I usually include a complimentary adjective whenever I bother to mention their gender.

Like "strong sophisticated woman" or "talented". Typically gets a good response. I just make sure the compliment fits the individual person and doesn't sound like generalized buttkissing. If I gushingly refer to a woman as "compassionate" when she knows she's clearly got more of a reputation for being a hardass, that will just make her skeptical of trusting me. It would be better to use descriptors that are a knod to her predominant qualities (being a hardass); like strong, independent, resourceful, "gets down to business", "nobody's fool", etc.

I also prefer not to refer to a grown woman as "girl" before we're on friendly enough terms.
Although for the most part, I rarely need to bring up their gender in conversation to begin with.
Much less reason to when you're not interested in dating them.

is it a "doesn't do anything for me at all if I did so" kinda thing, or "the very thought of doing so is disgusting and freaky"?

I had high school girlfriends in my teens before I figured out I was gay and started dating guys exclusively. I had sex with girlfriends out of social obligation, not really attraction. A combination of seeing them satisfied and me getting "heteronormative" validation was enough to enable me to perform. It just wasn't satisfying for me. My body was beginning to push towards finding guys much more attractive both physically and socially.

After years of sex with men, I'm no longer conditioned to find intimacy with a woman appealing anymore. The "rewarding" factors that encouraged me to seek out female sex partners are no longer there. And it's not a personal thing. Most lesbians feel the same way when they ever consider going back to men; they can't do it. They can socialize with men, but find the idea of sex with them repulsive.

Can you be a racist and still be considered a good person?

In an awkward sense, yes, but it would still make the person socially toxic to be around for many people.

It's an interesting gimmick of conflict for story characters, but it rarely ever plays out well in real life. Having someone like that around will eventually trigger enough reactionary hate that it diminishes whatever good the person does to "compensate".

Were it only minimal or "benevolently stereotypical" levels of racism, people could be convinced to overlook those minor offenses if the person was at least noticeably beneficial to the community somehow (which does happen). It's similar to the trope of "jerk with a heart of gold".

Someone who outwardly acts significantly racist, however, can quickly become very difficult to condone in a society where people are easily offended by that. Even if they practically perform like a superhero to most of the community, it's not heroic to discriminate against innocent people.

Ethically, the person would not be good in the typical sense.

It's also heavier, which can sometimes cause neck and back discomfort.

Long hair is not that much heavier.

This can differ depending on the individual, particularly with gender differences involved.

For example, an able bodied man with larger neck muscles (than most women) is not going to notice much of a burden from having thick, long hair. However, petite or average sized woman with a thinner neck and thicker hair will likely feel a difference. And even if the felt weight is minimal, that's still enough to compel many women to ditch the Rapunzel look.

Why not? Who the fuck they trying to impress after 40...?

Women typically lose dating value the more they age no matter what they do. That's just how it works (most men place a BIG priority on a woman's physical beauty...her youth). So an older woman has less incentive to bother looking like a beauty queen when most attractive guys are no longer checking her out anyway.

In addition, basic biology can lead to an aging woman to adopt different choices in appearance. Just like men, many women also begin to have receding hair lines and decreased number of follicles. So shorter hair styles can still provide volume or style for an older woman with naturally thinning hair. Shorter hairstyles also reduce the weight burden on an woman's neck. Long voluminous locks can actually add noticeable weight to her head, which become less practical to have the older she gets.

TopicAre uglier/less than average women less likely to cheat than average/cuter ones?
ClockworkHare
08/16/17 12:16:22 AM
#2
Yes and no.

In the frequency of being approached which invites more opportunities to cheat: hotties will always get more bites. The hotter the person is, the more admirers that will approach them. That's just a reality you have to accept if you're determined to be in a relationship with someone exceptionally attractive. That doesn't go away just because you're committed to them or slapped a ring on their finger. To put it bluntly, you're virtually always going to need to carry a stick to beat creeps off of your hot looking partner.

As far as the frequency in whether or not a hottie and a less attractive woman considers cheating, the rate depends on multiple factors: the primary two being the local number of interested admirers and the individual woman's ethical beliefs/priorities (how she feels about cheating).

While it's commonly expected that an extremely attractive woman will invite more cheating, not every beauty is a disloyal ho. Some gorgeous women still have morals they take seriously when it comes to dependable relationships. If it's been hard for them to find a good man to settle down with before, they're more likely to stay loyal to an average Joe with a heart of gold while turning down Chads.

In contrast, not every woman lacking in looks is going to be committed. There's plenty of plain Janes and ugly women who still practice "hypergamy", excusing the casual infidelity in a number of ways. Ugly women, in particular, can develop a sense of resentment towards most men due to likely being ridicules for her looks by them at some point. This makes her less hesitant to "dump a zero and grab a hero" as soon as the opportunity arises. She's convinces herself that because of the crap the world has put her through she deserves a better man, regardless is she's already with a good man. It's a type of mental complex. The point is: don't assume an Ugly Betty is going to be super loyal. How committed a woman is really depends more on her personal character than her appearance.

Does the kid have a dad at home?

An active dad that interacts with him....?

I honestly dunno. Am I this kid's dad now?

It's not a universal thing, but sometimes when a small child has only had interaction with the mom and people who look similar, seeing someone who looks dramatically different can hook the child's curiosity. And that curiosity can encourage attachment.

This often gets misunderstood as the child being "naturally compelled to find a father figure ". That does happen, but not nearly as often as people presume. If the child has mostly only spent his/her existence around the mother and those who have similar traits (other women, girls), meeting someone noticeably larger/louder/masculine/more energetic looking than Mommy can cause the kid to think "woah....who's that ". Just basically anyone who looks significantly different than what the mother looks like. Sometimes seeing someone that different frightens the child (existential revelation: "omg there's other people and they don't look like Mommy "). Other times it peaks interest. Especially when the new person is more interesting than the mother.

This is a common case with small children raised by single parents. Children have a natural learning instinct to pursue curiosities (for the sake of survival). And bonds can be created while they do this.

Although I wouldn't take it too seriously. As a man outside of the family, you could just be the temporary "uncle" the kid has a good time with for a while before being forgotten. Despite the likelihood of the bond being short-lived, it can still be significantly beneficial for the child to have social exposure to people besides the home family. That early experience does a bit of "hard wiring" in their brain that will be the foundation of their social skills at later ages. Even if the kid forgets you some day, any fun times you had will help him emotionally develop enough to find more down the road.

Pro athletes who aren't total douchebags give underprivileged youth who lack gifted intelligence hope that they could still reach success someway.

Even if the kids never actually become athletes themselves, it can help knowing that someone else in the world with mere basic intelligence can still make it big. It can open their views to similar opportunities that are closer to home and practical.

And frankly, speaking from experience working in medical fields, quite a few doctors who prevent fatalities are still douchebags. Being a doctor is not a badge of honor in itself. Being an dependable and ethical doctor who displays at least bare minimum compassion towards patients even after years of practicing is what honorable medicine is. Sometimes there's just nobody around you subconsciously deem worthwhile to do it with.
