Ramsay Bolton was also an incredible heel, although he wasn't nearly as hatable as Joffrey because Joffrey also established himself as a sniveling crybaby so he really had no redeeming features. He also just never got it, which made him all the more unlikable; no matter how many times people pointed out how Aerys made the people turn against him, Joffrey would shout, "They have to! I am the king!"

Terrible wrestler, though. As much as I liked his ability to cut a promo and his heel stables, the guy couldn't work a match for crap and he had one of the worst finishers (I think I only rank Big Show's "Knockout Punch" as a lazier finish although, in terms of just outright bad finishing moves, I've always hated the hokiness of Rey Mysterio's 619 despite admiring the athleticism involved)

The US meddles in much more blatant, direct methods in other elections and nobody ever makes a scandal from it. For instance, every US talkshow that brought up the Canadian election in 2015 was blatantly against Harper. The same happened in France this year with Marine Le Pen. This is much more blatant and effective as a meddling strategy than what happened in the US in 2016.

While that's exerting influence, it's not really "meddling." It's also not as egregious as Hillary Clinton accusing Russia of rigging its elections.
