I'll forever enjoy the parts between 0:12-0:45 (and 0:58-1:32 since it repeats here). Earthbound wasn't the most perfect game out there, but it had a nice soundtrack. Glad I finally got to finish the game in 2008.

Won't be frightened, I'll stand up to all the pain and turmoil
Just believe in myself, don't rely on others
Freedom will be waiting when serenity is restored
This is my planet, I shall not surrender

The singing vocalist is better here than the one that was in City Escape, and the background music is catchy this time around, especially the use of the saxophone. The rapper is a setback to me, which I usually wouldn't have a problem with, but something about this guy I don't care for.

I can't recall if the link you sent me had vocals or not, but this was the first thing that popped up when I searched this on Youtube just now.

Anyway, vocals aside, the song is almost your generic anime/video game credits song (something we'll see a lot of on this list scattered about, as expected). The piano and violin are nice contributions to this tune and make it worth listening to, but from what I listened to from nominated Umineko tunes (cause I've never played any of the series), this was the weakest of the bunch.

The piano in the song is pretty good and the use of synths around the 1:50 mark is a nice touch. It does dip a little in the middle and slows down a bit, slightly killing the vibe that the rest of the song provides, but I could still see myself getting a little motivated due to the opening of the tune.

While that's true, Taker/Punk still took the backseat to both "Twice in a Lifetime" AND HHH/Brock Lesnar.

I got mixed feelings on Punk's departure. While it sucks that Punk played second fiddle to Cena during most of his 15 month reign as champion, Punk would also respond by hardly putting anyone over on ppv in his final six months. Between SummerSlam 2013 and Royal Rumble 2014, the only people who pinned Punk on ppv were Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman; the former didn't need to beat Punk to elevate his status, and the latter is not even a wrestler.

And then appropriately enough, Punk's wife retires a year after he did without putting anyone over either. No wonder Nikki Bella held the Divas title for as long as she did.

You're pretty much correct with this statement. Punk stated in his interview on Colt's podcast that his one regret was never main-eventing WrestleMania, citing 2013 as the year he should have.

Csonka's final thoughts on his review at 411mania...

I firmly believe that there is enough room for Impact Wrestling in the grand scheme of things; I believe that some guys need the company and that they can serve an important purpose. I was 100% behind them and I was rooting for them on their latest reboot, I wanted it to work out, I wanted something fresh and entertaining; but they seemingly did everything in their power to make me want to turn off the show. In my 36-years of watching wrestling, this may very well have been the most damning and damaging broadcasts I have ever seen.

I once read somewhere that, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” No one that has ever been associated with the upper management in TNA/Impact Wrestling has ever heard that I’d wager to say because “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” was the latest attempt at rebooting “TNA.”

They spent the show building to a feud between two announcers.

They spent the show mentioning the name “WWE” more than “Impact Wrestling.”

They spent the show disusing how “great” the company used to be

They spent the show talking about how the company used to have cool wrestlers, and that those guys left because the company was completely inept at producing a proper wrestling company.

Those performers left because the company sucked, lacked leadership, and pissed off all of the fans.

They gave Reno Scum & Rachel Ellering about 6-total minutes, with none of the commentary time actually dedicated to them. The company acted as if they didn’t care about them so why should I?

They went right back to a new authority figure that spent more time shilling his podcast and name dropping WWE stars than putting over Impact wrestling.

The main event was a complete joke, a slap in the face to anyone that cared or invested time in the company; ending Lashley’s run in a clusterf*** match just to give Patron the title on night one just comes off so poorly. GIVE US ATTENTION PLEASE. Well you got it, you got my attention by putting on 120 of the worst minutes of weekly wrestling I have ever reviewed.

To truly start over, to eradicate the past and to not be bound by its sins, sometimes you need to completely burn it down and start over; instead Anthem got hoodwinked by a group of people that on various occasions almost ruined and closed down the company.

His score: 0 out of 10

From: Xenosaga Episode III - Also Sprach Zarathustra
Nominated by: Vlado (4 songs remaining)

The medley that comes in at the 12-13 second mark is pretty nice. The rest almost feels like your generic techno that is put in various games, and while it's not bad, it's also nothing truly remarkable either.

Again, this list was hard as fuck to compile, considering I've liked everything since Horror Land.

EDIT: Also, after this list, as long as I'm still somewhat sane afterwards, my next list is probably going to be one of my own volition. I've considered (nearly) EVERY song from Alice in Chains (both Layne and Duvall eras), as well as those from Jerry Cantrell's two solo records and Mad Season ranked from worst to best on a combined list.

