You never know

Some research I've read predicts that this technology will be worth a hefty amount in 7-10 years. Where a $200 buy in today will look like chump change.

I'm not sure if I believe that, but it is a very interesting subject and the technology is worth keeping an eye on with some investments

Yeah I'm not sure about the hefty amount but at the same time, I never thought BTC would get over $1,200.

You're using your degree to get your foot in the door. After that, it's all about experience(work or self taught) and what certifications you have. All the job listings I've seen even for Data Center Engineer jobs like I have, only list Bachelors as a preferred requirement.

I haven't played SotN because I was mostly a PS2 gamer. I only played MGS1 in 2015, and I started being a big Metal Gear fan in 2007. The only PS1 games I really got were one-off titles like Arcade Party Pak (arcade port of Smash TV ftw) or established family-friendly franchises like Crash and Spyro. I have played the GBA games, which I understand are similarly rad as fuck.

I didn't have a PS1 growing up(N64 owner) so when I got my PS2, I bought a lot of PS1 games cause they were cheap at the time. Think I had around 20. Got SotN from a friend for free. He let me borrow the Dukes of Hazzard and "some vampire game" he said. Little did I know it was SotN. He didn't like the game so he just let me keep it. Yet he wanted that garbage Dukes game back. >_>

I want to play Xrd, but I dunno if I'll like the music or gameplay all that much compared to XX. Does Revelator at least have a story mode, or individual character endings like in Tekken? That might tip the scales in Xrd's favor.

I think it does. I only have the original Xrd so idk what was added with Revelator. Not sure if it's as expansive as the Story mode in X2 or not. I remember that game blowing my mind back on the PS2.

MrMallard posted...
've heard that Yakuza 3 (or 4) has a gallery mode with like gameplay movies or w/e that flesh out the plot of the previous Yakuza games. I hear Sega recently reprinted a bunch of PS2 copies of Yakuza 1 and/or 2, though - except they're like 80 dollars, and not even for a remaster or a more polished version of the game.

Hmm. If that's the case, I might get a couple of them. My PS2 no longer reads discs so the reprint idea is out.

Also side note on Okami, the tutorial is really long so bear with it. Not to spoil anything, in order to get all of the beads(which are secret collectables) you have to complete the bestiary. There is a missable beast or two you need to beat in one spot of the game. It's like 3/4ths of the way through the game. When you get to this place in time, you'll probably guess there's no way to get back to it after the fact. There is a point of no return in the game before the final boss but they make it very clear in red colored dialog.

You've never played Castlevania SotN? That's generally considered one of the greatest games of all time.

I second Okami. It's the best Zelda clone out there. Two drawbacks are that it's really easy(similar to Zelda) and the dialog tends to be drawn out and non skippable. It takes someone 3 paragraphs to tell you to go visit a village. Other than that, it's incredible.

Guilty Gear is always a good choice for a fighting game fan.

I've also been interested in the Yakuza series but scared to start with a sequel. Looks like what Shenmue was always suppose to be. For anyone else, how much story will be missed if someone starts with Yakuza 4 or 5?

Yeah, the few and the proud have the talent to be good at something quickly, but the rest of us have to put a couple thousand hours of honest effort into acquiring and mastering skills.

Like, nobody is good at anything immediately. I can pick up and play pretty much any game well now, but that's because I've spent 30,000 hours of my life gaming.

This.

Practice, Practice, Practice is the key to anything. You can be good at anything if you put in enough productive hours. People that are naturally gifted at something are able to pick things up quicker but they aren't the only ones that can do X thing.

Also saying "you failed at writing" isn't explaining anything. It's vague and childish.

Well if you owned a Wii that's how you played classic games

I can't even remember, tbh. There were backwards compatible games on it via an online store?

I know I had some Rock Band games, Mario Kart, and Wii Sports. Not sure if I had anything else.

On the Wii's main menu, there is an Shop channel that allows you to purchase games from older systems(NES, SNES, Genesis, etc). Most of them seemed over priced to me other than the N64 games.

Anyway Nintendo calls it their Virtual Console. The Switch will be getting the same thing soon except instead of buying each game individually, you pay for their monthly service and get access to all of the games.

Have either of you made any attempt to spice things up, or to take interests in each others interest? Have you tried anything to rekindle that flame? I mean, if you aint feeling it then you aint feeling it, but you owe it to your kid at least to try.

Maybe you feel like different people at the moment than when you did when you got together. Maybe try and pretend like you aren't together. Flirt with her like she's that cute girl you saw on the Subway. Ask her out. Find out what she likes. Go see a movie and take her out to eat. Go to a theme park, ride a roller coast. Go skinny dipping in the creek. Do anything.

And if all else fails, you could try swinging.

I'll second this. All relationships can get complacent after a while. That's why you have to always try at it. Basically try and act the same way to her that you did when you first started dating. I'm constantly reminding myself in my marriage to do little things that show I'm affection. If I don't, my mind will be on complete cruise control for weeks at a time.

When is the last time you two had any time alone? Let someone look after your kid and you take her out on a romantic date? Or how about getting a new hobby together?

Same. I happened to help my best friend's friend with something once and she started texting me roses and wanted me to do other things for her constantly. My best friend told me "I think she likes you" and I was just creeped out because I wasn't interested in her. Eventually blocked her.

Keep in mind, I've never been in a relationship before and I'm 27 right now. Once it happens to you you'll realize just how creepy it is.

I had a girl literally begging me to go out with her while she was hanging off my arm nearly in tears. I felt bad and I liked her at one point but that just turned me off completely.

I mean everyone's story wrapped up.

The people who got on the plane went back home. Sawyer becomes a cop, Kate and Claire go back to Aaron, Desmond goes back to his family, etc. They went on to live normal lives and eventually passed away of natural causes(or whatever else) like normal humans do.

Hurley and Ben go on to take care of the island. It would have been nice to see some of this but still...not really needed.

I liked the concept of the flash sideways and the church scene. It was all fun to watch but none of it had any bearing on the main story. The main story ended when The Man in Black was defeated, everyone left on the plane, and Hurley took over.
