The ugly truth that a lot of people don't want to admit is that healthcare is fucking expensive because it's fucking GOOD. Technology has advanced so rapidly that the best treatments and procedures cost a ton of money because they are the product of incredible investments by these companies and hospitals.

There's not really a solution that will dramatically lower costs, unless the demand for good care goes down.

2000/2001 was probably the turning point for everyone my age to come into their own musically. Everyone was pubescent, angsty, and angry, so there was nothing bigger than Eminem and Linkin Park.

I have no idea what brooding 13 year olds turn to nowadays (and I probably shouldn't).

Ended up with five minutes of Cloud and Kadaj duking it out while Maynard James Keenan ranted about Prison Sex

That's not a Linkin Park song but hey I figured it was story hour

Kasich is gonna look like gold by the end of Donald's run as President for never supporting him and speaking up against him. That said, he was my favorite Republican before and yet from my perspective Republicans just do not support him enough. He was technically the last person out of the primaries, but was he ever getting more than 10% or 15%? He only won his state too.

Totally rooting for him -- he was the GOP's best chance to get my vote and he probably could have gotten it against Hillary -- but I've yet to see with confidence that the party wants him as their leader.

Trump unfortunately will never be unpopular enough with registered Republicans for a serious primary challenge, and the GOP will look like utter garbage if the Dem president in 2020 can restore some dignity to the office.

I think Kasich's window was 2016, but no one wanted to listen to ol SephyG!

Seph: you can't adequately treat chronic diseases (like, say, cancer) by relying on the emergency room. It is simply a fact that people who are uninsured sometimes die from things that would have been treated had they had coverage.

*Had they chosen to pay for their treatments instead of dismissing them as prohibitively expensive.

That happens to be the way reality works. You can "save millions of lives" by forcing gym owners to give all-comers a line of credit as well, just as we do with healthcare. But if someone chooses not to pay for or put themselves in debt over a gym membership, they are choosing their wallet over their health. That's literally what being in a free society is about.

A few may die by choosing to not pay for treatment. That's not the same as "the GOP is taking away their ability to get healthcare they need to live."

You're arguing that i am choosing to not buy a yacht and go on a month - long vacation because i don't want to, not because i can't.

Except the yacht dealer can refuse to give you a credit line for this. In the US, a hospital cannot refuse you a credit line for a life-saving treatment or procedure--even if you're an illegal alien.

The official statement from Mitch

They're gonna vote on the full repeal "with a two year delay" that they already passed in 2015 only to, of course, get vetoed by Obama. If they passed it then, why not now, right?!

Some in the political sphere seem to think this will not be that easy now that the vote has real consequences.

Perhaps this was his endgame all along. Full repeal and then a two year ticking time bomb that forces bipartisanship and unites Democrats and Republicans for the good of America at last!

Mitch is going to bring this nation together again!

The implication was that Republicans'/conservatives' willingness to defend or downplay this whole scenario proves that we care about party over country. I am countering that a heightened focus on the past will ultimately lead to nothing positive for the nation. Trump isn't getting impeached. He won't resign. "Justice" will not be served for DJTJ. It will only continue the sideshow that American politics has become thanks to Trump, rather than focusing energy on actual governance.

I disagree

It's only really getting them in deep shit BECAUSE she is explicitly referred to as being a foreign agent attempting to influence an American election officially on behalf of her government, and Don Jr jumps at the chance.

If there was no foreign government mentioned, it's not a big deal.

Thankfully the emails don't mince words! Like, if this doesn't fit your criteria as intent to collude with Putin to influence an election, what WOULD?

90s kid implies having a youth fostered by the cultural milieu of the 90s. It's pretty arbitrary, but I'd place the apex of those formative years between 6 and 12, with an obvious midpoint of 1994, so we are roughly talking about people born between 1982 and 1988 as the "truest" 90s kids.
