as for Melee's numbers, I've never been able to tell if it's a true Melee bump of if it's just a coincidence. SF always runs at like 12, 1am EST and people are going to bed. ESPN is showing the finals too which cuts Twitch numbers down. Melee is certainly popular and I wouldn't be surprised if it is indeed the biggest Evo game, but I'm not sure. if it was able to pull big numbers at 1am this year I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. I had to go to bed before winners finals.

I really think more should be said about how they've completely remade their culture. are they better? talent-wise probably not but they needed that overhaul and things feel optimistic despite not really having any stars or assets.
