I've seen small snippets of EVO within the past few years because my friend enjoys it. It always seems to deliver something awesome, even for people (like myself) who don't care at all for fighting games.

So I live 15 minutes away and finally decided to check out EVO in person. I'm the dude in the dark cap and red shirt in the main stage audience if anyone can see.

Guess so. I mean cost of entertainment has spiked the last few years, but I remember EVO being free for a long time before passes became like 10 bucks. But either way, glad the community is thriving!

Oh yeah, I was only at the event for 90 minutes today but I did see two well known players: Ken (Melee) and Floe.
