I could be wrong here, and I don't know the books, but there's a weird amount of good/evil discussion surrounding our main characters given how grey the whole story has been. I don't expect it to be as tidy as a lot of people make it sound, like jon/dany/jaime vs. the white walkers as if it's some final boss in a jrpg. I'd just as soon see everyone dead except for like sam who eulogizes about the whole thing and arya who just continues to kill everyone she can find.

I'm just going by what I think this show has become, now that it has split from the books, which is basically an anime/jrpg. I would be highly impressed if they go with a more avant garde resolution to the story, but I'm not putting my expectations that high. Worst case I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The absolutism on stuff like this is so dumb. Of course girls are turned off from tech from the day they are born, decades before they could be hired by Google. But why in the world does that preclude sexism for being a reason? Why can't it be sexism at an extremely early age that causes this?

This isn't just straw-grasping speculation. It literally explains every single question SSC poses in that post. He goes through the timeline from college, high school, middle school, elementary, pointing out that the gender imbalances are all there. But why does he just stop at elementary? He stops so close to the answer that it seems intentional. Like he discovered that the social pressure starts before elementary, and was just too embarrassed to admit it. It also explains why other cultures (India) have ~50% women in tech.

It's not a big swerve. It's a slow swerve. The instant she crossed the sea, she stopped being the underdog. It does look like the show is actually turning her from an infallible protagonist to someone more ambiguous, more like the other Westeros characters. Jon and Dany could not both have been THE protagonist, and they clearly picked Jon. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if Dany started becoming more of an antagonist.

It's not a scam at all. PUAs are selling confidence for losers who hate women to go out and play the numbers game. It completely works. That is not a scam at all.

If you were a loser who thought you were buying some secret technique to get women, then I can see why YOU would think it's a scam and be super insecure and defensive about it. But that's really your fault... I wouldn't really blame the savvy businessman for that. (I would blame them for perpetuating misogyny and such but that's a separate issue.)

The numbers game is NOT a scam. It is all that matters. This is what I have been saying from the beginning.

Of course it's a scam to a certain degree and the numbers game is indeed part of it. But I've seen guys pick up women with negging, and they weren't just going to everyone doing it, some were former friends that had consistent success.

They're not staging things... if you ask 100 girls in a night and 1 is successful, then that's all you need to seem successful.

And of course negging works. Probably 10% as well as a better strategy, but that just means you have to approach 10x more women and you're even.

Like do you understand how big a leap it is from "I've seen it work on MORE THAN ONE OCCASION!!!" to "it IMPROVES your chances"?

Or are you talking about their book sales? Oh yeah, if you want to sell books to desperate people, PUA is a very good way to go. You could also try crystal therapy, or mind reading. Homeopathic medicine might be the best because you can actually sell people a subscription to dried grass from your backyard or some bullshit in addition to your book.

If you look at all the hundreds of different PUA styles and fool-proof techniques and everything, there's only one constant: the numbers game. That just makes sense. Everything else is just sweet, often misogyny-flavored candy to convince you to actually go out and participate in the numbers game.

Pretty much. It was obviously a compromise between her and Tyrion to just attack the soldiers.

If there is a ton of money in a field, greed equalizes it all.

It's only when there are enormous social pressures and biases that overcome greed that you see big inequalities. Tech in the US has a huge "nerdy" aspect to it, which our culture deems inherently male. Nursing similarly is deemed inherently female. Without that cultural pressure, there's not much (usually) to stop people from just chasing the money equally.

Men are more likely to go into coding not because we are "biologically" better at it (maybe we are, maybe we aren't. There is some evidence for both tbh). Its because the big money moved into computer science sometime in the 80s, it became a more stressful environment because everyone is trying to get that next big app out.

Women were more likely to be coders in the 70s and earlier, because the big money wasn't in computer science yet.

India has like 40-50% women in CS fields BECAUSE it is by far one of the most lucrative fields.

Did you even think to verify your theory against a single other data point or do you just enjoy coming up with nonsense?

I do like this recent rhetorical trend of "extreme moderates" being the true enemy. That the insane people who hate Trump AND Hillary equally are actually the ones ruining the country.