I could definitely see this being a song you'd create stuff to, regardless of whether you're playing a city-creator game, or a game that has you creating individual people. The keys that played throughout half the song were catchy (example: the first set starting around 25 seconds). The additional sounds that played starting around the minute mark were a slight setback. Still had its catchy moments overall though.

The first 40 seconds is a somewhat nice techno sound nearly ruined by unintelligible vocals. Afterwards, the song picks up with a good tune, only to end less than 30 seconds later just when I'm finally getting into it. TWEWY had some great tunes within, but this isn't one of them. Another decent one at best.

Now we get to the "FFFFFFFFFF I have to regretfully put several songs out early tier" with the Horror Land theme. It has catchy moments, as observed when you listen, and surely the music sets the atmosphere for this area in Mario Party 2 (which I admittedly never played. My Mario Party history is 1, 4, and 8). But when compared to a large portion of this list, it falls short. And in some ways, despite being a horror land theme, some of it has slight circus-esque elements to it.

Two lines are repeated throughout the entire song and it's three chords. While it's somewhat catchy, it's not that compelling to me as a game tune. I got more of a kick out of the lyrics, which explain the tale of a woman pushing her younger sister into the sea to drown her in order to win the captain's son's heart. Later a fiddler makes a fiddle out of the younger sister's dead body.

A decent tune at best, and there's far better out there

While I enjoy a lot of songs from the entire Katamari series, this one falls in the lower tier of songs from said series. Some of the bells and whistles that come with this tune are a little catchy, but for the most part it's unmemorable.

It's not necessarily a bad song, just... not a great one either. Didn't really get at me or anything, but as I may or may not have discussed before, GTA3 had the weakest soundtrack of all the 3D Grand Theft Auto titles; I normally found myself listening to the hip hop station in that game more than anything else. The mellow-style the music provided wasn't that bad, but the vocals made the song feel like it drag on for a bit.

In what is bound to be a stacked 178-song topic, something had to be the caboose. Sorry Alt =\

You guys nominated, and I compiled a massive list (and a massive headache in the process) that hopefully I can make decent writeups for. Needless to say, this is my hardest list yet considering I liked practically 99% of the songs nominated.

First and foremost, as always, continue to be patient and flexible with my unpredictable schedule. Apparently my 5 month mission got changed to something else that's not 5 months long, but then it could change into something completely different. If something occurs to where I can't be on here for this topic, I'll save all my writeups on a word document and resume this countdown when I'm able to at a later date.

That being said, here we go!

So... Mania's card... (matches confirmed are bold, italicized are ones speculated so far based on story progression)

Goldberg vs. Lesnar for Universal title
Wyatt vs. Orton for WWE title
Jericho vs. Owens for the US title
Bayley vs. Charlotte vs. Sasha for the Raw Women's title
Andre Battle Royal
Anderson/Gallows vs. the winner of Enzo/Cass and Sheamus/Cesaro for the Raw Tag Team Championships (I predict a double finish/no contest and thus a triple threat is created)
Alexa Bliss vs. any available competitor in the SD Women's Division for the SD Women's title (I'm still thinking a fatal four way)

Cena/Nikki vs. Miz/Maryse
American Alpha vs. Usos for the SD Tag titles
Ambrose vs. Corbin for the IC title
Neville vs. Aries for the Cruiserweight title
Roman Reigns vs. Undertaker

Add to this the possibilities of AJ vs. Shane McMahon and Big Show vs. Shaq, as well as segments featuring New Day and HHH/Rollins, and you got a massive WM32-sized card on your hands.

Title updates, cause we haven't had this in awhile...

WWE Championship - Bray Wyatt is officially the 49th superstar to hold this title! His 23 days helps him pass Buddy Rogers and Rob Van Dam, putting him in 41st place.

Universal Championship - Owens' reign ends at 188 days. He'll be in first for awhile, since Goldberg and Finn Balor have a combined 4 days as champion!

IC title - Dean Ambrose has 128 days total as champion and will pass Rey Mysterio tomorrow for 41st place. Next up is Owen Hart with 132

US title - Chris Jericho is #57 in the US rankings with 58 days as champ. Next up is Hugh Morris who had 64 days as champ.

Raw Tag - Anderson and Gallows are tied for 61st place with the New Age Outlaws and Damien Mizdow, all with 37 days. By this time next week, they'll also pass Edge and Sheamus.

