IDK, you just come off like you are filled with resentment towards him over the worry you are going through. You sure have some justification to be worried and have some resentment, but I would think you care more about your relationship than money though of course you can't entirely separate the two. I'm just saying, but I've been in positions where it's hard to find a job where you are respected and appreciated. I've also had to swallow my pride and accept crappy jobs for years. I mean, yeah you do need the money to survive and all that, but there is very much a personal cost to it. I also don't think your SOs job would have been secured nor lost by his response to an offer for a beer. If that was really that big of a deal to his employer then that says a lot more about them.
