Well the only response he gave tonight was that, and I quote "I don't give a rat's ass what anyone in this family thinks."

And I know it's not the drug's doing. It's him. It's his attitude or mentality. And I feel like punching him in the face myself. He can't go to our brother's graduation and party because he has to get high. God that just doesn't compute in my mind. It just makes me angry.

Really I just feel like blowing off some steam and it's a wall o' text.
My brother is a fuck. I have no other way to describe him. 26 years. He's got a massive addicted personality, self centered, spoiled, persecution complex. He's wanted there to be something medically wrong with him since he was a teen. Depression. Hated everyone because his life's perceived failings are it's everyone else's fault. You name it. Got punched in the face and had an ipod stoled like a decade ago when he walked off into the lonely streets after he couldn't stand being at a family party with us. Deserved it. God did he deserve it.
Ever since then he's claimed now he has PTSD, he's depressed and so on. Talked my mother into taking him to a shrink. "It's ok. It is in fact everyone else's fault you think your life is shit." That's what he got out of that. Well in the last couple of years he somehow got some quack to prescribe him medical *you know what* (I don't know if we can type it out on this site).
Now he has to be high 24/7. Comes home from working weekends only at a pet shop to get high. Oh but he draws cartoon porn and sells it online too. Wake up, get high. Gets high before bed.
Now a lot of this is my mother's fault as she let's this 26yo ass do this in her house and doesn't kick him out. Plus he's got his "medicine man" who looks like a heroine fiend in a broken down car that comes to my mother's house to bring it to him.

It's gotten to the point now where he insisted he can't go the 6 hours of out brother's hs graduation and the after family party at my house without smoking again. So my mother said well take it to your brother's house and go smoke in the back yard. Well fuck no he isn't. I just snapped. I lost it and yelled at both of them.
I'm not saying it's addictive. I don't have any problem when it's treated like a drink and people do it every once in a while.
But damn. I don't want him smoking it in front of extended family at my house. I don't people smelling it.
You know, fuck. He can't go 6 hours without it. The little bastard. And then there's a family trip being planned and I told him too. I'll be damned if you're bringing that along to smoke every time we make a pit stop in another state. Just ugh!
Family. Or your fucking drugs you piece of shit!

The knowledge that someone I love passed painlessly in their sleep trumps any selfishness on my part about any guilt I may feel not getting to say goodbye.

I've had loved ones suffer from a long disease. I've seen first hand what that's like. Twice. It gets to a point where you start praying they die just so they stop hurting. A person would have to be a real selfish pos to worry about their own feelings over the person actually suffering.

I love that pic. I'm a catholic so maybe that has something to do with it. The women wearing all black like it's a funeral with a veil is an old school catholic thing. It's suppose to be solemnity. So yes it's like a funeral in that way. Very reserved to show reverence towards the person. In the way old days women dressed that way to regular mass every week. You only see veils on a few of the really old ladies these days and almost never black anymore.

I'm a member and have been since 2005 when our local one opened. They're okay but I don't love them anymore. They gutted the store to have the whole back be toys and about a quarter of the main floor space is this wannabe looking minimalist Nook sales area.

So when I use to be able to go in there and find a book, now they only carry the best sellers, a bargain bin type rack with meh stuff and then popular old titles. The only area that didn't get smaller is their sad little single woman mystery/romance area. I swear there's hundreds of mystery solving cat novels all with terrible pun names relating to cats, baking and sewing. Then their online store is cheaper than in store even without a membership and it's free shipping and two day delivery. It's insane. It's like they're actively trying to make their stores irrelevant. I go in there to flip through a new book but then I just buy it through their online site at home. It's sad tbqh. I use to on average spend 3 hours in there per trip on an evening. Browsing through stuff with a drink from their Starbucks. I use to always end up buying at least a couple of new books.

Palm Springs. I live 20 minutes away from there and my whole life I would see them giving away trips to there in game shows. Magazines for it. People saying it's this big destination.

Because why? Seriously. Why?
Palm Springs itself is small. It's main area is two one way streets with cruddy mom and pop shops selling crap that looks second hand or highly overpriced tee shirts and glasses. I mean in comparison to like Old Town San Diego or Santa Barbara. This is garbage. Then here and there will be an extremely pricy restaurant mixed up between a cheap restaurant. There's the tramway at the entrance. Here's a big hotel, over against the mountain is a golf course and a few old fart mid century retirement communities. Shovel in 120 heat in the summer with 100 nights. The end.
That's it. That. Is. It.

