Can we finally admit that Star Wars in general is awful

Or are we still pretending that ESB wasn't a good accident

been saying this for a long time. could never really get into star wars but saw them so many times because my dad is a huge fan. they're just snoozefests except for like maybe 2 hours of the entire series.

Because from a young age we're taught "LAWYERS = MONEY". Same with doctors. Even though there's very few that make it through the whole shebang to open up their own practice or make a name for themselves and no one ever tells you how low you have to be on the totem pole and the shit wages you make before you can make real money, on top of selling your soul to pay for the education for it let alone the hours it takes to get through the curriculum.

And do you find it acceptable that you can't ever actually put any stock at all into the words of our president?

No I don't. That's why I stopped giving a shit about politics in general. If you want something done do it yourself. That's what BR did when the floods hit because they knew the government wasn't going to do shit after Katrina. Citizens of BR got in their boats and evacuated people in need and gave people shelter and there were many various people of all races going help gut and refurbish homes that were damaged. People down there have a certain autonomy about them and I kind of miss it being out here in Vegas sometimes. But you hardly heard anything about that situation nationally, because a story like that shows that people can be sufficient amongst themselves without the national government.

Let me ask you this, how many people do you know who want prison reform have gone to visit prisoners voluntarily with no other motive? How many people do you know who feel bad for homeless people or people who need food or shelter voluntarily go work in a soup kitchen or homeless shelter voluntarily (no court mandate, just that they feel passionate enough in what they say that they take action). There are definitely people out there that do that don't get me wrong, but there are so many more that recycle or throw their raggy clothes in the goodwill bin or write a check to somewhere that they never see where it goes, but it makes them feel like they made a difference and they can go on about their day, but they want these politicians to do all the real dirty work and get offended when they don't want to.

just saying, people get mad about politicians not practicing what they preach, when they themselves can claim to be so adamant about something behind the anonymity of the internet like it's what they live their life for when in reality they themselves also don't put forth a noticeable difference when they're perfectly capable of it.

While he was running I had a feeling a good bit of the stuff he said was just to get votes. He has shown some pretty liberal views in years before he ever considered office, and I just thought it was weird all that would change. Funny thing is both sides bit so hard on it but hey he won so it worked. We're kind of seeing this "backpedalling" on some things little by little and it's really just a product of him not having to campaign anymore. Surprise, people promise bullshit on the campaign trail

It wouldn't be some thing where I care about just any celebrity and it wouldn't be some thing where I completely melted down screaming and losing my mind like it's the most amazing thing I've ever experienced in my life.

This is more or less what I'm getting at. Like some people completely lose their shit and act like they shouldn't be worthy of being in the presence of them or some shit. It's like, damn, I can understand liking whatever album/movie/show someone was in but I just won't understand how so many people put those stars on pedestals as if they're something above humankind. It's just not a healthy way to think. These people have to eat shit and sleep just like you. Only thing is they get paid to be recorded in some way and shown to you for entertainment and get paid a lot.

I'm not going to read that because your signature is enshrined to celebrities.

I'm not saying that being a fan is a bad thing. I'm just saying I don't understand acting like these people are otherwordly beings whose shit doesn't stink. They're still just human. I love my sports teams but if I saw Drew Brees walking down the street I wouldn't try to pester him and try to act like he owes me something and try to spend 30 minutes talking about stuff he's probably heard from 100s of people a million times and trying to get selfies with the dude as if he doesn't have things he's trying to do that day or jst trying to mind his own business.

just from the few experiences i've had seeing what celebs go through on a day to day basis, like i remember chris pratt walked in to eat a meal at the restaurant i used to work at when he was filming a movie down in Louisiana, and all of my coworkers and all the customers there just bombarded him the entire damn time. he was just trying to get a bite to eat, let the damn man eat with his friends in peace. then sometimes i'll see a celebrity post on reddit or something and people are just like "wait, did ______ just reply to me seriously? OMG!" as if these celebs aren't real people that don't get on the internet and want to say something from time to time. they're just people, they have flaws just like the rest of us. only their job is to entertain so more people know about them. i can see why so many of them go crazy after a while because they can't do anything like a normal person (which when it comes down to, that's all they are, they just have a job that gets them more recognized nationally).