SD Tag - American Alpha only needs two more weeks to pass Heath Slater and Rhyno for the top spot! Can the Usos stop that from happening? Only time will tell...

Raw Women's - Bayley will be in last for a while, considering her 22 days doesn't match up to Sasha's 75 or Charlotte's 246.

SD Women's - Alexa just passed Becky Lynch today for most combined days as SD Women's Champion! Huzzah!

Cruiserweight - Neville passed Brian Kendrick last week. He needs 10 days to pass TJ Perkins and 26 to pass Rich Swann to truly be King of the Cruiserweights!

Made Up/Useless Titles that only we/the PWB keep track of
WWE's The Man: John Cena
WWE's The Guy: Goldberg
TNA's The Man: Lashley
Raw Jobber Champion: Bo Dallas
SD Jobber Champion: Aiden English
Raw Women's Jobber Champion: Dana Brooke (will be vacated after Thursday, due to Dana not "defending" the title in six weeks)
SD Women's Jobber Champion: Mickie James
Cruiserweight Jobber Champion: Lince Dorado
TNA Jobber Champion: Rockstar Spud

It will always bug me that all of these "unbeatable monsters" they keep building up only exist to be fed to Roman.

Replace Roman with Hogan and you just reproduced half the letters to the Observer between 1985 and 2000. It's how top faces are booked (Roman's suitability as top face notwithstanding).

Also see: Cena in 2005-2007. Ended Umaga's undefeated streak, then went on to be the first guy to both pin and submit Khali. And in 2005 he ended Hassan's undefeated run in less than a minute (though in that defense, Hassan wasn't a monster heel)

Last night Goldberg became the latest wrestler to win a world title in 3 different decades. The official list is as follows...

Ric Flair
Hulk Hogan
Kane (only if the ECW title counts)
Sting
Big Show
The Rock
Triple H

I don't even care about Owens. Him beating Goldberg just makes Goldberg look bad-- Owens is a ruined commodity at this point. In fact I wish there was no distraction whatsoever cause I hate "HE WAS DISTRACTED BY MUSIC."

Doing that to Braun though I think they lost my Raw viewership again. Him and JeriKO (rip) were the only things I was watching Raw for.

It's been a good 6 months time to hit the bench again.

Legit waaaaaay more upset about this

This, although I'm afraid I saw it coming. Braun destroyed Reigns in practically every encounter prior to Fastlane, so it was almost expected that they'd put Roman over since he was the underdog coming into this.

07 Rumble was a solid PPV without question, and my favorite final two of any Rumble. When you really think about it, they truly began planting the seeds for HBK/Taker there. For those who missed out on WWE action in early 2007, the Road to WrestleMania was pretty entertaining for the most part.

After winning the Royal Rumble, Taker spent the entire week popping up at the end of Raw, ECW, and SmackDown to stare down Cena, Lashley, and Batista. I could be wrong here, but I'm certain Undertaker became the first person to appear on all 3 shows AND a ppv all in the same week. A week after the Rumble, all three World champions appeared in the ring for Taker to make his decision. He sealed the deal with a chokeslam to Batista.

On Raw, a triple threat match was booked involving Shawn Michaels, Edge, and Randy Orton, with the winner facing Cena at WrestleMania 23. HBK wins to set up the main event for Mania; to further add tension to this feud, HBK and Cena had just defeated Edge and Orton to become World Tag Team Champions. They were booked to wrestle Batista and Undertaker in a non-title match in No Way Out's main event; that match concluded when Batista finally snapped and spinebustered Undertaker, allowing Cena to pin the Deadman (Cena's only career victory over zombie Taker). Cena would be warned that HBK would turn on him like he's done everyone else in his life; he'd finally realize this when on Raw a week before WM23, HBK superkicked Cena, allowing Batista to pin him (in a rematch from No Way Out).

After failing to win the title shot at WrestleMania 23, Edge and Randy Orton were both put in MITB qualifiers; Edge defeated RVD while Orton defeated Carlito and Flair to get in said match.

The ECW title in its first year of re-existing would not be defended at WrestleMania. ECW Champion Bobby Lashley would be selected as Donald Trump's representative in the Battle of the Billionaires Hair vs. Hair match, and he'd wrestle Vince McMahon's representative, the reigning Intercontinental Champion Umaga. In some ways, you could say that Trump's hair was more valuable than the ECW Championship. And you probably wouldn't be wrong either >_>

Most know what happened after the 2006 Rumble, but for those who don't, here were the major key parts!

