Literally none of this matters. By the seller's own admission, he couldn't take care of the dog. Therefore, he shouldn't have had to be offered anything to take it from him. That implies the seller did, indeed, want something for the dog, a dog which he admitted he couldn't take care of.

I feel like you're trying to play with semantics to relieve the owner, somewhat, and the only part I don't really get is why.

Which is literally no better, so I still fail to see what point you're trying to make. Again, if he couldn't take care of the dog, the right thing to do would be giving it to somebody who could... Not making it a part of some crypto/game/whatever transaction. If you can't take care of it, then you shouldn't be placing some kind of "monetary" value on it, period. Doing the right thing would be giving it to a proper home, not trying to profit off of it in any way.

I mean, plenty of people found it interesting enough that it got two games and several comics series, so clearly it had an audience. Literally all I'm arguing for is its right to exist, as it was, and many found it enjoyable. Dismissing it as "This could never happen" seems very short-sighted.

Likewise, like viewmaster said... Why was the dog part of the "transaction" in the first place? If he couldn't take care of the dog, why not just give it to the friend? Why make it a part of a literal game transaction?

I have no idea what his circumstances are. Just because you can sit in a chair and play a game, doesn't mean you can look after a dog.

I feel like it kinda... does? Like, if you have the time to sit in a chair and game all day, you have time to meet the basic needs of a pet.

Granted, my main gripe is how gaming media is painting this story. They're trying to paint it like this feel good moment, like "This guy cared about his dog so much he knew when to give it away," when it seems very clear he never cared about the dog in the first place, if he couldn't stop averaging 50 hours per week gaming.

If anything, that actually helps my theory that he is using third party programs. You can run these games in the background of your computer, idling to collect items, without actually playing them. You just have to check in every so often to redeem them. Which, again, explains the multiple screenshots he has of getting 300+ items in TF2

Not sure how this is an argument against what I'm saying.

He sounds like an awful person who never should have had a pet in the first place, so any story attempting to paint this as a "feel good" moment is dumb.

Those hours are most likely inflated due to a third party program. If you check his screenshots, he shows off multiple 300+ item "hauls", which reads to me like an idle program running to farm items. Which he then trades/sells on the marketplace

He also has over 500 hours in Apex, 1,500 hours in Counterstrike, and 100+ hours in countless other games, all with last played dates being literally today.

I will never believe this guy had actual life commitments that impacted his ability to take care of his pet. He chose gaming life. Thank god he gave the pet away, but it's nothing to praise him over.

So, apparently people ITT don't know about Steam marketplace trading. TF2 keys are more or less a grey market on steam, being used for the buying/selling of all kinds of products. Him being given TF2 keys doesn't mean he plays that game, as much as it means he is an active trader on steam. $750 for 450 keys is also a low estimate, as they typically sell for $2.10-$2.20 each.

He has over 3,400 hours in TF2 and his average playtime is either 49.8 hours per week, or for two weeks (unclear, since it doesn't specify), according to Steam, which is an insane amount either way. So, yes, he effectively has chosen playing Steam games over caring for his dog, so giving it away isn't a brave act, it's a basic act of mercy.

Kingdom Come, Emperor Joker and Ending Battle have all done this, all showing why and how Injustice would never happen and they were all written years before that game came out. For bonus points, The Sound of One Hand Clapping shows that Joker would never even get the opportunity to pull off this plan. Super hearing and super speed. Then Supes proceeds to deconstruct and dismantle his entire schtick just as a big middle finger to him

I think the point is that every universe isn't supposed to be taken as the same. Injustice, in particular, was portrayed as a universe where such a thing could happen, regardless of what sense it made in relation to other Superman tellings. It had its own internal logic, and, to its credit, it operated on that logic the whole way through, regardless of how non-sensical people may have felt the start was. Like, it's boring if Superman is so OP that such a thing can literally never happen. The entire point of Injustice was to be a "what if" scenario to make an interesting storyline out of an otherwise OP, fairly boring character.

Literally even the Kents admit he is reacting irrationally. Yes, they partially refute Batman's/the government's methods of being too aggressive, but they ultimately come to the same conclusion: Clark is in the wrong and needs help. But Clark refuses to accept said help.

The entire point is that Clark's irrational reactions lead to all of the events in the first place.

