Metal Gear Solid was almost 30 years ago, and David Hayter hasn't voice Snake in ten years. The last thing he voiced was a Ford commercial with Paul Eiding as the Colonel - Smash Bros Ultimate reused his voice clips from Brawl.

If he's still up for it if a new thing comes along, that would be great. He makes a lot of Cameo content, he and Cam Clarke voice meme edits and stuff all the time. But the guy's 53 years old, and one day he's either going to retire or his desire to voice Snake is going to falter. People get bored of stuff.

If he's still down, I'd love a new Metal Gear with David Hayter voicing Snake. If not, it's not going to ruin my day. Things end, and that doesn't take away from anything we already got.

I want to ask you a related question: if you were to guess, how prevalent would child marriage be in America? Any marriage involving a minor. Better yet, in which states are child marriage legal?

Keeping mind that this isn't just sexual abuse and rape. It's state-sanctioned abuse and rape. Grown adults - predominantly men - are marrying minors - predominantly girls - and those minors aren't legally allowed to divorce their spouses. Domestic abuse shelters don't take them in either.

Approximately 16,666 marriages a year between 2000 and 2018 involved at least one minor. Let's be generous and assume that a quarter of those - a figure I'm pulling entirely out of my ass, for the sake of fairness - were between consenting minors of a similar age range. that still leaves 12,500 child marriages where a minor was married to a legal adult, every year for eighteen years.

You might ask how prevalent incestuous child rape is in America for there to be billboards in Florida talking about it. A form of child sexual abuse is already legal in 44 US states, where a series of grown adults have to make the decision to legally bind a minor to a grown adult as their spouse. Over ten thousand children a year are married in America - not raped in their home by a drunk man, legally married to an adult they cannot leave, where they will almost inevitably be raped during the course of their marriage. The children being married are predominantly girls, and their spouses are predominantly adult men.

If ten thousand grown men will willingly sign a legal document that legally binds them to a minor they will almost certainly rape as a part of that marriage, imagine how many more will rape and molest under the radar. You ask how bad the problem of incestuous child rape could be - take a step back and consider the legal marriage of children in your country, and then consider how many grown adults would never go that far but who would still rape or molest a child.

That figure is unknowable, but it can be reasonably intuited that it's more than 16,666 people a year.

How much of that is incest? We don't know. But for how much or how little it's happening, it's almost certainly a better approach to raise awareness of it as a means of trying to stop it from happening.

The thing that gets me is how Batman can't be fun or kind any more. Same shit they did to Superman in the 2010's.

Superman's a fascist and Batman's the only person who can stop him. That's the only cultural weight those two characters hold at the moment. It has to be this David vs. Goliath moment all the time, which robs Superman of his compassion and Batman of his humanity. Superman can't be a comforting force for good, and Batman can't be a guy who handles street-level crime because of the trauma of losing his parents. Superman has to be a hated tyrant and Batman has to think in five dimensions and plan every move 50 moves ahead so he always wins everything.

And the way Batman fanboys suck his dick is so annoying. I like Batman, but the way he HAS to be the Greatest Hero Ever and how people play up his "regular man in a bat costume" thing to further sell how great he is to keep up with his superpowered colleagues is beyond a joke - it's interesting and cool, but not when the 80th milquetost, mouth-breathing, WatchMojo-watching moron puffs their chest out and states it as the reason why Batman is the greatest hero ever. Like I'm glad that's your favorite part of the character, but that's not all he is and I don't need to listen to you say the most dumb-fuck obvious spiel about how that would make him beat Superman in a fight. Shut the actual fuck up.

And there's this pathological need to make it a conflict between Superman and Batman, like they can't actually fight crime or take down actual threats. "It's the greatest What If story of all, it's dramatic because they're meant to be friends" no, it was a dramatic idea before it became EVERYTHING the characters are. The Snyderverse introduced Batman not as a resourceful crime-fighter, but as a thuggish brute who hates Superman because he committed fifty 9/11s in a row. His entire introductory movie is about him fighting Superman. The only other mention of him fighting crime has him branding people with a batarang so his marks get murdered in prison. What the actual fuck happened to Batman? Why did Alex Kurtsmann get his fingers into that shit?

