Is...is anyone still playing this?

The new update dropped and the only new monster is the FF crossover, Omega. It's quite a doozy. Hits like a truck with incredibly short windows to react and includes everyone's favorite thing about World's Behemoth: multiplayer mechanics! At first glance, you might say it's not well designed for a MH game, and you'd be right. This awful contraption is a nightmare, and that's before you advance to the even crueler Savage version of the quest, which is required for half of the new gear.

How are y'all faring with the new content? Personally I find Omega to be crazy overtuned. It seems like every update monster is full of one- or two-hit KO moves even with fully upgraded armor. I had to switch from GS to Bow for Omega after the first quest (the one that gives you the full 50 minutes), since I can't seem to hit it enough with GS when it's hopping around and blowing shit up every two seconds. At least support hunters gladly play tank and don't waste carts. I'm trying to git gud enough to attempt the Savage version cuz I want the rest of the goods, but given how much I'm still carting on the normal one, idk if it's gonna happen.

Also we do have a squad (ID: MK86Q9SH). I don't think anyone really uses it, but y'all are free to join anyway.

P sure there's an option in Final Mix to change how you control the command menu, but I don't remember if it puts camera control back on the shoulders.

now the big question is - Will they release a sequel film based on the books? Theres obviously no musical for those but it would be interesting to see what happens from here. The books are WILDLY different from the musical though so it probably isnt possible.

I was just thinking about that lol. I guess they're already introducing an original song in For Good. If these films do well enough, then Wicked Part 3: Son of a Witch may be too tempting a cash grab to pass up. They'd certainly have to change a fair bit and possibly plant the seed for it in For Good, but it's doable. Give us a movie about Elfie's bisexual anti fascist son!

It always creeps me out that even true crime channels, which are all about murder, don't use the word "kill." Like sure, you can create all kinds of content about the crime, but don't you dare say the k word or our sponsors will "unalive" you. :)

That's an incredible likeness. And the rendering is fantastic.

Watched it earlier. Wasn't crazy about it. It felt very fast paced and messy. Like they were afraid to let anyone stop talking or doing something for more than a second. I might just not vibe with Vivziepop's work.

The webcomic up to that point is just as confusing. Just a little more time to digest it. The pilot covered like 30 minutes of reading but some of what's happening here isn't meant to be understood until waaaaay later on. Homestuck is one of those things you almost definitely have to read twice.

This is accurate. I appreciate that they tried to incorporate so many details like the inventory and strife specibus, but I think it would have worked better if they hadn't. John struggling to pick up items is a hilarious bit in the comic, but I don't know if it was at all adequately explained in the pilot. That could have easily been a whole episode on its own. I imagine if I'd never read the comic, it would just look like a bunch of random items flying around and icons flashing on the screen for no reason.

Keeping score and being vindictive I guess. If dude takes a day to reply to my text, you know he's gonna wait another day to hear from me. Cancel last minute on me and you're getting one word responses for a while.

But also I haven't tried dating in a few years. Flaking and ghosting get old.

It felt like everything hit too hard and did too much stance damage for how fast they moved. It made it tough to use most of the weapons and classes. Plus iirc, the regular block was worthless when the game launched, so it was soul shield or bust. Soul shield was fun to use though.

I never played the dlc, but the new weapons looked neat at least.

Why did they feel the need to give each character a voice clip for each individual trick in the air combos? And it's the same sequence every time. It could have been one clip per combo and then alternate between the lines. Or even just sound effects with no voice clips during air tricks would have felt better. It's so repetitive. And the rivals dialogue is so long and slow. There's way too much talking in the game, except when it comes to dlc characters who don't talk at all?

There really should be another attempt at a RPG.

It did some things right. I liked some of the writing and getting to build a team of Sonic characters is a very enticing idea. It just also got some things wrong, even ignoring the glitchy soundtrack and unresolved cliffhanger ending.

A better made Sonic RPG could definitely be cool though.

Amy first. She has seniority and also a big ol' hammer. And it would give them a chance to resolve her thing for Sonic instead of just pretending it was never a thing.

Lol Sonic Chronicles was pretty flippin' bad, but the idea has potential. You could say that about a lot of Sonic games though.

Just tried the demo. It's fine I guess. Even with the alternate paths, it doesn't feel like you're doing as much or making as many decisions as in Mario Kart and CTR. The tracks are narrow and the items hit you or they don't, largely without regard to anything you do.

Yeah, good job on the coloring and the shading.

Ooh, that looks great. Really nice job on the muscles and the dragon face. I've always been awful at long mouths even from reference, but you nailed it. Also lol at the gloves, you're so valid for that. The singlet justifies them anyway though. Kinda reminds me of Dragaux from Ring Fit Adventure.

Also everyone else is doing amazing stuff itt too.

I liked it. I didn't think the controls were uncomfortable or anything. If you can sit down and put the 3ds on something, it's fine. And the aiming was neat. But the fact that the controls were all context sensitive could screw you over. Accidentally using a melee attack instead of shooting or vice versa, or dodging vs dashing at the wrong time.

The writing was great though. I loved that the characters would quip and bicker the whole time you were playing. Also weapon fusion was a fun system.

The first time I really noticed weird pacing was the Mario Movie. We meet Mario and Luigi, we learn about their ordinary lives, they get isekai'd, and that's all fine. Mario bumbles around the Mushroom Kingdom for a bit, he meets Peach, and then things just start moving too quickly to have much emotional weight. After the training montage, Mario gets launched into a bunch of zany situations and it's too much in too little time to appreciate his struggle or growth.

It's been a long while since I watched it, so I don't remember all the details. But I remember thinking that even though I did enjoy the movie, it felt off with how much time it spent on different parts.

Still no Meowth. That's a choice you've made.

Orcologne! Hell yeah! And yeah you're probably right to use Oinkologne over Lechonk. Lechonk is a sweet little babey, but it has like three design elements. Not much to adapt lol. The oinks at least add in their more distinct tails and ears.

Octopath Traveler's final bonus boss is pretty bad. Partly cuz it's such an enormous leap in difficulty over everything else in the game and it has a unique format to it. Having to refight eight lesser bosses every time you fail doesn't help.

The Mysterious Figure in Birth by Sleep was utter nonsense. I've fought some crazy hard bosses before, including several that I would still call harder than this one, but there's a special place in the bad boss fight Hall of Fame for a boss with instakill rapid tap mechanics in the middle of the fight with no little mini cutscene to prepare for them or anything. That on top of just generally being absurd anyway. I dodge rolled more in that one fight than in the rest of the series combined, I think.

Yeah this was some dog shit design. Just dodge rolling for ten straight minutes waiting for it to use the one move that leaves it open enough for the one command in the game that's safe to use against it. Every attack will one-shot you unless you have the abilities that prevent one-shots, in which case one of its moves will one-shot you anyway.

Yeah this fucking sucks. So you need an NSO subscription for these three megas plus whatever else they add in later. Also you need the dlc that they already announced to get other megas. Pokeymans are getting pretty expensive.

I wonder how well the game runs online. Tera raids were absolute ass, in terms of base mechanics and also with the lag for a system that doesn't strike me as all that difficult to make run well. This game actually has real-time combat. If its performance is half as shitty as Tera raids, then no conceivable mega could possibly be worth the trouble.

Also, if you actually need to do well in battles against other players to advance and earn the stones, then GF can go fuck itself again for that. I like that pokemon lets you coast through the games and just enjoy the critters you like, and over level and cheese challenges if you need to. Having to look up meta teams to even stand a chance is fucking boring.
