I love how people try to flaunt how successful and motivated and ambitious they are by working on Saturdays or Sundays, when the reality is that they just either A.) have no work/life balance, or B.) aren't good at their jobs which is why they end up working on the weekends

Or have weekdays off instead? I work Tuesday - Saturday.

I shrug it off and keep following the map. It leads me to what appears to be a hotel. I'm a little confused as to why my home address in my GPS led me here but relieved because I definitely want some rest, and I suddenly realize just how exhausted I am. I go to the front door and two policeman inside run to open the door like they're in a hurry to get somewhere. I find that weird, but just walk past them to the receptionist. I look back and they never went outside. They're just standing by the door watching me. Now I'm pretty nervous but still go up to the receptionist. I'm shocked when she calls me by name and says welcome back. I'm taken aback by this because I have no idea who she is or have any recollection of staying in this place. But I'm polite and say thanks and request a room.

This other girl comes out and says she'll lead me to my room but before that she gives me some coordination tests like "bring your hands up to your nose". Also gives me some simple algebra problems to solve. I of course pass all of these with ease, even if I think it's weird, I just play her little game. I'm just ready to go to bed then wake up and find out where I am and find a way home.

The girl leads me to my room. When I walk in, I notice that there's a bunk bed inside it, and no bathroom. Is this a hostel? I turn around and the girl is still there, and she asks me about some of the music I was listening to when I was walking along the river earlier, apparently it's some of her favorite bands too. But suddenly I realize just how bizarre all this is. How do these people know my name without me ever saying anything? They recognize me but I've never seen them before. How does this girl know what music I was listening to? There were cops at the door, are they tracking my phone? I start asking the girl these questions accusingly. She looks kind of hurt by my accusations but she doesn't look at me like she blames me for how I feel, she almost seems sorry for me if anything. She starts to answer my questions.

Then I stop her, remembering something important. I remember that my phone led you me in the first place. I pull out your phone and open up my GPS against more panicky than I did earlier. I distinctly remember having my home and work address saved. But there was no address listed under Work. And under Home, I only saw the state and the rest was just a blur. It was meaningless anyway. The state was Minnesota. I was far away from home, yet for some reason it was saved under my phone as my Home.

Then the weird sights and experiences I had tonight and lack of memory of how I got there, combined with the very weird reception at this "hotel" started to make sense. I just realize they didn't even ask for payment when they admitted me here which I didn't even think anything of before because their tests and they're familiar attitude through me off.

I start to feel the tears start swelling up. I look up from my phone at the girl, and she seems to understand what I'm thinking and kind of gives me a confirmatory nod.

And this is where I woke up. :-/

I come to my senses on a battlefield. Don't know how I got here or where I've been or where I'm going or who I'm fighting or which side I'm on. All I know is I'm in a big clearing surrounded by forest on all sides. There are no guns, just knives and bows. Arrows are landing all around me.

As I'm taking everything in, I get whacked in the arm, completely shattering it. I stumble around, trying to go anywhere away from where I just got attacked. I eventually collapse and then some girl heals my arm with some kind of healing power. This part is kind of fuzzy to me as I was pretty dazed.

I eventually come back to my senses, fully healed. No signs of a battle anymore, I'm just in the middle of the woods. I eventually come to two random guys standing by a tree. We chat for a bit and eventually I ask them where I am, and instead of answering my question, they give me a solemn look, and take out a knife. I'm scared I'm about to be attacked, but instead they start stabbing themselves. So I run away freaked out.

After running for a while, I'm still lost, but find a river. It's dark and very late. I decide to follow the river and see if it eventually leads to some kind of civilization. At this point I realize I have phone on me. I'm not getting any reception, but I have some music saved on it, so I listen to music to calm my nerves while I follow the river.

After a while the river leads me to some kind of bunker/treehouse thing in the woods. I climb it. On the other side I see a line of M&Ms (like in the commercials) and Gummy Bears (think Grateful Dead bears), fully alive and walking in a line towards me. I start hearing the sound of a ticket printer (I work at a restaurant, I have auditory hallucinations of that thing all the time). But hearing it here, I'm assuming this is some kind of factory where these sentient candies are being made infinitely. They eventually take notice of me and try to chase me. I run back down and as far away as I can get.

After I feel I'm a safe enough distance away, I pull my phone out in a panic and see I'm getting a signal now and use my GPS and hurry up and press home which I have saved already. I'm only about a mile away. Maybe I'm in the woods by my neighborhood?