And as a side note my family and I still take umbrage to Obama designating the shitty area that I can see right out my living room window as a National Monument. Sand to Snow National Monument. If Palm Springs is overrated then this thing is just an insult. It's one step away from being a national park. Is it worthy of that? Hell no. There's nothing unique about it, it's not pretty, there's no endangered anything, it's not under threat of any development, there were no indigenous peoples or ruins. Holy shit! I mean this is on the same tier as the Statue of Liberty and Devil's Tower just to name a few. Bah!
Oh it has "diverse montane habitats". So do the hundreds of square miles all around it no one wants anything to do with and isn't under any threat. There is nothing special about this thing.

Before this began I thought for sure he would beat Aku and stay in the future because going back into the past, while erasing Aku and all the suffering he caused would erase all the good people and friends Jack made over the years too. I though he would have that epiphany and decide to stay put to create a new world.

Yeah, would a happy ending have been cliche and boring? Maybe. But imho it would have been better than what we got.

I think all of it aside from the thin skin is that he's not a part of that world. He's a billionaire that lived a life so completely different from any of ours we can't even imagine it. But the one way in which he's identical to all of us is that he's not a part of the political system.
So all of the rules, all of the eccentricities, the code or what have you is completely unknown to him.

Take you or me, any of us. Something's going on with this new underling of yours or some employee that answers to you. We would probably ask or tell them to "Ah ignore it. So here's what we do..... Well then tell them to fuck off. What's the damn problem?" Etc. Give them marching orders. He's never answered to anyone his entire life. So then when suddenly everyone freaks out and it's like "Oh I wasn't suppose to have said that or talked to that person? Why? Who cares if I did? Tell them all to go fuck themselves if they don't like it." Then you have him getting into it with the media whom he hates. You have spin doctors that are a part of the system and know what to do try to do damage control but then he comes back out with something else.

So I get it. I can't say I would be any different. I think I would have come straight out and told the media to go fuck themselves and stop holding the daily press briefings within the first month.

My social views are rather conservative. My only social media outlet is this site if can even be called that. I'm not interested in some office job or the college degree that's required for it. I'm '82. I'm tail end of Gen X.

I have zero in common with millennials. Every time there's some article written about the cultural touchstones that were a part of millennial's lives, their childhood, the state of the world they grew up in, etc. None of that holds true for me or anyone else born in that same period.

No one had the internet growing up. It didn't exist. A very few had it at home by senior year (99-00).
Papers were still turned in hand written because most people also didn't have pcs yet either.
No cell phones.
The first porn you ever saw was still print and movie on crappy VHS that had been duplicated 50 times.
9-11 and the war that followed were not part of our childhood or teenage years. We were all adults by then.
I remember being made to watch the Berlin Wall coming down on live tv.
I remember Hands Across America in 1986. I remember standing in the middle of the street downtown with my mother and aunt in that huge ass line. I vividly remember it.

I am not a damn millennial.

So whatever area is not those.

I still believe that Skyrim was the gargantuanly popular game that it was, was because of the setting. The look of it. You didn't have to pick that race of course but, you're a badass viking dude that slays dragons in this awesome looking wintery world. Idk. The way it was advertised was almost Halo-ish. You play a badass in this this badass world doing badass things. That was basically the marketing and it paid off.

For whatever Trump is or isn't. For whatever he did or doesn't do. Or says or tweets.
If every single liberal psycho on tv, every screaming millennial college student protesting, every wailing pink hat wearing feminist, every "respectable journalist" on the verge of tears represents the other side. I caught part of Anderson Cooper yesterday right after the Comey news broke. I have actually never seen him so bent out of shape before. It's hilarious these shit stains honestly consider what they do to be the same as what actual journalists did such as Murrow and Cronkite.

Can they just pull up an armored truck full of cash to Stewart's farm to get him back. Noah is such a no-talent stain it's still unbelievable to me they handed the show over to him. He is just terrible.

How many does it take to mod a mod by marking him for moderation. Blatant flaming and way more offensive than what I've been modded for

That's honestly a great question. I'm sure most on this thread have already marked his obvious flaming as such. But that it's still there just proves the point of it being okay for them to blatantly disregard the TOU and posts of those with opinions they agree with.
But they can "interpret" the TOU however they want to mod other people.

Our middle school, which is not some crime filled inner city mess mind you. Just your average SoCal middle school. We have 10 security guards and one always escorts the kids to and from gym class. Because the gym is about one classroom length behind the quad area which is a "no go" area for students. And they have to be kept an eye on and made to walk in line to boot to go to and from. They make them line up at the edge of the classrooms and the security guard walks them the remaining 100 feet to the building.
The security stands around the perimeter of the lunch tables outside to make sure no students go anywhere.
Seriously. The kids can't even go sit somewhere or walk around somewhere at recess or lunch anymore. They have to stay around the lunch area and are under cameras on top of the security.
It is genuinely like a prison.

None of this insane shit was around when I was in school. I really don't know what the hell happened in the past twenty years that this is where we are.
