I just got to the dungeon after saving her, the video game one. Pls don't spoil anything afterwards

I know most of you have already played it but I want to state Rise feels out of place. So far all of the interactions with other characters feel genuine. There's a carefree attitude but adolescent curiosity among the protagonists.

Rise on the other hand, while I understand her background was one of living a vastly distant life than the other students, one of seclusion and stardom; it's weird how she gets thrown into the mix

Like you start the game with 2 romantic options. And you can tell the protagonist and the 2 other girls don't really understand their feelings and don't know how to understand or what to do with them. And it makes for a compelling choice, and not one you can decidedly stick to. But then comes Rise. The idol who is obsessed with you. And it's like "hmm, do I go for every boy's high school fantasy, or stick with the realistic options"? It's just odd to establish a romance simulator that's pretty grounded for the first 20 hours, and then this gets thrown at you

Something tells me there's going to be a lot more to her. They'll flesh out her background where she struggles to assimilate, or/and there will be a significant plot twist directly involving her.

Spoilers: She does not become more grounded. What you see is basically her character. Granted, later Persona media takes this into account, by basically portraying her as never being an actual true option for MC. She's very... She is what she is, though.

Only read the above if you legitimately don't care about spoilers.

Well despite how fans on the internet discuss the game, Persona 4 is not a romance simulator. The "dating" is like less than 1% of the game. All of the social links including the girl social links have their own stories and the romantic parts are just a couple minutes of dialogue at the end.

So imo this isn't really a problem.

I like her best from the team options tbh. Her uh quirkiness doesn't actually bother me much because it felt to me like the whole cast is pretty cartoony. I was playing P3 at the same time so maybe it just felt like that because P3 is so edgy and tryhard and then I get on P4 and they're all like, haha Yosuke is gonna piss his pants haha.

I think Rise does get better and there's a lot more to her character but yeah you never really escape her behaviour. But it'd be weirder if you did imo, it's like expecting Chie to stop slurping juicy meat.

This is probably a controversial opinion, but I'll take Teddie as a navigator with his stupid jokes any day over Rise's navigation full of simping.