The type of fanboy who simps for Batman is second only to the type of fanboy who simps for the Joker. I like both characters, but there's a stigma around either of those characters being your favorite comic book character because of the overall atmosphere of brainrot present in "nerd" spaces and the implicit need to speak in circles at all times until you don't even register the meaningless horseshit that you're spewing. After being around this shit for as long as I have, I genuinely think that getting to the point of stanning a superhero makes you a stupider person, because at a certain point you fall into a hole and you don't get back out because you're too used to going in circles.

Batman is fine. The people who like Batman, at a base level, are fine. The people who've decided to make their lives about Batman, and have decided that the character is a small sampling of character tropes that they personally like, and whose greatest rhetorical question is about whether he can beat Superman or not - those people make me want to eat my own teeth.

I LOVE the Pink Phantom.

I don't hate any singles off of Song Machine. Not even Friday the 13th. Octavian is a woman-beating piece of shit, but Friday the 13th was always an awesome piece of mood music before that came out.

I understand why it's that much harder of a sell now that he's an abusive shithead, but back when it was controversial for not fitting with the rest of the Song Machine singles? I don't think enough people let it grow on them. Justified now given the circumstances, but back then people gave it shit for being light on the Damon vocals.

All of that to say that I adored The Pink Phantom. It was one of the best singles of that project, period.

It's a little janky, but that shit was in development for like three years and the album cycle had been over for like 7 years by that point. The fact that it exists at all, let alone being as good as it is, is a miracle and a blessing.

It'll probably be the most amazing fan project I've ever seen.

On its own, it's the best Gorillaz album. Demon Days is fine, but this is where the "story" of Gorillaz and the music were arguably the most in sync, the star power was unmatched (Snoop Dogg and Bruce Willis were both on this album) and the theme of the record was probably the least muddied.

The aesthetic of the Plastic Beach sculpture is fantastic. The integration of Robot Noodle as a 3D model contrasting with her 2D surroundings is great. On Melancholy Hill is probably the best Gorillaz song to date.

And what makes Plastic Beach compelling is that its final music video - either capping the story off or leaving the story for an additional part - was cancelled by EMI, leaving an unrelated tie-in single as the final single and the storyboard being the only Gorillaz media relating to this phase to reach the public consciousness.

Until a fan single-handedly animated the final music video based on the storyboards, leading to a commendation from the official Gorillaz YouTube channel.

Song Machine is a close second to Plastic Beach for the best Gorillaz album. Despite underperforming initially and having axed content due to cost, Plastic Beach has persevered as an almost-perfect album and it's just as modern and relevant as it's always been. It's a perfect album.

It was my least favourite Weakerthans song for a long time, but after watching it performed as a toast, it's grown on me a lot.

Gump Worsley was a hockey goalie from before masks were required in the game. The last two lines of the song are "he swore he was never afraid of the puck / we believe him / if anyone should ask, the inscription should read: / my face was my mask". Being a toast, the song is a truncated history of the man.

Chiropractic treatment is actually practiced in Australia in combination with sports massage and physiotherapy. Sometimes getting shit cracked in your body feels amazing and can ease pain.

That being said, chiropractic treatment is regulated in Australia and held to a set of standards. This info is decades old at this point, but seeing the chiropractors featured on Penn and Teller: Bullshit was horrific. Practicing on children, babies even, when their bones aren't even fully formed yet? That's fucked up.

I think chiropractic treatment is effective pain relief in the short term, but combined with other treatment like massage and physio - relaxing and building up the muscles around your joints, helping your body maintain a better support for your sore joints - it can be somewhat effective. It's not a cure-all, nor is it really a cure. It's pain relief that can have a positive effect in conjunction with other therapies.

And another factor in the potential relief comes from safety standards and regulation, which America really seems to lack in favor of - in your own words - these "woo woo bullshit" practitioners who have more in common with an essential oils salesman than a massage therapist. You need a certificate to practice chiropractic treatment in Australia. You need to take a whole course in conjunction with either massage therapy and physiotherapy, if I remember correctly. It's not paying $200 for a 3 module online course.

That being said, I live in a country where chiropractic treatment is something of an institution that has ins in the medical field. I've read the Wikipedia page and learned its origins and longstanding reputation as a con, so I could be wrong. But that's my perspective.
