This chick has been living rent the hell free in my head for like a decade.

I can't get past how in Cake Wars Waylynn Lucan is introduced in every episode as a "renowned pastry chef" but AT LEAST one in three cakes she complains is "too sweet." IT'S A CAKE, YA DIMWIT.

It just makes me wonder how she became a "renowned pastry chef" selling BITTER-ASS pastries.

She needs to go judge, like, broccoli wars or some shit.

I never watched it. I sorta thougt, if you were gonna make a spinoff of Family Guy, you could at least pick a better character.

Slow drivers look like they're safer because they don't run into people directly. But they're still contributors to tons of collisions because of people trying to avoid them.

Well there are two ways to look at it:

1. It's funny when they're not accurate and amusing when they're accurate.
2. You are literally Count Pococurante and get to post dumb shit whining about how you don't think it's funny.

I don't mind fast drivers as long as they don't tailgate people.

Though to be fair, the definition of tailgating has crept so much that you pretty much have to ram someone to count.

Seriously, try it sometime. Count seconds from the car in front of you passing a sign or pothole until you do. I guarantee you it's less than 2 unless you're so far off in the middle of nowhere that there's just nobody ahead of you. And I guarantee you if you try to slow down until it's 3, somebody fills that gap before you can get there.

It's literally the only way Republicans can win, and they know it.

It started as two rich guys in a dispute over stolen wealth. Now they've escalated to kidnappings and attempted murder, of family, friends and even infants.

I remember some translations saying that Jesus' last words before he ascended to heaven including "I'm coming back soon," and then noticing how the disciples kept standing there looking into the sky before an angel finally showed up and told them to get back to work, and thinking that was really funny. As if they thought he meant he would be back in a couple seconds/minutes or whatever.

But other translations say things like "quickly" or "without warning", with the idea being more like "you never know when I'm gonna come back," which kinda ruins the joke. A little. It's still kinda funny.

Looks like the "Seasonal blend" is Horchata.

A quick Google search later, it looks like Horchata is some Spanish plant-based beverage? Sounds weird but worth a try.

They tried to ban MTG when I was in High School citing complaints about Satanic imagery. We all got together with the principle and said we only played before school and the only people who we suspected The FCA that held their meetings at the same time in the auditorium next to the cafeteria where we played. Told him church and state yada yada yada. We resumed playing after that.

You know, I've never thought of it until you literally just mentioned it, but I bet a decent school principal would be positively overjoyed if a group of students formally scheduled a conference to discuss a policy.

I always saw them as dictators (note that "dictator" doesn't necessarily mean bad) but considering they actually teach civics in their own walls, something like this would be at the very least confirmation that they're doing something right.

I don't think they were banned ever. However a music teacher confiscated mine during middle school because she was one of those idiots that believed the news that it promoted gambling.

I never actually learned to play; I just wanted to collect a bunch of em. But I think I seem to remember one of the rules being that if you lose, you have to give a card over to your opponent.

I could see that being construed as gambling.

I assumed they already did this.

Maybe I'll just get some of those LED safety goggles and take the lenses out.

The other day I installed an external power switch/USB hub and, as I was sitting there with a flashlight between my teeth, I started contemplating better ways to see inside.

First thought was putting a white LED in each corner, on the interior side of the of that ridge that holds the side on, so when you remove the side and lay it flat, they'll be on the "ceiling," so to speak. You could connect them all to a single flipswitch and then to the PSU.

But that won't work because you turn off the PSU before you start tinkering. And unplug it.

So I thought maybe I could plug those into the wall and run the cable out through one of the PCI slots, but that would be really really dumb, lol.

Battery powered tap lights? No. Those are much too large and I certainly don't want batteries corroding inside my case.

Other ideas?

You really need to pass sort of test before you're allowed to have kids. Parents who ban their kids from popular things for religious reasons shouldn't have them at all.

As it turns out, my parents were smarter than that. They were just pissed off that I had toys at school. My sister tried to play that angle to make things worse for me but they just ignored her.

But a lot of parents weren't. There was a big fuss over Harry Potter, too.

Some recess or after school monitor confiscated mine, and she never returned it. I was 5 years old. She was like 38. I always presumed her daughters inherited the cards because they were a trashy family.

It didnt make sense. I was playing while waiting to be picked up after school.

A cousin was expelled in middle school for his Pokmon card stealing ring.

I stole an annoying kids pack in 5th grade. Not for money (none were valuable), but out of spite.

Mine got confiscated on the school bus. Some jackass was mad because I wouldn't trade with him and yelled "he has Pokemon cards" so the driver literally stopped the bus and made me go give them to her. She said my parents could go pick them up.

The kid had instant regret. He probably thought I would deny it or try to hide them or rat him out too, or whatever. Kid was an ass hat literally at all times, so it surprised me that he actually seemed to feel bad about it. He kept saying "your parents will go get them."

Thing is, there was no way in hell I was going to tell my parents I owned them at all, let alone took them to school, because that was not JUST engaging in evil science and demon worship, but even worse, breaking the school rules.

Now, my sister was on the bus too, so she jumped on the opportunity to get me in trouble anyway. But I never even brought up the getting them back thing because that would have made things worse, so naturally, I never got them back.

As for what happened to them, I do know one teacher gave confiscated-and-not-reclaimed Pokemon cards away to whoever wanted them on the last day of school. This I know because I was one of the two kids there. The other kid accepted them.

Idk, I have seen travelers be such annoying pricks to airline employees. Like, the person working ticketing has nothing to do with your flight being delayed or cancelled and there is no amount of Karen like behavior that will change the status of your flight.

I fly United a lot and havent had many issues with customer service. I missed a connection flying back home on Fathers Day even though I made it to the gate with the plane still there but after they had closed the doors and the people were pretty nice. Gave me a hotel room so I could nap and shower before getting a flight 8 hours later. I have seen people melt down in that situation and it just doesnt do any good.

Well, there's an element of truth in this, at the part where you say it's not the guy at the desk's fault.

But I absolutely understand why people in airports think they are so entitled. Because they bought a plane ticket and the airline screwed it up.

It's not a "shit happens" thing; it's a "we go out of our way to make sure shit happens" thing. As in, there are 100 seats in the plane, they booked 102 anticipating someone canceling.

Super Mario Bros was clearly a generic dystopia film that they made cheap costumes for.

Double Dragon was clearly a goofy action comedy that they borrowed some karate outfits for.

And the Resident Evil movies... Ok, those might have actually been legit but still. They're not helping the case that video game movies don't have to be crap.

All I know is the entertainment industry is trying its damnedest in the last half-decade to convince me that video game adaptations don't always have to be crap and they literally never will.

Video game movies are what happens when a crappy producer only knows how to make crappy movies but won't budge on their crappy ideas and knows the whole thing is crappy so they just put a licensed title on it to get more butts in theater seats.

It's not "hey we should make a Mega Man movie", it's "instead of scrapping this crappy Romcom we're pretty much done with making, why don't we make a costume and refilm three or so scenes so people think it's a Mega Man movie?"