Rey Mysterio put his Wrestlemania spot on the line against Randy Orton at No Way Out. Orton steals the win when he uses the ropes for leverage after reversing a 619. 5 days later on SmackDown, however, Teddy Long puts Rey Mysterio back in the main event of WrestleMania, setting up Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio because f*** logic.

Cena would retain the WWE title against Edge on two more occasions following the Royal Rumble. Edge would leave the title picture when he blamed his next loss to Cena on Foley's ref skills, and therefore the Edge/Foley hardcore match would soon be born. As for the WWE title itself at WM22, a small tournament would determine the #1 contender. The final match was a triple threat with Triple H, RVD, and Big Show, with Trips emerging victorious, setting up HHH vs. Cena for the first time ever.

Mark Henry's latest quest to be relevant would soon lead him to the Deadman. Henry cost Taker a world title win on SD after No Way Out. Taker would soon challenge Mark Henry to a casket match at WrestleMania 22, where the World's Strongest Man would have a shot at being the 1 in 13-1.

IMO, the 2006 Royal Rumble really did suck. Rey never wins this match (or the world title) if Eddie Guerrero never passed away. Edge being the one to end Cena's 280-day reign would only lead to him holding the belt for 4 weeks before WWE proceeded to continue shoving Cena down our throats. Finally, it's obvious that the only reason Angle and Henry main evented the ppv was for Undertaker after the match (which I admit I thought was pretty badass)

Looking forward to the 2007 writeup.

Wrestlecrap had a What If scenario that involved Hassan returning to Raw after UPN gave him the boot from SmackDown.

Like every other What-If storyline they do, it was laughably bad. The final segment for Hassan was him, Daivari, and Carlito becoming a team and embracing the evil foreigner/terrorist gimmick weeks before Survivor Series 2005 (where in this scenario, the main event was a 5-on-5 match between Angle (c)/JBL/Batista/Cade/Murdoch vs. Cena (c)/Edge/Shelton/Regal/Benoit with the winning team captain getting control of Raw; this leads to Team Angle winning, and then Edge cashes in on Cena)

The story after the Royal Rumble was one of the best pre-WrestleMania stories during the brand split era.

Assuming that Batista would stay on Raw, Teddy Long booked an 8-man tournament to determine who would challenge the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 21. This tournament concluded at No Way Out, where Cena defeated Kurt Angle to earn that opportunity. Shortly after, JBL retained his WWE title against the Big Show in a barbed wire steel cage match.

Meanwhile, after Batista won the Royal Rumble, Triple H started devising a plan to have Batista go to SmackDown and challenge JBL for the WWE Championship. HHH resorted to actions such as orchestrating a hit and run on Batista, using a limo similar to JBL's, and other various things to convince Batista to jump ship to SmackDown. It almost seemed like it would happen as Batista showed up at the end of No Way Out, ambushing JBL and The Cabinet.

24 hours later, Batista would end up being aware of HHH's plot when overhearing a conversation between him and Flair. When it came time for the contract signing, Bischoff and Teddy made their arguments on why Dave should choose their brand's world title at WrestleMania, but HHH would give the most convincing argument...

I want you to picture something Dave, imagine this... it's WrestleMania 21, it's all said and done, and I'm standing in the middle of this ring still the World Heavyweight Champion! And standing right next to me is the new WWE Champion, Batista. Think about it Dave, we would rule the world! We would answer to no one, man! Everything we ever dreamed of. You know how big that is?

Think about it like this, it's 1986, the Four Horsemen are running wild, Ric Flair is the NWA Champion! But what if... what if Arn Anderson were the WWE Champion? They would have been unstoppable! But it never happened.

Think about it like this, DX in our prime, on top of our game, Shawn Michaels is the WWE Champion! But what if I had been the WCW Champion? We could have written history! You see that Dave? But it never happened...

Dave would eventually toss the Raw contract aside and prepare to sign the SmackDown one, but this only led to the infamous thumbs down from Batista, turning him face as he elected to stay on Raw instead. He sealed the deal by powerbombing HHH through a table, also bringing Evolution to an end (until 2014)

On a side note, Vince's torn quads kept him from stepping into a ring for quite awhile. He didn't wrestle again until WrestleMania 22 in 2006, his first official match since February 23, 2004.

Test's final years in the WWE were hilariously bad. After they did so much to put him over in early 2003 with Stacy Keibler, we then got the following...