I follow the map, and when I get out of the woods I'm confused because the town is unfamiliar. I keep following the map anyway. It leads me down a neighborhood. I see a guy sitting on his porch talking to himself. He sounds and looks just like my friend Colin from HS. I call out his name. He looks at me perplexed and simply shakes his head. I blink and look back at him and realize he looks nothing like Colin at all, how did I ever mistake that guy for him?

If a man isn't man enough to leave a shitty job and get another one that is his fault alone.

Then why can't the woman work the shitty ass job and the husband stay at home with the kids? You're perpetuating the exact "be a man" standards I'm directly questioning. And it's not always "just get a new job".

They could probably get a less demeaning job, but fact of the matter is these jobs pay well, they just have crazy hours and health risks.

MetaSeraphim posted...
That is because women were oppressed for years and made to think they were weak lesser versions of man, sure, we are slowly moving away from that. But it is still going to take time before women are as equally strong as men and men can be as equally sensitive as women.

This is just an appeal to emotion. I honestly think men have just as many problems in this society as women. It's just that they aren't as forthcoming about their problems and their problems aren't taken as seriously as women's. I see a video of a women beating the shit out of a man in public, and people actually laugh at the notion. She's slapping him, punching him, grabbing his hair, dragging him to the ground. People are laughing, because "he's a guy he probably deserves it". During the same skirmish all the guy does is push the girl away. Doesn't throw a fist or anything. Once that happens all of a sudden everyone wants to intervene and be on the girl's side.

Sorry, that is just a double standard that exists in our culture. Each sex has their pros and cons. You can't just cherry pick the good ones and add them to yours and act like that's fighting for equality.

Because men choose to do the job while women don't. Seriously, what kind of question is this?

Why do you think they choose to do it? Hint: it's often to provide for their wife/gf and child. Because they're expected to be the providers.

When women came into the workplace, it was empowering. But it's still not really socially acceptable for a man to be a "house husband" of sorts. I'm sure there are examples out there, but you know full well that isn't the norm nor the expectation that men have in society

there are extreme cases of sexism on both sides but you're going to be called sexist by somebody for pointing that out.

I honestly don't care at this point. I live in a house with 2 other women and I love them to death because they gave me an opportunity to move to a new location and essentially start a new life. I know my intentions behind my statements. It's not women hating or sexist rhetoric. It's simply putting the fact out there that the demands from a man as a society is crazy unrealistic and really fucked up when you look at the metrics of work environments and suicide rates and custody cases, etc.

Just tired of hearing how males have it made simply for being male. Humans are so much more complex than that.

The main criticism I have off modern feminism is, ok they want the perks that men have. They want the rights and status that typically men have. They've fought for, and won their rights. And they deserve them. I wholeheartedly want the opportunity for women to prove themselves to be capable of taking on the upper echelon jobs that are predominantly given to men.

The only problem is, men tend to also take the shittier jobs of society as well. They work in the mines, they pick up your garbage, they work construction including stories and stories high, they landscape for the rich people (often to feed their family, taking on the role of provider society puts on him). If a fire or some other kind of disaster happens they're expected to deal with it first and to give the women and children a head-start. I don't see women pining for these things as well that innately come with "being a man"

And to top it all off, an ideal man is not expected to show outward emotion about these things. Because complaining about imbalances in the system is considered "making excuses" and not rising to the occasion when your name is called.

This is why men have little to no support groups for their problems and women have a myriad of them for the same thing, because men are expected to bottle those problems in whereas it's ok for a woman to express those emotions and not be judged and to be able to cry when it's a normal emotional response for anyone. A guy crying will be called a pussy and told to suck it up while a woman will be consoled and have an adequate response by others to her emotional needs.

I'm not denying that there is sexism going on, but I'm just tired of it being so one sided like men in today's society have this instant first class ticket to life.

The Netflix formula is the future. We're gravitating more and more towards it. It's really just an inevitability at this point. That goes for movies and TV shows btw. Some directors are going to be resistant to it at first obviously. But as time goes on, the demand will prevail as the outdated supply and the outdated demand dies out. That's really just the way the world goes.

I read the first page of this topic.

I will just say, if a source is posting nothing but accurate information, it doesn't matter if they're withholding information to protect one side. Because everyone already knows the bullshit that the people on the right do. It's like a daily routine for many to shit on the right. What this source does is show you that the other side that is being protected by the mainstream media does just as much shady shit.

Like ok, they have a bias. Which news source actually doesn't? Very very few. But we have a source here that doesn't post false info. People are only getting pissed because they only post that shit against their side, so apparently they can't take it seriously? That's putting your head in the fucking sand.

Plus, I learned Nintendo polish is a real thing because for a game this massive it runs so fluid and has very flew glitches or bugs to speak of which is pretty common and expected of massive open world games.
