Just finished route B.

This game is blowing away my expectations. I'm beginning to ask myself why I didn't pick this up on release back in March.

Route C is the real start of the game.

After everything that has happened so far, I have no idea what to expect but I am excited to see what happens. I'm probably going to wake up around 6 am to start playing again and skip my morning run.

Ever play Spec Ops The Line? You know that scene with the white phosphorous where the game does a 180 in mood? Route C is that 180.

That scene completely changed the game for me in s good way. I can't handle any more feels. I've done all of the side quests I can so far and some of them were already fucking me up.

Oh yes, Route C is an entire mood shift, those sidequests were just a taste. Just prepare yourself.

Honestly, I encourage any Metroid fan to buy the game anyway, but if they don't want to use the amiibo, they don't have to. I want more games from the franchise so I encourage sales, but I understand why people hate the way they're doing amiibo.

I've seen so many posts about these goddamn levels. Like, are they actually harder in this remake or are people just playing them for the first time ever or in a long time? Because yeah I do remember the bridge levels being hard but I was still able to complete them without losing an insane amount of lives.

It's partly that they're hard, and also that hitboxes are changed so it's harder to make precise jumps across thin platforms.

I've heard of the original Nier but it never took my interest. Automata's combat looked flashy and it was made by Platinum so I had to give it a go. Thanks to Yoko Taro's influence I may have to pick up the other titles (including Drakengard if possible).

Well, we're talking about 2D Metroid. For all intents and purposes Other M is a 3D Metroid.

"2.5D" as advertised, but it's really a sidescroller with forced first person parts. Unless you are going by the graphics and not the gameplay.

2D by all accounts only has two dimensions. Other M lets you move in more than 2 dimensions at all times regardless of camera angles. But whatevs, I'm not gonna argue about what genre Other M is in.

Closest thing we can get is the BvS DLC skin pack for Arkham Knight.

But yeah, I was thinking back on that there's hardly movie tie-in games anymore, but I think these days it's just not feasible to do them at all. Gaming budgets are too high now and with such a strict schedule to make sure of a near simultaneous release of the movie it'll just be a bad idea. Similar thing with Spider-Man, too. We don't have a Homecoming tie-in game but we'll be getting that PS4 Spidey game...next year.

You're looking for 9S right? I believe you're nearing the first ending. I think there's a couple of new areas/levels left?

Edit: After that ending if you boot up the game you play as 9S in his own story segments. Just kinda think of the game's story as segmented. Each time you "clear" it, a new chunk opens up when you boot the save file again.

Edit: Nevermind, looked it up. And the whole thing is stupid. It's just fan art, and apparently a lot of the aggressors don't have any idea that it's a regular thing that happens to fictional characters. Personal opinion though, they're hotter as dads instead of moms.

What's so bad about the first Metroid? Poor controls? Poorly designed?

Definitely a product of its time. Every 2D Metroid past it kept improving the gameplay that by the time Super came out, the 1st game became completely outclassed. It just has stiff controls, only able to aim in three directions, can't crouch, level design with dozens of similar-looking rooms making it very easy to get lost in, and there's quite a few borderline unfair spots in terms of level design and enemy placement.

Zero Mission is just so much better. It's a remake of the first game with even more refinement of Fusion's controls. I just wish it was a little harder because it's incredibly easy.

Now we have a Nintendo that locks on-disc content until you spend $25 on plastic toys. A Nintendo that wants you to pay for hard mode. A Nintendo that still can't do online parties or proper voice chat, but now they want you to pay for it.

But no. IT'S OKAY WHEN NINTENDO DOES IT!

I'll be honest, I used to be okay with amiibo but I think the type of content they're locking is getting out of hand. That's why I recommend the NFC Powersaves method if you really want said content. Nintendo's still getting money from collector sales anyway. (And why I still recommend getting certain amiibo if you want the figures.)

The paid online thing...at least it's still free for Switch right now. I wish they would improve their online structure (and not do stupid convoluted shit like what they're doing with headsets), but it's also much cheaper than the competition. I'd have had a major problem with it if they were charging as much as Sony or Microsoft.

I mean, I don't mean to be a huge jerk about it or anything, but I really don't want to go collecting a bunch of plastic toys just to be able to play my games to the fullest. A gun or a control with a rubble feature is understandable. A peripheral which is a toy that sits on top of your console is not.

It's essentially Nintendo taking advantage of the "toys to life" concept that made Skylanders and other similar products extremely successful, only they're putting it in all their games.

But yeah, if you don't want to buy plastic toys to unlock everything in games, you don't have to. See my post above. >_>

Yeah. 7's first-person experience was good for me but I don't see the next few numbered titles taking that approach. From what I remember though, Capcom said that they will take another approach at the next numbered title while still trying to remain true to the series' roots...hopefully it'll be good.

I'm still waiting for that future RE7 DLC that they said would be out at Spring and late this year...still no sign of either.

I'd say a Hard mode (one where you're wearing the Fusion Suit) is missing a lot. Also Art Galleries from the other amiibo. These are all things that would've just been normal unlockables in other Metroid games.

Whatever, I planned on getting the new amiibos, but with how it seems like Nintendo's starting to lock away legitimate content I'm gonna invest in that NFC Powersave thing.

Janky movement, weird-as-fuck themes, but interesting art style...that's basically every single Suda51 game. Oh, and crude humor too.
I still love them though. You just have to expect that the gameplay in his games typically don't feel great, but if you get used to the jank they're pretty fun rides. I've played most of them so I'm pretty familiar with his stuff.
