The only other example I can think of was Survivor Series 2000 when HHH was trapped in a car that Austin had a hold of with a crane. Austin drops the car upside down with Trips still inside.

HHH returns 8 days later, coincidentally just in time to screw Austin out of the WWF title against Angle.

Guess WWE figured it was all good when that same Philly crowd cheered Reigns when he won the title at the end of 2015.

Cause literally the only thing worse than a Reigns title run was a Sheamus one.

And yes, it's only appropriate that 2 is both the worst FF and the worst F&F. Though it does get inaccurate with later titles (Final Fantasy IV is good, Fast and Furious isn't. Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift is good, Final Fantasy III isn't).

This nomination caused me to look this game up, and mannnnnnnn does it look badass. Anyway...

"Beetle" starts off slow with a minute-long buildup to the main event, which then turns the song into a fast-paced rave-like tune that's worthy of high speed space travel. Also certain it helps you appreciate the kind of game Thumper is as well.

This one has an assortment of great sounds here, whether it's the accordions that come in at 29 seconds or the medley that starts at 1 minute. Quite a bit of it reminds me of what I'd later hear in some of the mid 2000s Nippon Ichi releases (mainly Atelier Iris). But overall, it just goes to further show how great of a game FFX truly was. It's the highest ranked FFX song on this list; while it's not the absolute best that FFX had to offer, it's pretty damn close.

I'm torn when it comes to the N64 Zeldas. They're #2 and #3 on the Zelda list (LttP is forever #1), and it's really easy to swap OoT and MM as they're both amazing games in their own way. Astral Observatory does so much with the little bit of 35-36 seconds before the tune repeats on, whether it's the fast string/key work that goes on through the tune, or the near angelic sound that lasts throughout it.

#61: You're Not Alone
From: Final Fantasy IX
Nominated by: Anagram (4 songs remaining)

For the last decade, I've considered Final Fantasy IX not only to be my favorite game in the series, but also my second favorite game ever made. It was the true swan song to the PS1 and was praised not only for its soundtrack, but also nearly everything else in the game.

This theme plays when Zidane loses faith in his friends and tries to fight his way to Garland alone. The scene is considered by some to be one of the top highlights in the game (if not the entire series) and the music helps a little too. At 1:13 is when the electric guitar comes in and the song goes from great to even better.

I honestly wanna hear the first 42 seconds of this tune on an electric guitar. Devil's Crush already sounds like a badass game based on this music alone, with fast paced percussion and synths used to the nth degree here. It's probably one of the few shining moments on the Turbo Grafx-16 and props to Toshiaki Sakoda for crafting this with some serious metal vibes going on here.

Interesting fact: Later on down the road, Sega Genesis received a port of this game called Dragon's Fury. This theme isn't as good and probably would have ranked a lot lower

The main rhythm that lasts throughout most of the song (starting at 12 seconds) is pretty rad and catchy; outside of that, there's still plenty to enjoy throughout the tune thanks to its techno vibes and good beats. Arcade style beat-em-ups were some of my favorites to play in the 16 bit era, and standing in the elite of that class was Streets of Rage 2. When you make your way into a small elevator at one point, Streets of Rage 2 turns into Streets of Rave 2 as you have to beat down several enemies while slowly waiting to get to your next destination. The music was only a small reason why this was the best in the trilogy, but it damn sure helped, especially with techno themes like this.

The Star Ocean series as a whole is hit or miss when it comes to gameplay and plot, but they usually hit it out of the park when it comes to the soundtracks and this is no exception.

Blood Dragon is a unique experience. What many thought was simply going to be an expansion pack to Far Cry 3 turned out be a game some even considered better than FC3 itself. Going back briefly to the discussion of retirement/final matches, I noticed something awhile back.

From WrestleMania 24 to 27, a major superstar wrestled their final televised WWE match at said ppv.

XXIV - Ric Flair
XXV - JBL
XXVI - Shawn Michaels
XXVII - Edge

Admittedly, the only person to not wrestle a single match after their retirement/final match at WrestleMania was HBK. If you include everything, Flair wrestled a couple matches in TNA between 2010 and 11. JBL appeared in the 2014 Royal Rumble, even if only for less than 20 seconds. Finally, Edge wrestled two days after WrestleMania XXVII in a 10-man tag team match, though it was after SmackDown went off the air.

No one else would retire with WrestleMania being their final match until this year, where it's safely presumed that both Undertaker and Goldberg wrestled their last matches. (And technically, Rock's "final" match is currently a 6 second win over Erick Rowan at WM32, but we'll see if that ever changes >_>)

Oh the memories of this game. Super Mario 64 stands tall as one of my 20 favorite games ever, and the music is surprisingly the smallest of reasons. Despite that, the soundtrack is still full of catchy tunes that are just fun and enjoyable. And then there's this.

The theme used for Dire Dire Docks and Jolly Roger Bay might be my favorite in the entire game, which is saying a lot because neither area is my favorite in the game (or top 5 at that. Maybe top 10). It fits the bill with its slow keys and relaxing melody in what is mostly underwater missions for stars. I admit the song kinda loses its edge almost 2 minutes in when drums are slowly added in, but it still doesn't take away the joy I get from playing either of these levels and hearing this theme.
