Umm....I'm not sure how kicking people out makes the landlords "greedy." I mean, if nobody's living there then they're not going to be making any money on those apartments. There's not greedy about making less money.

I'd say that a lot of those apartments that got flooded probably don't meet the legal standards for safe living spaces. So if the landlords were to let someone stay there, they'd be liable for all kinds of dangerous shit. Telling people they have to leave isn't motivated by greed so much as simple self-preservation. Let 1 or 2 floors go so that they can repair them and maintain the rest of the building, or let people stay and face possible legal repercussions that might cost them their entire business. Seems like a pretty easy choice to me.

EDIT: Does it suck for those tenants that have to leave? Absolutely. Of course it does. But it sucks for the landlords too. It's not like there's a winner in this situation.

No, you didn't.

Your goal: don't drink
What you did: drink

Your goal is not "drink less" or "don't drive when drinking." Your goal, which you are being legally forced into because you're mentally incapable of managing it of your own volition, is "DO NOT DRINK." It's not that fucking complicated. You did NOT stop yourself from drinking. You're a fuckup for even thinking for one second that what you did yesterday with "only having 4 shots of vodka even though I wanted more" was in any way a "success" of any magnitude. It was not. It was an abject failure. Which is exactly what you are as a person.

He was definitely gifted at riding brooms. Probably would have been one of the best seekers in Quidditch if he'd been able to go pro.

But to say he was "average as fuck" in general is just being disingenuous. He was capable of mastering the patronus charm very quickly at a very young age, which is notoriously considered a very difficult spell. He also picked up on magic as a whole extremely quickly, considering he didn't even know it existed until the day the owl showed up. Most kids going to Hogwarts grew up in magical households and were very familiar with magic and its potential their entire lives. Both of his parents were basically considered prodigies, and Harry's natural talent far exceeded most of his peers. He only appeared to be pretty much average because everyone else had a significant head-start on him.

Sony controllers are great. Not as good as XBox controllers, maybe, but definitely not as bad as the XBot fanboys claim.

I'd say PC + Sony is the way to go for a "well-rounded" experience. Considering most "exclusives" for the XBox are also available on PC due to the whole Microsoft Windows thing...might as well be able to have the Sony exclusives on console and the Microsoft exclusives on PC instead of missing out on the Sony ones entirely and essentially double-dipping on the Microsoft ones.

I can't remember running into any bugs during my first general playthroughs of Fallout 3, Oblivion, or Skyrim. I got a couple bugs with the settlements in Fallout 4, but I largely ignored settlements in general and didn't pay much attention to managing them so I wasn't surprised they started acting weird and it didn't really affect my game much at all.

Most of the bugs I've encountered in Bethesda games were during my second or third playthroughs where I was doing intensive min-maxing and exploiting everything I could. In my experience, they've always been thoroughly enjoyable and far more solid than people give them credit for. Definitely not perfect, but also understandable given the complexity of all the systems involved due to the scope of their games and worlds.

YouTube is pretty damn bad, even to just casual users. You think people detesting the monthly unnecessary design changes or the other various user-unfriendly UI are something only limited to hardcore and dedicated users? You think the constant takedowns of random videos and channels are something that doesn't bother casuals? YouTube is in the same position as MySpace with everyone having no other better options.

A casual user types "www.youtube.com" into their browser, clicks in the "Search" box at the top of the site, types what they want, and hits enter. They are then given what they want. It's extremely simple and straightforward for a casual user. If you like someone, you hit the subscribe button and then a direct link to their channel is placed on the left side of the website and is visible at all times. It doesn't get much simpler to use for a casual user.

Yes, there's a lot of bullshit behind the scenes for content creators. But the casual viewer of YouTube who has never uploaded a video or tried to monetize their creations never has to interact with much of anything. And the basic functions barely change from one new update to the next. The search bar is still at the top of the screen and will always be there, the list of your subscriptions is still on the left-hand sidebar and will always be there, etc.

If you go in to AA and announce "I've got some problems, and it's hard, and I've relapsed a few times but I really do want to get better I just don't know if I'm strong enough" then of course you're going to get support.

But if you go in and say "I don't have a problem, you're all just trying to drag me down but it ain't gonna work 'cause I'm awesome and you're all just jealous losers" they are absolutely not going to welcome you back to the next meeting.

You have to try. He hasn't been trying. He's been denying. That's really all there is to it. You can't help someone who doesn't want to change. And he obviously hasn't wanted to change because up until now he wouldn't even admit that something was wrong in the first place.

I support addicts who want to get help. Yes, it's hard. And yes, there will be setbacks. But as long as the desire to be better is there I will get behind just about anyone. You have to show me that desire is there, though, and TC hasn't so far.

FFS, the guy who worked this shift before I started literally stole from the store every single night he worked for years. He never paid for anything he ate or drank while on the clock and occasionally even just took straight cash out of the drawer and pocketed it. The boss's solution? No, it wasn't to fire the guy. It was to pay a second employee to come in half-an-hour early to do the thief's shift-close paperwork for him so that the numbers would be right.

My job was not on the line tonight. I really can't think of any way I could lose this job other than quitting. I just really don't want to deal with the hassle of getting the owner upset for no reason.

He's still fucking here. I just want to punch him.

He came up to the counter about 20 minutes ago asking if he could cash a couple tickets for $50. He can scan tickets on the machine and use that to buy more, and he's been doing that for the past 2 hours, so I figured he was cashing out and leaving. Nope. He specifically asked if he could get $30 in tens so that he could play a few more tickets.

He loses all $30, comes back up to the counter and asks if I can break the twenty into two tens so he could play one more. He loses that $10, plays the second $10 and loses it, then goes to the ATM and withdraws more money and is still playing. So he's literally taken $50 in tens out of my drawer for no reason, and if he asks again I'm telling him no so I don't compromise the drawer. I should have just told him that the first time, since I knew he was just going to end up putting all of it back into the machine anyway.

This is seriously getting infuriating at this point. I have shit to do, for fuck's sake. >:-|

Biologically immortal.

?

Basically, your body won't die of old age. But you can still be killed by accidents or disease.
