It's the fact that you mentioned your feelings about the other chapters in the game. You didn't spoil anything directly per se, but it's best to just not mention anything about future stuff to ensure Chris has a relatively blind, unbiased experience.

I know I've certainly had my fill of people saying "Just wait until you get to that part" and then anticipating it so much that, when the moment finally happens, it doesn't live up to the hype. Ben can attest to accidentally ruining a surprise for one of our mutual friends just by saying a small phrase that didn't inherently spoil anything but gave a faint idea of what to expect.
I think that post was worse than this. If you think about DRV3 it's not hard to understand why.

Top 50 metro rankings:

6 . Washington, DC (comparable to Philly)
20. Baltimore (comparable to Denver)
22. Charlotte (comparable to Orlando)
30. Cincinnati (comparable to Las Vegas)
35. Nashville (comparable to Cleveland)
37. Virginia Beach (comparable to San Jose)
41. Raleigh (comparable to Milwaukee)
44. Richmond
45. Louisville (comparable to Salt Lake City)

Lots of big places in green and many of them are younger.

side note: weird that Raleigh and Durham are considered two different metros, or combined they would be around 30.

edit: I left out Charlotte at first! whoops
Yeah, it makes sense when you add it all up, since NC, VA, MD, and TN are all reasonably big states and it has a few chunks of other places too - my point of surprise still makes sense I think though since every other area's second-largest metro is bigger than Baltimore (except for the purple area which I originally thought included Philadelphia, so now I'm a little bit surprised by the purple area too, but I think both the green and purple areas have a lot of suburban sprawl compared to the other regions)

Actually, if you zoom in Philly itself is in the brown area. That whole metro is annoyingly right on a boundary line with no way to avoid splitting it weird.

Unrelated, I also made this other map people might find interesting. The areas shaded in green take up roughly 3.1% of America's land area but contain roughly 50.1% of the US population.

Yeah I guess that's true, I'm underestimating the size of DC/Baltimore, it's big

As far as the other areas go;

Red - Atlanta and Miami - DC is bigger than both of these but Red has ALL of Florida and Georgia which seems enormous
Orange - Los Angeles
Yellow - Chicago
Blue - Nothing really but it's big and has a lot of decently-sized metros in it (Phoenix, San Diego, Denver)
Purple - Philadelphia (which DC is slightly bigger than, my bad)
Brown - NYC
Gray - Houston and Dallas

The green area is the one I'm surprised is equivalent to the others, it doesn't have any of the really fuck-off big metro areas in it, but I guess after you add up VA, most of NC, most of MD, and then also significant chunks of Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana it adds up

I mean while I am sure thats the real reason, it really, really shows that even the most left-wing democrats are not left-wing, radical, or in any way far-left. Taking private assets into public control where appropriate is basically a requirement for socialism, and its the assets of the ultra-rich being used for a public good.
I find this to be a pretty fascinating point, actually - if there's anything you think an ultra-left socialist would be extremely in favor of, at least by the definitions that people mean when they talk about such a thing, you would think that seizing rich peoples' yachts would be it.

More accurately, their view on the left is formed entirely on what the right tells them about the left, which is how you get the groomer discourse. Nobody's actually listening to the left here, and when engaged with, they are primed for offense. That's what labelling everything as woke sjw shit is meant to do and you can see this from their gut reactions to media featuring minority members or any time a woman asserts dominance over a man.

Using my brother as an example he can't even handle sarcastic references to feminism in comedy without taking it as a serious threat. In literally Taskmaster NZ there was a prize task for "best green thing", and one woman brought a statue of the Green M&M lady and touted it up as a feminist icon and my brother took it seriously, scoffing how there's always gotta be a feminist on the shows. Then a guy brought out a female member of the Green Party and an opponent knocked it down as dehumanizing to bring a women as a "best thing" and my brother went livid at how there's nothing dehumanizing about calling people a thing. Like holy crap dude it's a comedy show, you've seen plenty episodes where contestants try to make up significance or drag their rivals down on any technicality they can grasp, why are you taking this to be serious feminist debate??? Literally a green m&m statue holy shit man.

Shang-Chi as well of course he had to scoff at Shang-Chi mentioning an experience dealing with racist bullies, reactively spouting "oh yeah sure THAT really happened"....... it's a fictional movie with magic dragons god dammit. Watching any media with my brother is an absolute minefield since you never know when when he's gonna get triggered by any hints of social progressivism.
isn't it just amazing to really unpackage how thin-skinned and emotionally reactionary people who claim to be otherwise are

meanwhile, the sheer amount of shit that any trans person have to politely hold our tongues about in a week is more than anything they've had to put up with in a lifetime

I mean the fact that the left doesn't have an actual voice in power is a big part of the conversation. Obama & Biden aren't left but they get our support which kinda demolishes the whole woke extremist idea. The left argues with itself and compromises towards the center, all while the right solely panders to its base, backed by actual state legislation as red meat and declaring to flatly obstruct anything from the opposition for nearly two decades.
Yeah the more I think about it the more annoyed I am that we get this whole "people running to the left" narrative when I've done nothing but compromise towards the center all my life with meager returns (the democratic party HAS moved left, especially socially, but at a glacial pace) while meanwhile the republican party actually HAS run right to chase all the people who ran that way

Today, Mitt Romney is one of only three Republican senators willing to vote in favor of confirming an overqualified judge to the Supreme Court, and he's considered a "RINO".

But yeah, conservatives have stayed exactly the same.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama was the face of the Democratic party ten years ago, and now his vice president is

(yes, I know that's not the "left", but I'm making a different comparison here)
