Sifiso Lungelo Thabete broke his neck while performing his signature move on Aug. 5 during a competition He was rushed to the hospital, where he passed away from his injuries. As a former International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Junior World Champion, Thabete had a promising future ahead of him. Thabete's fatal backflip was captured on video and shocked many. Yet others criticized people for watching and sharing the video, calling it insensitive. "Why are you showing video of him dying," wrote one person. "Out of respect for his family please take it down." Thabete's family, it appears, agrees with that sentiment. "We're aware of a video of the incident circulating on social media, as is Sifiso's family, and they're understandably very upset about that," said the police.  I can't link to the site since it shows a video of him dying and Gamefaqs is iffy about that. But Jesus... poor guy. All that work, his whole life, gone in an instant. According to detectives, the defendant had somehow managed to live there by wedging himself between arcade machines and hiding there. The plot thickened as it also transpired that he had been breaking into a local junior high school and other buildings in order to steal money, bags and students’ PE kits. Despite working a part-time job in the city, the accused had, by breaking into the school and other buildings, managed to steal money and goods adding up to around 1,230,000 yen. Explaining how the man became homeless, police revealed that the defendant had left his home in Kyoto last year because of a breakdown in the relationship with his mother. Relying on a friend, he moved to Kobe city in Hyogo Prefecture. Before taking up residence in the arcade, he had been staying in cheap lodging houses and 24-hour manga cafes. Police described the criminal as having hidden himself in between arcade machines. While amusement arcades, or game centers as they’re known in Japan, are poorly-lit and open either until late or sometimes 24-hours, it seems hard to imagine that someone could live there without being noticed.