After reminding myself of the events via wiki, the Kents' entire argument is that Superman is in pain and reacting irrationally, and that the rest need to kinda adapt around that. Which doesn't refute the point that Superman was acting entirely out of line. They basically say Superman needs help, which Superman... Blatantly refuses, so...

So this is how the fight went down.

Stereo eye poked NFT and got his eye open. Stereo calls for a time out and starts running around the ring to yell at the camera its his dream and he wants a contract now. He runs over to the commentary team and they tell him to go away. The ref raises his hand but the commentary team is confirming its a no contest by eye poke so no winner and no contract. Stereo gets on the mic and announces he should get a contract and tries to set up a future fight with him and NFT after they both get contracts. Commentary team proceeds to trash talk and laugh at him for trying to control the show and says hes probably going to throw a party for himself after this and will be devastated when he finds out the truth.

The end.

No he didn't go insane because he was the reason it all happened. Joker notwithstanding, Superman immediately just doubles down on saving as many lives as he can. This works out fine for a while until the US Government decides to bomb some terrorist base knowing that a few dozen innocent civilians were going to die in the process. Superman intercepts the bombs and destroys them. No one dies.

This pisses off the US Government who decide in a galaxy brain move that they need to coerce Superman by threatening Martha & John Kent inside a Mirror dimension made by Mirror Master.

That is what sets him off.

...Superman literally establishes himself as the one and only authority on Earth within 5 years of killing Joker. He didn't suddenly change because of the US Government. He had been "I'm the only one who can decide what is best for Earth" before that. The "going insane" is in reference to him deciding he is the one who must decide what is best for everybody.

And then there's the whole "Superman kills Green Arrow for being a threat to Martha & John Kent despite Green Arrow not being an actual threat to them and only accidentally hurting them BECAUSE of Superman" bit.

The whole Mirror Master thing is in response to Superman trying to become the dictator of Earth, and Mirror Master pretty specifically adheres to not harming them beyond the initial capture. It's a desperation tactic in response to what Superman is doing.

I actually was driving to the basket, went for a layup but floated it to pass to my teammate.

Then when I came down I turned my ankle badly. I didn't jump that high though when I did that. The defender said he fels bad because he thinks he was playing bad defense which caused me to fall down on his foot. I didn't notice it though when it happened. The premise of the story not bad or even on it's own, just that by the time it was made it's on of many times that a story centered on evil Superman as opposed to Batman going bad.

Yeah given his lack of powers he might not be as much of a threat, but that holds true only if a writer committed to Batman being as realistic as possible.

Story that plays him up as Bat God? Yeah might as well not bother with the pretense of realism.

Oh, I don't disagree. I think a good Superman vs. an evil Batman also could be extremely interesting. I do get why they default to Batman being the "hero," though, since he's more relatable than Superman. Yes, billionaire playboy isn't TRULY relatable, but "guy with no powers" vs. "guy with literally all the powers" is.

The worst part is that prices basically dictate people eat worse.

Soft drinks are pointless calories, yet every decently priced fast food meal includes a soft drink, for example. If you want to actually eat healthier, it costs more.

EDIT: It's possible to eat fast food at a reasonable rate and be healthy. But fast food joints have basically raised the price of doing so, while the less healthy options are the ones that are cheaper. It's all by design.

This. It wasn't just "Lois died." Superman literally killed Lois, himself, without realizing it. And then killed countless people, on top of it. He went insane specifically because HE was the reason it all happened. Yes, he was poisoned, but it was still by his hand.

Injustice is a fantastic story. But it's just that, one story. Yes, they could probably do a story where Lois dies and Superman doesn't overreact. That said, they'd have to find a way to keep it entertaining.

My last cat would take shiny things and try to hide them, including coins, jewelry, etc. My current cat loves anything light she can bat around, and the most expensive thing she takes is pens. To be fair, from my recollection, that's true to how he does it in the show, too, isn't it? Maybe I'm wrong, I haven't watched in awhile. I remember him doing it almost... Matter-of-factly. I think the only thing he ever got fairly excited about was Eagly, and that quickly diminished when Eagly failed like the one thing he tried to get him to do.

This is why I'm happy that I found out my cat dislikes expensive toys and prefers the paper fortunes from inside fortune cookies and the cardboard pull strips from TV dinner boxes.

So military time allowed me to instantly tell night or day right after waking up.

It also removes ambiguity.
