Air Ride is very different from most racing games and even kart racers. And honestly it's almost wrong to call it a racing game. City Trial is the biggest draw IMO and depending on which final event is chosen, there may not be any actual races involved in a given run. Yeah, the other two modes in the original were all racing and there are multiple final events that are just different kinds of races, but to me, it's primarily a roguelike driving/flying game.

Switch 2 still lets you rebind buttons for individual games, right? Should be fine. Also I wouldn't be surprised if some of the unused buttons also work as the B button and Sakurai just didn't bring it up.

There were some good moments in that presentation lol. The "Unfortunately" killed me.

Trailers with zero gameplay are garbage for established IPs too.

Yeah I'd also say Deltarune is probably a little easier for the most part. Your mileage may vary depending on on what fights you do and what clicks with you of course, but that's my impression.

But it's also SO charming, just like UT. The story isn't even complete yet, but there are already several arcs that tug on your heartstrings with more great tunes to match.

But it's not a bad idea to take a break between the games. Enjoy a palate cleanser, let the emotional dust settle, and some day when you're feeling nostalgic for UT, fire up Deltarune for a new adventure.

Yay, glad you enjoyed it. I'd say at least give geno a try cuz the atmosphere of the tough fights can really help keep you going, but it is time consuming just to get there, and I understand if you don't wanna waste all that time for a couple of fights that you don't think you'll enjoy.

Agreed, that's clever. Reminds me of the part in Triple Deluxe where you suck up a boss's HP display and then eat the boss whole. The Hypernova sections had some funny moments.

I also thought the map looked small. Maybe he just got a shit ton of power ups early on, but he was definitely zooming across it in no time flat. And it was pretty flat, too. Also disappointed that there's only the one map. Seems like an obvious move to include a few of them.

The new machines look neat though.

Sounds like something between a waste of time and a bad idea. Either they annul same sex marriages when they're outlawed; or they close off the path to divorce, leaving couples who rushed into marriage while they still could unable to split. Iirc that happened when individual states' laws on marriage were changing all the time.

Their starting towns go clockwise around the map. It also answers for the two Ts.

Arcanine is even worse though cuz "ARK uh nine" ignores both arcane and canine's stressed syllables and doesn't highlight anything important. At least you get the words char and blast stressed in both of those.

You know, now that you mention it, I'm not sure if I can think of a Nintendo game that Pokemon has crossed over with besides Smash Bros. Never really thought about it before, either.

Wait, there were a few avatars you could use in the first Mario Maker. But I guess those are the only two examples I can think of.

The other one that immediately comes to mind for me is Splatoon. They've had splatfests themed around pokemon, but it feels like a less substantial merch crossover rather than a proper game crossover. Like you'd see some pics posted in the game of some pokemon, the hosts would talk about it, and then after the fest, all references were scrubbed from the game.

But even Mario Kart 8 doesn't have pokemon amiibo costumes. Mario character amiibo unlock racer suits for miis. Same with Kirby, Star Fox, Mega Man, F-zero, Pikmin, and Sonic amiibo. But not fucking pokemon? They couldn't approve of one Pikachu helmet? Or a red and white pokeball helmet? What even is that?

I agree, but I wouldn't want them to reciprocate with Mario characters in Kirby Air Riders. It'd feel wrong.

Isn't Pokemon like weirdly stingy about crossovers with other Nintendo games? Even though they'll do merch collabs with anyone under the sun.

Really easy cookie recipe: 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of sugar, one egg. Roll into balls (I use a cookie scooper cuz I cba to roll them), slap them on a baking pan. Mash them down with a fork to make a criss-cross pattern. 350F for about eight-ten minutes.

I literally did exactly this like twelve hours ago. Except it was a double batch cuz I'm a pig and also I sprinkled some sea salt on top. First pan was a little burnt in the bottom cuz I'm never convinced they're done, but the others were great. I do love this recipe.

When I had a single digit age...I played Rugrats: Search for Reptar (1998 on the PS1).

I was absolutely terrified of the "ghosts" in the Let There Be Light stage.

Silly looking now, but I was absolutely terrified of them when I was really young.

That game was actually scarier than it had any business being. The lights out level, the sewer, any stage with Mr. Friend. Letting you actually explore the pyramid in the golf level only to then hide a Mummy Mr. Friend jumpscare inside? That's just mean.

I looked up some videos of the game a few years back after not having played it since I was a kid. I was surprised that the first Mr. Friend level is actually still terrifying. They swarm you and they move too fast for how clunky the controls are lol.

I know Maechen has a line about it, but I still feel cheated that there aren't any Hypello players.

It's a little messy. Ya gotta go slow and careful with the brush. You can probably take some nail polish remover and a paper towel and carefully dab at your skin to remove the extra now.

You can also use some tape to cover up the skin around your nails in the future. Though it's kinda tough to do with any precision on your own hands. Or get some liquid latex I think it is? Never tried it, but I've heard it recommended before.

No clue, but it sounds like a fun idea.

Accurate. The homing attack and drop dash are straight up lifted from Sonic. If you like the Sonic Adventure games (the hedgehog stages particularly), then this is totally worth it.

There's definitely some shared DNA in there with the writing and humor. And the constant need to defy your expectation in any situation. I'm sure a lot of it is also Earthbound, but there's something else in there, too.