- A feud with Scott Steiner where Steiner wanted Stacy to be his girlfriend while Test just wanted her as a slave
- Test wins back Stacy in a match by faking an injury, then wins the services of Scott Steiner a month later
- Steiner, pissed off that Stacy cost him the match against Test AND a tag team title match (despite the fact Steiner hated his partner in said match) turns heel
- Test and Steiner reform their tag team, where the only match they win as a heel tag team in 3 months was a handicap Singapore cane match against RVD.
- A segment where we see Test's bare ass and Steiner's thong as they attempt to make Stacy the first and only member of the Test and Scott Steiner Kiss My Ass Club
- Said segment was interrupted by guest GM Mick Foley, who frees Stacy Keibler from her confinements by firing Test and Steiner
- Except Foley reveals at the end of Raw that he never really fired anyone, just wanted to teach Bischoff a lesson. Yet somehow Stacy is still no longer on Test's contract.
- Test and Steiner break up when they argue over who should pin Goldberg in a triple threat match and both wind up losing to him instead
- Steiner leaves WWE after the 2004 Royal Rumble. Test misses the Rumble cause of Foley and goes 1-3 against Stevie Richards and then teams up with Matt Hardy until being released in 2004.
- Though Test does get another slight crack at WWE when he's put on ECW in 2006, where he squashes an Al Snow past his prime and tag teams with Mike Knox, all before going 0-3 against Lashley in 2007, and then being released again.

It would also be the first Rumble where the winner would exploit the loophole in the title match at WrestleMania. Instead of Benoit challenging Lesnar, he jumps ship to Raw to challenge HHH instead!

SmackDown settles this void by having Angle, Cena, and Big Show wrestle a triple threat match at No Way Out, with the winner earning a shot at the WWE Championship at WM 20.

As the first Royal Rumble in the era of two world titles, there was no mystery to who Lesnar was challenging at WrestleMania XIX.

On the Raw after No Way Out, a 20-man battle royal would determine who would challenge HHH for the WHC; Booker T would go on to win said royal but fell short at WrestleMania.

2001 is not only my favorite Royal Rumble, but the ppv itself is one of my all-time favorites from the 2000s decade. Not on the same playing level as WrestleMania X-7 or SummerSlam 2002, but still solid ppv all around.

Not much to say concerning the aftermath of the Rumble. Angle drops the WWF title to the Rock at the next ppv to set up Austin vs. Rock at X-7. Kane is turned face overnight solely because of his performance at the Rumble. Austin and Triple H settled their differences in the first ever 3 Stages of Hell match at No Way Out with Triple H winning 2-1; in WWE's year-end special on TNN, that was named the 2001 Match of the Year.

I assume that's why The Big Show was in the main event at Wrestlemania 16?

That whole story line was a mess. So here's what I recall...
- Big Show provides video evidence that Rock's feet touched the ground first. HHH grants him a match against The Rock at No Way Out with the title shot on the line at WrestleMania 2000.
- Shane McMahon returns from a 2 month absence and turns heel, helping Big Show win and setting up Big Show vs. Triple H at WM2000.
- Two weeks later, The Rock challenges Big Show to a match for the spot at WrestleMania, putting his own career on the line. Vince McMahon returns and helps The Rock win, setting up The Rock vs. Triple H at WM2000.
- That same week on SmackDown, Shane McMahon declares that Big Show's spot was never on the line in that match, only The Rock's was. This leads to Triple H vs. The Rock vs. Big Show at WM2000.
- A week later, Vince books that triple threat match for Raw, with HHH's promise that the match won't happen a second time at the ppv. Triple H retains the title in said match. Afterwards, Linda McMahon appears for the first time in ages and books a Fatal Four Way elimination match at WM2000 between Triple H, The Rock, Big Show, and Mick Foley. Each person would have a McMahon in their corner in this match, thus making it more about the McMahons feuding with each other and less about the 4 wrestlers feuding over the WWF title
- At WrestleMania, Vince turns heel and aligns with Stephanie and Shane, helping HHH become the first heel to close out WrestleMania with a win (Shane also almost immediately forgets about Big Show after he's the first one eliminated in the match)
- Foley is completely gone until that summer when he becomes Commissioner
- Big Show is out of the title picture and turns face by impersonating various superstars (only to turn heel again before summer ends)
- Triple H and The Rock continue their feud, with one-time appearances by Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, and Undertaker riding motorcycles
