Funny enough, various parts of this song I could imagine seeing in Ace Attorney. It's almost the perfect followup to when Phoenix reveals jaw-dropping information that begins to swing a case in his order. Some of this is great techno, and a little bit is over-the-top techno. The first 18 seconds are pretty awesome, then the composer gives us a slow build to the fast pace which starts at 1:37, which is also great. The guitar, violins, and some of the percussion steal the show here. It's no surprise that the Uncharted series has had great soundtracks.

Speaking of which, you guys missed a golden opportunity to nominate any of the main menu themes from the first 3 Uncharted titles. I spent nearly 3 years waking up to that on a daily basis.

This might be the biggest leap in quality I've ever seen from a sequel, but then again Assassin's Creed was so bad that I never bothered experiencing AC2.

I'd say AC to AC2 was the biggest personally.

Better question is, what's the biggest drop in quality for a series' follow up title? For me it's either DMC1 to 2, or RE4 to 5.

While I'd prefer other Final Fantasy boss themes over this one, FF8's has a nice vibe to it that reminds me of Boston at times with its use of what sounds like the organ Boston used in their songs. Preferred part of the tune for me is between 0:34 and 1:05.

Before anyone asks, the regular boss themes I'd absolutely put over this from the FF series are IV, VI, VII, and X. Maybe IX, but not too sure on that one.

Goldberg's match with DDP at Halloween Havoc is without question one of the best (and few good) matches of his career. Honorable mention to his brawl with Scott Steiner at Fall Brawl 2000, which is mostly good until Vince Russo and Midajah get involved.

I like the small buildup at the beginning that helps you realize you're about to brawl with a badass dude like Gilgamesh; it lasts only 16 seconds but at that point you finally find out what you're getting yourself into. Also the "horns" (or what sounds like a trumpet kinda) from 0:33 to 1:03 sound pretty awesome as well.

One of these days I'll play Final Fantasy V and see it through to the end.

My only experience with The Legend of Heroes is the hour or so that I've put into Trails in the Sky. Someday I'll get back to that, but until then...

This one's good to listen to, though not without its flaws. It spends about a minute and 20 seconds dragging a little before going way over the top with its techno atmosphere. Still worth listening to after the first 80 seconds for sure though, it'll get you amped for just about anything.

The final showdown with your rival in Pokemon RBY was one for the ages. All the efforts you had made into building your elite six and now all the chips were on the table, as you faced the punk who had been one step ahead of you the entire game.

For a turn-based final battle that involves as many as 12 Pokemon beating each other up, Game Freak does a good job composing a simple, yet effective theme for it. Some of the small things I appreciate are at the very beginning, as well as 0:59

There were a lot of complaints I had about Blue Dragon, but thankfully the soundtrack wasn't one of them. After working with Square for the majority of his career, Nobuo Oematsu broadened his horizons and helped compose music for games such as Lost Odyssey, The Last Story, and this one.

The cave's theme sounds like it could easily be in a Disney film. The first 30 seconds or so give me a slight Aladdin vibe, and the flute/guitar combo is smooth as ever.

This song went back and forth on parts that got me amped and parts where I wondered what happened. For the most part, this song has heavy influences of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, as well as Dream Theater, both which are a plus. The first two minutes have excellent guitar/drum work and some good keyboard. Afterwards, the song slows down immensely for a minute or two, but is saved by a godlike bassline (which without question is the best instrument in the entire song).

As a regular song, it hits pretty hard on the good parts. It's not one I'd expect in a video game, but then again, I've never played GuitarFreaks.
